Dear Sonic Customer Relations Team, I am submitting a formal complaint regarding repeated order errors, poor customer service, and the inability to obtain a refund for items that were not prepared correctly at the Anderson, California location. Order #10003691576009 was placed through the Sonic app for pickup at the Anderson, CA location. The order was missing a medium cheese tots item totaling $4.09 plus tax. Order #1000372031168 was also placed through the app at 1:33 p.m. and included a large cheese tots with onion, totaling $5.09 plus tax. This item was incorrectly prepared with chili, which poses a serious concern as my co-worker is allergic. I arrived approximately 10-15 minutes after placing the order, checked in through the app, and selected stall #2. I waited approximately 10 minutes with no response before going to the door for assistance. No one acknowledged me, so I returned to my vehicle. The food was finally brought out about two minutes later. Both orders were taken back to work, where the errors were discovered. Attempts to contact the Anderson location by phone were unsuccessful, as the phone rang repeatedly without being answered. When I contacted Sonic customer service for app orders, I was advised that the only options available were a food replacement or a $5 Sonic gift card. Due to ongoing issues with this location, we declined both options and requested refunds for the two incorrect items totaling $9.18 plus tax. I was informed that refunds could not be issued and that the complaint would be escalated. On 12/19/25, I received a call from the manager of the Anderson location in response to the escalation. She stated she could only offer the same options previously presented and was not authorized to issue a refund. She directed me back to customer service, stating they were the only ones who could process refunds. Customer service was contacted twice more. Both calls were disconnected, and no return calls were made. A chat through the Sonic website again resulted in being told the Anderson location had to process the refund. No other resolution was offered. To date, no refund has been issued. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated experience. Within the past week, a co-worker ordered a Reese's Sonic Blast late at night and discovered the candy was only lightly sprinkled on top instead of mixed throughout. On another late-night visit, the same co-worker entered the drive-through, was told someone would assist her shortly, waited over two minutes without further response, and ultimately drove away. It is unacceptable that attempting to obtain a simple refund of $9.18 plus tax for incorrectly prepared items has required multiple calls, extensive wasted time, contradictory information, and ultimately no resolution. This is the only Sonic location in our area, and the ongoing service issues make it difficult to justify continued business. I am requesting a refund for the two incorrect items and a review of customer service and operational standards at the Anderson, CA location. I would appreciate written acknowledgment of this complaint and confirmation of how this matter will be resolved. read more

We sat there for 35 minutes and finally we saw somebody so we called them over to see what was going on. They didn't seem to have our food ready which was extremely annoying and when they came to ask us what are order was, they had a horrible attitude. Tried to copy my Google review but didn't work. Any way Sonic as been fairly good in the past, but today there were a number of failures in terms of missing items as follows: no fry sauce, no mints, no cherries in the cherry lime drinks, completely dry toast with the chicken tender orders, and no napkins. We had a longer than usual wait for our order so no point in trying to call for the missing items that even if we could get them it would'nt be in time to have them for the meal. Handy location for those of us trekking northward on the I-5. This Sonic is located in a shopping center full of stores including a Starbucks, if you must caffeinate before getting on the road again. Burgers are decent but not fantastic. Their menu changes with the odd promotions now and again. I think my burger was Caribbean-themed and had some sort of habanero sauce on it. The tater tots are always a nice alternative to fries, although I wish they'd crisp 'em up just a tad more. Highlights are the drinks. I recently stopped in for a chill cheese dog and a root beer. The hotdog and bun were fine, however there was about a level tablespoon of chili and a small lump of melted cheese. The root beer was nearly flat and even with "No Ice" tasted watered down. This place has REALLY gone down hill. I used to eat here 4 times a week then my job took me farther away. It used to be great service, you get what you ask for and quickly at that. Last week I came here to get my usual qtr pound coney w extra cheese and a coke. I added mozzarella sticks with 2 types of sauce. I ask for my extra cheese, that i pay extra for, on the side like always..reason because the cheese that comes on the coney sticks to the bag and you lose half of it when u pull the bag away..this way I have some extra cheese to top my dog...i got 2 flavors of sauce for my cheese sticks..paid extra for that as well. Meal comes, extra cheese on the side none on the dog..tell the waitress and she goes to get some more that should have come on it, she gets a 2 buck tip before she walks away. While she is gone I dig into my cheese sticks..only 1 sauce. No worries..i will ask for the missing 1 when she comes back..while I wait I put my extra cheese on the dog. She comes back no cheese in hand and says she needs my dog back..they will put it on for me. I hand it to her and tell her i just put the extra on it. I tell her about the missing sauce as well. More time goes by and she comes back..dog in hand..covered and noticeably without any more cheese added but they steamed it again so its soggy..and no extra sauce either. I had an extra 2 bucks to give her for the trouble but kept it as she handed the food with a huff and rolled eyes. Is it to much to ask to get what you actually pay for anymore? So just now I pulled to the drivethru for a coke..they have 2 drivethrus...I pulled to the empty drive thru as the other had 2 cars. I order my coke...a car pulls behind me. 8 minutes later..the car behind me has gotten food and has left..the 2 cars from the other drivethru and 2 extra card have all gone thru with food and leave and I sit getting nothing. So I drove away. No more Sonic for me until I actually hear something good from reviews on them again. So I finally got a chance to try this place after hearing so many great things about it. On my way back from my little trip up to Redding to visit family and friends, I had this on my to go to list on the way back.....lol...(I really did) anyhow you drive up to the little covered parking area with a menu board to your left and you wait for the guy/ girl to ask for your order... Being my first time there, I didn't know what to order. So being I was in my healthy mode(after a weekend of not so healthy food) I ordered there grilled chicken sandwich with cheese, no mayo on wheat with the side of sliced apples and a diet coke. One thing I really like about this place is the healthier options they have.So less than 3 min, some young, high school chick comes skating up with my lunch alright. Fast upbeat service always good!!! Chicken sandwich rocked! Good decent size, flavor was fresh and very tasteful and even the wheat bun was happening. Sliced apples complemented my savory chicken sandwich along with the diet coke. I really wanted to try there sundae however, being I was going to be spending the next 3 hours in a car ....I figured I would save it for a more physically active day. Perfect refreshment to the end of a long summer day. The Cheeseburger: large, neatly-put together, fully melted cheese, fresh soft bun, crispy lettuce and tomato, moistened with right amount of mayo. Need I say more? Surprisingly delicious (and I normally don't even go for fast food burgers). The Result: I was happy and satisfied. They even included extra napkins. Score. If I could rate the food and drinks separately, the food would receive a three star rating and I would give the drink menu five stars. That being said, a solid four stars it is. If you are coming here for the food, dont. It isn't anything to get excited for or anything you can't find somewhere else. They do offer breakfast all day, though. They also have really good onion rings and offer tater tots instead of fries which is nice. What you really need to go here for is the drinks! They have a long list of flavor shots to add to your sodas. They have slushes and really good shakes. Please note that they use REAL fruit in their shakes! The pineapple is amazing. And they have multiple options for diet drinkers like myself. Ex: diet coke, coke zero, diet Dr. Pepper, and Sprite zero. Normally there is never more than one diet option so this is close to heaven for me, lol. They also offer low calorie cherry flavor shots. Keep in mind this is a car hop so there is no indoor dining.
