Seriously...Gave this place another try and had lunch. Huge mistake. We ordered a steak finger basket that had French fries and toast. There were 2 tiny pieces of steak and 2 longer ones. The oil the fried them in tasted old. The French fries were ok. For almost $16, NOT WORTH IT. The girl that took our order couldn't figure out that it was our order when it came out. We were the only ones there without food. The other couple had already eaten. Just weird. We won't go back ever. read more

KaleidoScoops sells ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, sherbet, and other sweet cold confections. Additionally, they have a grill with classic American fare. There was free parking in their private lot. The adorable white and red shop is easily visible from Canal Street in Carlsbad, NM. Each regular cup with one large scoop costed $4. I admitted to our server that I was torn between two flavors and she stated that she could split a regular cup with two kid size scoops for me. Awesome! She didn't tell me that two small scoops was $5.50 but I probably still would've done it. While the flavors were not quite as prevalent as I would have liked, they were enjoyable. We tried: + Superman sherbet (blue raspberry, cherry & vanilla) + Mississippi mud + Coffee + Butter pecan On April 27, 2024, service was friendly & quick to get the line through as the dining area is a bit of a tight squeeze. WOW! $9.50 for a vanilla milkshake that was very bland, not a lot of vanilla flavor just tasted like milk.

5 stars. The workers were really nice and helpful, and were patient with us when we were deciding (there were a lot of options). The 2 girls on duty had amazing service, keep it up. The ice cream was delicious (IT WAS CEDAR CREST!!) you can barely find cedar crest anywhere, it's the best ice cream in the world. The building itself was very nice and even had outside seating. My wife came in and Ordered two cheese burgers and two orders of fries. The young girl in the front who took the order was nice and good. When the order was done the bag was handed to my wife. Upon inspection it only had the burgers and was missing the fries. She asked for the fries and she was told they ran out and are dropping more. Ok. Only 5-7 minutes to cook. 10-15 minutes later she asked and was told not ready yet but there was trays with fries being handed out. Another 15 minutes she had to ask for them again and after getting the bag with fries there weren't that many in the bag. KALEIDOSCOOPS you need to do better. read more

I asked for it to be fixed yet when I got it back it ended up with a whole piece of banana. Service so bad I just had to get names.... So basically this day started out with me wanting icecream, a little bit of dairy for my dairy-free life i then drove by a small a icecream shop i thought my self "perfect!" I then pulled in then i walked in and seen there was a little bit of a line didnt think much and seen a menu for food. I thought "how nice" 2-in-1 restaurant. They asked if i wanted a meal or just the cheeseburger i said "meal" the meal was a medium drink and a side of fries with a small 6 oz cheeseburger, ridiculously overpriced for what i got. I had paid for a scoop of icecream for afterwords they said to walk up and get it. The young lady working the register didnt seem to know what she was doing and kept second guessing herself and took around 15 seconds to find the right button finally i paid for my meal so i went to take a seat. Couple other groups got there oder taken by the other young man than the other women who helped me disappeared to the back. I thought "oh well as long as the other customers were waited on" she only came back when all the customers had already been helped by the young man i then waited about 30 minutes for my cheeseburger with grease soaked buns YUCK!!! When i took a bite out of the cheeseburger everything fell out the other end with grease dripping all over the fries I thought ranch dressing would make this better but when i went up there 50 CENTS EACH!! I was eating my cheeseburger and i ran out of coke from my medium drink i walked to the counter asking if they did free refills the young lady said yes then proceeded to walk away i waited time till the other young man walked out and gave me a refill.i walked back to finish the meal and once i was done i walked up to get my icecream the young lady forgot i paid for the icecream and asked for the receipt but i didnt have it because they kept it. A little bit of back and fourth she went to the back to get the "manager" who was the cook no hair nets long acrylic nails greasy hair and on edge of having a beard, me and her proceeded to go back and fourth , finally i got my icecream after another customer confirmed i bought the scoop as the young lady scooped my icecream her finger ended up right in it YUCK!!! I then asked for names saying i was going to leave a review with the response "go ahead"and refusal to give me their names P.S the "manager/cook". Was in her mid 30's with leafy like tattoos across her chest with slutty clothes. The young girl working register with big round glasses and odd looking style and big eyeliner.... Hamburgers way overcooked and buns burnt after waiting 40 minutes for food, and they were not busy. Workers do not wear gloves and handle your food. It could be a little cleaner in there, but not as bad as it usually is. Needs better management! read more

This is a local hot spot as it should be. They have the basic meals like burgers, hot dog, chicken strips etc. They have about 15 different flavors of ice cream, you get to try them if you want. I suggest trying them because they are not labeled correctly, and do you really want to ask what each and every flavor is? Gotta say the service was good and the brownie sundaes are amazing. It also feels like a diner which is cute. They have outside and inside seating. Wow! The ice cream here is really delicious! And there are so many flavors! I didn't even know Ice cream could be had in so many different flavors until I've come here. Puts cold stone creamery to shame (even though I also very much love them as well)!! My daughter loved the birthday cake flavor! She had fun pretending all the different sprinkle colors were the baby shark family lol. I had an amazing flavor I've never had before I think it was called the pirates bounty, but it was a caramel based flavor with m&ms and chocolate chips I believe I am not even really sure what all was in there but it was amazing! Looked like it was the only ice cream shop around off the Main Street. You would think it would be fantastic but was very disappointed. The ice cream cakes in the fridge looked like it was left out and melted and refreeze. We had quite a few orders placed to go and there was only a couple staff working the servings. Instead of them placing the pints of ice cream back into the freezer until they were all finish, the ice cream was already melting before we got out of the door. Our server kept slipping on their wet floor which was a worker's comp accident waiting to happen. The ice cream is from blue ribbon and was alright but I would not visit this place again if we were to visit the area. You're better off just going to the grocery store. read more

