The store is nice. It has a variety of snacks and quick foods,icecream, & the coffee counter is nice.The prices are as expected jacket up higher than most stores are but most gas stations are. A friend (worked) for this company while back and she only got 29 hours a week & wanted full time. The company is cheap, the pay is low. At their Xmas party in Frankinmuth 2024, he thanked all employees because profits were way up. BUT then said there wouldn't be any Christmas bonuses that year. Why even say this,after saying profits are way up? Even if he thought is was a funny joke,it really isn't when ppl are paid poverty wages.This isn't funny in these days and times. I heard this from my friend and thought " what a turd bag".Ppl don't have to work there, but the poverty wages make the company look pathetic and greedy. They are short staffed a lot. Maybe because the pay. COME ON, pay your ppl so they can at least pay rent and eat a little. They should turn the air conditioner on or fix it too, with their record high profits, its hot in there!! Low pay,no profit sharing, no bonuses, no dental,medical, optical.No incentives ,no A/C all hot summer. No wonder they are short staffed all the time. Oh well,many companies do this too. Coconut Joe of Saginaw, Mi told me Conlee's carries the best smoked and pickled Polish sausages. Made by Amish farms. Pre-wrapped and sitting in an oil that contains all the yummy juices. Conlee happened to sit roadside from our hotel while in Birch Run (the Hampton) -- and thank God, really. My kiddo and I were aching for a break from our hotel room (rain, rain, rain) and stepped out for a walk with Conlee as a destination (it was a pretty low frills weekend, mmmmk!?) Where else might one be able to get: homemade sausage snacks, Diet Vernors, a wolf t-shirt, a monster truck toy car, Advil, whole milk, string cheese, trail mix, diapers. And gas. And hit up an ATM for some cash. I mean, if you are traveling and you need something -- Conlee is going to be the stop. Really about all you want in a pit stop--lots of pumps, clean and well lit, clean restrooms, a friendly staff (even if you walk in at 3AM) and a wide selection of snacks and drinks. I haven't tried the celebrated sausages; I will note there is a larger array of not-so-junkfoody snacks than at most places (nuts, energy bars, and such). It's really a convenience store bordering on a grocery store. If all you're stopping in Birch Run for is gas, as opposed to going to the outlet malls, save yourself the hassels of the traffic on the west side of I-75 and come here. read more

I have just had the worst experience ever.... As always when I go to a convenience store I check the Cigarette prices. According to the signs they had Salem price (for 2 packs) at $8.16/pack and for Newports (for 2 packs) at $8.20/pack. I asked for 10 Salem ($81.60) and 4 Newport ($32.80). After I paid I reviewed the receipt and was charged considerably more per pack and overcharged over $5. I brought these back and let them know. They were very rude as though I was robbing them. The First Lady kept explaining why I did not get the posted price and I insisted the price is the price. After server also minutes she rudely said she would need to get the manager. The manager (Marie) came and was even more rude. They had multiple explanations as to why I could not get the posted price to include I am not a loyalty member and made me sign up for that and if I did I would get the pricing. Which I reluctantly did. They credited back the original purchase (all the while being rude as ever to me) and re rang the purchase charging less than the first bill but not the advertised price for the Newports just the Salems. They said the reason was the prices went up and the (cigarette guy) did not update the signs (still not my problem). They quickly took the signs down. One other lady that worked there chimed in and said just give her one pack at the previously signed price and no more (great customer service). Marie then called her manager and was so rude to me, flustered, and short at one point she put her hand up to me for me not to speak. At this point the pricing is $1.48 too high on the Newports and it is now more principle to me than cash. She hung up the She informed me that she did not have time to keep dealing with this any more. She re rang the Newports and declared the price for the 4 packs (which was still wrong) and said I owed her $34 and change (without credit of the 2nd bill). I let her know that I did not owe that rather she owed me $1.48 since there has been no credit of the 2nd bill. Now she is really smokin'. She again said I do not have time for this and opened the till, got out $1.48 and thrust it at me. No apologies for my time or inconvenience (25 minutes I will never get back) and she walked away. A great rest point along I-75. They have been here for a ton of years, serving travelers and locals alike. A great convenience store. They have been consistent in offering what the traveler needs. I remember when I was a kid, our family would stop here and get hot sandwiches out of their vending machines. read more

They had gas for 2.46 which I stopped and filled up because everywhere else it was 2.75 and I magically ended up getting charged for premium gas at 3.16 and when I called and complained they said that I must have hit premium and I said no way I would've done that then they switched their story and said the hose must have hit the button for me before I could hit regular gas and that there was nothing they could do for me. According to the manager they know about this issue and nobody has fixed it yet. It happened at pump 6 just to warn you all. read more

If my experience with one staff member is indicative, this place has the most helpful staff around! We checked out of our hotel, went out to the car and discovered we had a flat tire. Not a happy moment, but I managed to drive the car to the nearby Birch Run Conlee Travel Center to put air in the tire. As I was pulling toward the building, a tall, lanky guy saw the flat, grabbed the air hose and waved me forward. He proceeded to not only fill the tire, but then inspected it to find the leak, help me get a tire plug from the store and then did all the work to plug the leak. Turns out he's an employee of Conlee's (or the Pita Pit inside) named Michael. He's not a mechanic and he was off-duty but he just wanted to help. When I tried to pay him, he refused, saying he didn't need the money "because God has a way of paying back!" As far as we're concerned, Michael was heaven sent, helping these traveling strangers in need and asking nothing in return! Thanks, Mike and Conlee! read more

This location DID have the best fresh donuts available anywhere. However, today the female manager advised us they dumped their supplier since the donuts ended up with flies on them within a short time each day. A couple of Conley's employees told me it wasn't the donuts and showed us the back room where they keep used open cans and bottles by the hundreds--complete with a swarm of flies!!! ANYTHING at this store could quickly get flies on it--CLEAN UP YOUR BOTTLE AND CAN MESS IN THE BACKROOM! What kind of store manager covers her but by blaming someone else and not keeping a clean store... read more
