I showed up 20 mins early for my 2:00 appointment. The door was locked and no answer on the phone. So I thought maybe they are at lunch. It's 2:07 and still Monica is not here or anyone else. I never received a call that she was running late. The website says if we cancel without 24hr notice we will be charged. Do I get to charge for the waste of my time? I have to say, this place is really adorable. Everyone is very nice and friendly. However, I wasn't expecting to pay what I paid. My hair turned out really nice but it wasn't worth what I paid for it. I had my roots done (to hide my greys) and color extracted (a couple of strands) from my hair color that I colored myself a couple of weeks earlier. (It gave it a highlighted look but hardly noticable). I had a trim as well. Not anything major. Because it was my first time at Soncy, it would have been nice to have known what the price range would have been before getting started. My Stylist did not tell me how much everything she recommended to me would have been. Ask first how much everything will cost if you are on a budget (Like I am) . I did call the salon to ask why it was so much money......... I didn't get an exact answer and it was " what she felt like the price would be" given her experience. I understand that...BUT...... $70.00 for a trim seemed a bit costly. Im still not sure what the other $230.00 was for. (considering what was done) I have been to other salons (with a full hair color and actual highlights with a FULL hair cut) and paid alot less than what I paid. (With a sytlist that had alot of experience and used just as good of a product) My hair turned out just as nice. They also told me the cost upfront. Because, I liked the salon and my stylist, I didn't make it a bigger deal, but not worth the $300.00 price tag. Literally. This shouldn't discourage you from going to this salon, just make sure you know what you are paying for...ask! read more

I love Soncy Hair Salon ! I went elsewhere for 23 years and recently switched to Soncy and into the talented hands of Jamie Lopez. I have never been happier with my hair in my entire life! The color they use there is so far superior to what they use where I used to go, I'm losing less hair. (I am of a certain age when this begins to be a concern!) My hair is in much better condition as well. Jamie gives me excellent hair cuts as well, as well as using new and innovative color techniques. I'm seriously looking in the mirror and admiring my hair all the time now! Jamie is sweet, talented, professional, flexible, available, respectful, and very intelligent. She truly listens to what I ask for, so that my hair experiences are collaborative efforts. She also does her best to make sure I'm always comfortable and happy. At my other salon, I had begun to feel less valued after being passed off to someone else for shampoo and blow dry. Jamie is 100% mine from start to finish during my appointments. She has also bent over backwards trying to find new products that I can use. Because I'm allergic to tree nuts, including coconut, this is very difficult! I've been going to Melanie for a few years now, and she's always amazing! This last trip was especially amazing though: I had grown my hair out for my wedding in early September (down to my mid back) and was ready for a change. I told Melanie that I wanted it short (chin length) but girly and fun. She gave me an amazing cut! Wow! Where do I start? I first met Melanie (owner/stylist at Soncy) in 2001. She was my stylist from 2001 to 2009 but due to a life altering experience I was unable to continue seeing her. I'm so proud today to say I'm back in the chair of the best hair stylist I've EVER had. When you step through the door at Soncy the air is immediately lighter and softer. The best way to describe it is that, "Soncy feels like lavender smells." It's that heavenly. Just a lovely and calming atmosphere. The decor is simple and very soothing. I've been in many shops that were super commercialized and over the top. Soncy is anything but that. The space is cozy and VERY intimate. It's almost like walking into the comforts of home. It's magic... As I sat in the chair I was reminded very quickly of the warmth and caring that Melanie gives to her clientele. Believe me, when you become a client of Melanie's you are far more than a head of hair and a dollar sign to her. She is so attentive and truly cares about the well being of her clients. As always, Melanie spent a great deal of time with me discussing color and cut, especially since I hadn't seen her in a few years. She was attentive and gave me great feedback based on my concerns. JESSICA IS THE BEST!!! It has been a while since I have what I consider an amazing experience at a salon. The past few years they have been ok but nothing that I left and I went "I wanna go back next week and blow my entire paycheck there."