So, everyone working there except for I'm guessing the owner or manager was very young, and I don't have an issue with that except they acted "young". My order was out for a while sitting on their counter before one girl looked at it and asked if it was mine. I imagined it was so I told her yes. She put it on the front counter and asked if I wanted a bag. It was a good size order so I said yes please. She said, "let me make this shake for someone else first." Ummm... I think it would be good for their business to spend a little bit of time on training the young employees in basic communication skills and customer service. Ok, so now for the food. I got the combo, cheeseburger and onion rings which was around $12. The cheeseburger was ok but the meat was plain. Needed some seasoning or at least salt. Definitely not a $12 burger. The onion rings were actually really good, best part of my order. I also ordered some chili cheese fries and they looked and tasted like they were soaked in oil before cooking them. Should have known that the "People don't want to work anymore" sign was more than just an owner complaining. It took about 15 minutes before the kid behind the counter got to us. In the meantime, we got to witness another worker come from the back and make a couple of shakes. He wiped down the machine but left milk & ice cream splattered all over the counter. When it was finally our turn to order we asked for a shake. The kid behind the counter saw the mess but proceeded to ignore it. He made our shake quickly but only filled the cup 3/4 of the way. Kids run it. The flavors aren't labeled correctly. The wait is usually very long. They aren't trained very well in quick turn overs. The ice cream isn't crazy good. Rocky road it was!!! I walk into this place on Sunday afternoon at approximately 12:45 pm; 1 lady in line being serviced. The 2 youngsters behind the counter, 1 very young female taking care of drive thru and the other a young male with ball cap attending the counter. As I'm waiting, a tall slender throw back from the 60's young male with blue circular spectacles, inked up, torn shorts, towing a female child walk in......BOOM , instant service from the young male employee!!! I'm sooooo tired of being skipped, looked over so I politely step in and state: excuse me for being a pain but I've been waiting and I was next. I said nothing negative, condescending and used no vulgarity. What kind of reply from male employee........empty: Na Ting!!! No, sir I'm sorry about that, nada!!! I'm now waiting for my item; well hippie wanna be has to say something!! He uses his female child to attempt to make me feel bad by saying something like, we can wait for ice cream to me. You can tell the parenting skills left much to be desired by this individual. Shortly thereafter, he said to the effect of : this poor girl just wanted ice cream. Dear God, give me a break!! Instead of saying something that his daughter could learn from like, sir we apologize for skipping in front of you and we didn't know. Nope!!!! Let's teach her to be confrontational instead!!! Kaleidoscoops, although not homemade (I forget the name of source), ice creams here had really great flavor. Good portions. Service was friendly. Samples were given with no drama. There is even a drive thru! We tried a few flavors: "Nutty coconut": coconut ice cream with 3 different kinds of nuts. Got that both days, got others in the party to choose that, also. Yummy for sure. Love the nuts, got at least one in every bite :) "Superman": original flavor here, my son loved it! (strawberry, lemon, blue raspberry) The flavors worked well together...tasty! "Pirate's Booty": another original flavor, my 3 y/o devoured it. I think it's cookies & cream with M & M's pieces. "Pistachio Almond": flavorful with firm nuts, not soft/rubbery, good stuff! "Black Cherry": tasty with a good amount of black cherries, no iciness to it. "Mocha Almond Fudge": wifey said it was good, I particularly don't prefer coffee flavored stuff, so I'll take her word for it. Ice cream sandwiches are made here with a variety of flavors. My oldest enjoyed it so much, he got a second one! He had pralines & cream both times. This place was a pleasant surprise, definitely worth trying. read more

Kaleidoscoops, you are so much more! The burgers are delicious! You get a choice of a 6 or 8 ounce handmade patty, and it is served up with all the fixings. It is a gooey, yummy mess. If you go for the basket, you get a choice of fries, onion rings, tater tots, sweet potato fries or Texas toothpicks. How does one choose? We stopped in only for ice cream around 8pm on a Sunday. They are most certainly understaffed. It looked like there were 3 high school aged girls waiting on people. We honestly felt sorry for them. I'm sure it is stressful to not have enough people working. They are (sadly) set up to fail. Why run a business in this manner? Many of their ice cream flavors were out at the time we went, but we did enjoy what we bought. Many of the tables for outside seating needed cleaned, but again, the workers can only do so much. If you don't have enough workers, maybe it's time to rethink how your business is being run, or double their wages. Whoever owns this place is throwing their workers under the bus. read more

The worst I've ever had in my long life for an ice cream treat. We ordered the 'blast' assuming it would be similar to DQ,s blizzard. I gave them 1 star because the girl who tried helping was nice. Their Blast is ice cream, milk, sugar water (simple syrup) and lots of ice blended. I should've known just by this recipie it would be horrible. Had to throw them away after the first taste.
