I had a burning desire to experience Variety and when the National Air Race got too hot I used it as an opportunity to come here during the afternoon to see what it was like. Sarah was amazing and even offered me some of the food they had set up under the TV. Not sure if this is a normal thing but it looked like a lot of potluck style home made and pre-made food they had out. I tried the squash soup she made since the whole trip I was trying to find something Native American and it was great. The drinks were cheap and there aren't so many people so you will get our order quickly. This is the very definition of a dive bar and I'm sure everyone here was a local except for me. I am very outgoing and can get along with a lot of people so I felt comfortable but this isn't somewhere I would bring my kids and wife. For better or worse this was one of my most memorable stops in Roswell.

I had tropical tea and Melodie had a mimosa, but w cranberry juice as suggested by our great server. Anyway, both dishes were delicious. Quiche was awesome with a flaky crust, as I like it. The Original Eggs Benedict was to die for. We substituted the Canadian bacon with good old fashion "real" bacon. (sorry Canadians) Not only did the bacon add some deliciousness to it, but it added a texture that allowed you to feel it as you are eating it. Chicken salad was also tasty w purple onions and celery. Although, I did box most if it up. Since I was getting full, I decided to enjoy the flavored later when I'm hungry. My husband lives just down the street for the Yucca Lounge and we were going to go there to buy a six-pack at the liquor store but decided to go in the bar for a drink. They have a little patio where a DJ was warming up (it was a Friday night). It's my understanding that this place get real busy on weekends. It was still early, we had a couple of drinks and really enjoyed the place. One thing of note that I've NEVER seen in any other little local bar - this place was immaculate! Spotless! Even the bathrooms were really, really clean. I told the owner I really appreciated his efforts to have a clean bar and that his establishment was a first. He seemed to really like that I'd noticed.
