Adobe Rose Restaurant in Artesia, NM
    Olga M.

Visiting family in Artesia, NM and had dinner at Adobe Rose Restaurant. For the area, I'm going to give this restaurant an overall (4.8/5 stars). Everything we ordered was excellent! We recommend trying the following: -Coca Cola Meatloaf, sliced and grilled meatloaf served with mashed potatoes, grilled zucchini, brown gravy & BBQ drizzle. -Pan-Seared Crushed Lemon Verlasso Salmon with green beans, crispy artichoke hearts, rice and lemon jalapeno cream sauce. -New Mexico Gyro-Ancho, marinated beef tips, warm pita bread, roasted peppers & onions, sour cream, & cilantro served with a fresh salad. -Classic Margarita so delicious we had many!! There's indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio turns into a nightclub after 9pm. Pretty fun hangout for the locals. Considering house busy this restaurant was, the service was pretty good. Give this place a try when in the area. Happy Yelping :)

We were stopping through Artesia and saw this recommended quite a few times as a great place to eat. It's attached to a hotel and has such a cute vibe. The evening was chilly but we still elected to sit on their lovely patio and they had a fire pit going. I was in the mood for something lighter so I went with the Southwest Cobb Salad and it was not only delicious but quite filling. My bf had the Chile Devil Pot Roast. It's a house favorite and had wonderful flavors. Although the name makes it sound spicy, it isn't, so don't worry if you can't handle spice.

This place needs attention. Service needs to be better. We came here for one beer. The place needs a new refresher. The outside bar needs a big upgrade or something to make a big impact when walking from the parking lot. Yes I know is an open space patio. But better and great things can be done outside. We didn't check the inside because the outside speaks.

Really good food, and from what I hear it's the best option in the area. The queso was amazing! It kind of tasted a little truffley? The steak was good but the best thing on the menus in my opinion (sounds crazy but trust me) is the giant taco salad type thing (forget the official name). It's delicious and comes with lots of well seasoned steak. The bananas foster is pretty cool too, as they cook it table side! Yum!

ordered the trio dip, which came with queso, salsa and artichoke dip, and they were absolutely delicious creamy, flavorful, and perfect for dipping. But the real star of the night was the pot roast. It was super tender, packed with rich, savory flavor, and just the ultimate comfort food. Everything was so freaking good! The service was great, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Let me start with the positive. The food was amazing. We were a table of five and I can't say a single plate was awful. The fillet grading the lamb was electable pork chop was so tasty and even the quesadilla was so cheesy. The problem is we walked in the hostess wrote us off basically told us not to waste our time we read about how good the restaurant was so we decided to stick around. There were no accommodations attempting to be made to sit us down or anything to help us. We are basically written off just as we were getting ready to go to other large parties walked in and they were immediately accommodated. Finally, the manager interjected she attempted to make an apology, but there was never any kind of hospitality or gestures to compensate or the over an hour wait and ignoring us while others were immediately attended to. meanwhile our party had come from far and met in the middle three hours from the north three hours from the south to celebrate my son's birthday and very disappointed in the fact that we were not valued as customers While I love the food. I'm not sure I would return. Customer service and hospitality is king!!

Adobe rose has a warm and friendly atmosphere. We tried the stuffed fried avacado. OMG, it was delicious. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini . . . DELICIOUS. My husband had the New York strip . . . DELICIOUS. We loved this place. What a gem.

Well so far not bad. Nice atmosphere. Really hungry for a good steak. The special tonight is Filet Mignonette and Lobster. In New Mexico. Let's see what they got! I had the Deviled Eggs appetizer. Tasty. Steak is great. And Lobster is a very nice surprise. Tender and flavorful. The butter sauce was delicious. Well every thing was as advertised. My server Angie was great!!! I'll be back!!!

The FLETC Artesia employees have aprons with a logo very similar to the Chick-Fil-A logo, to remind everyone of the fine dining experience. Review: This outstanding restaurant / dining hall is part of a "members only" known as FLETC; entry is controlled via ID check at the "guard shack" of the FLETC campus. To gain access to this VIP club, one must pass a membership screening, background check, medical and physical exams, and be personally interviewed. Once membership is granted, you can eat here, for FREE. Inside are wonderful options, such as bins of corn dogs and onion rings under heat lamps. One can utilize the many plastic Lubys-style trays and eat unlimited corn dogs. A salad bar exists, often with "fusion" salad dressing in which the Ranch dressing got spilled into the Vinaigrette dressing by some BP trainee who is exhausted from PT earlier that day. Only here is "grilled chicken" performed without a grill. The chicken will be retrieved from a pot of hot water, with perfect grill marks imprinted on it. For those who consider mineral and salt intake important, this is the place to be. Onion rings, bacon slices, french fires, are all on the menu. Crates of bananas will be found (either all green, or all brown) near the cash registers, for those who want their potassium. Please be cognizant of the dining hours, as part of your FLETC club membership, you may be enjoying a club-sponsored fun event that day, such as "range", "PT", or "driving." Some events, such as "range" are so fun that it may finish 15 minutes before closing of the dining hall. PT may begin so early that you must eat breakfast at 6AM. Please note that even though the dining hall lists 6AM as "open", the lady with the key to the front door will not walk to the door until 6:05AM. Also, "pro tip" - check your forks. Many forks are flatter than the butter knifes. When you pull them out of the silverware bins do a "press check" on them. Also, if you (see "range" comment) end up arriving late, plan on eating your pork chops or chicken breast with a soup spoon, all the knives and forks are used up and dirty and thus not available. Do not waste precious time pulling napkins from one-by-one from the dispensers near the tray pickup. Instead, use the napkin dispensers near the cookies and pie area, and use the two-handed method, grab the TOP of the dispenser container, pull it forward, open the dispenser, and grab a stack of napkins for you and your classmates. This two handed drill can be done in 2 seconds, remember smooth is fast. Good luck and thank you to our HEROES who are FLETC members. They don't bother me at all, but we also had to shoo away them and especially flies which are sure annoying. I opted for a whole #9 turkey with black olives ($13). I am glad I did get chips, salad, or soup. It would have been too much for me. The avocado on my sandwich was a bit of a turnoff, having browned quite a bit. However, it was tasty. My oldest got a whole #12 BLT ($14). That thing had a ton of bacon strips which she didn't share. Lol. She at all of it. She had a cup of tomato basil soup which I thought was okay. Not my favorite. The lemon berry mascarpone cake ($7) was very delicious even though the cake part fell apart easily. Our waitress was friendly, but just a bit weird at times - like not handing me the receipt when I reached for it. She instead placed it further out in front of me. She just was in La La Land I guess. I would back for a lazy brunch with mimosas.

The only negative part of the evening had nothing to do with the restaurant. They marched us straight to some random back room that looked filthy and forgotten. Dirty walls, dead flies sitting on the window sills, dusty air vents directly over our table, worn-out floors and furniture... the whole place felt grimy. On the way to our table we were also walked past a nasty smelling dishwashing area, which really set the tone for the experience. Now the food. The kids got chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and somehow it managed to be both lava hot and completely flavorless at the same time. The chicken tasted like it lost a fight with the microwave. The meatloaf? I genuinely have no idea what they served me. It looked like cafeteria mystery meat drowned in tomato puree. Honestly offensive. I ordered the green chile cheeseburger with fries thinking maybe they'd at least get that right. Nope. The green chile had zero spice, zero flavor, zero reason to exist. The burger itself was forgettable at best. And the best part? The bill was nearly $100. For dirty vents, dead flies, bland food, and mystery meat. Would I come back? Not even if someone else was paying.
