My sweet and sour shrimp was over cooked that tasted like rubbery shrimp in tempura batter. The table was filthy. My wife sleeves were covered in some sort of sweet-and-sour goo. The place was a mess. They charged us for items that we did not order. Like to give them zero stars

My husband and I ate at Son Asian this evening. We had a full order of the crab dragons and we split the lemon chicken dinner. I had the painkiller cocktail pictured. The painkiller tasted so good but I don't think there was much alcohol content. The crab dragons were good. The lemon chicken dinner was average. The waitress was good. The only complaint we really had was that the napkins that our silverware was wrapped in smelled awful, they smelled like old cooking oil. The prices were not that great for what you get but I have seen worse these days.

Very casual restaurant with super-friendly wait staff. The food is some of the best in Jasper, especially the sushi and fried rice.

If you sit at the bar look up at the ceiling it transports you! Service was great from the moment I walked in, seated immediately by the smiling hostess. The bartender was nice and I could tell he knew the menu. You have to try the Lychee Martini! I had the golden dragon roll, it's an off menu item now but is topped with baked salmon. It's my favorite menu item! Also had the BG roll very refreshing! For dessert try their award winning Ube Cheesecake!

My partner had the Chicken Lettuce Wraps and it felt a bit lacking. For the second course I had the Onaga Shiso Roll - while it did have an extremely thin cut of red snapper it was still very good mainly because I was able to apple spicy mayo - eel sauce and wasabi. I don't think it could stand on its own but it was still good non the less. My partners Miso Glazed Steak came out a bit cold but the portion was very generous. And for dessert the Ube Cheesecake was a nice highlight and a contrast to the Tempura Fried Ice Cream as it seemed to also be sitting out for awhile , we cracked it as soon as it was brought and it bled out on the table. I saw my cocktail waiting on the counter for awhile and I only got it after my appetizers arrived. Not sure why the bartender wasn't able to bring it over if the server was busy as he just left the bar area entirely. I think the decoration is beautiful but the flow and restraunts identity still needs to be discovered.

Service was friendly although a bit slow. We each got a rice bowl and shared the stuffed mushroom appetizer. I opted for the gyudon beef bowl. It came with very tender cubed ribeye and mushrooms on top of flavorful rice. I would've liked if it had more beef though. The stuffed mushrooms were fried and crispy, although the "stuffing" was lacking as well. The katsu kare don was one of the better tonkatsu I've tried and very reasonable for the price too. I'd probably go with that one if I come back.

Upon arrival, I was told that I could not sit at the sushi bar and eat. If I wanted to order I had to go sit in the common area of this dining hall. After this discussion, I said fine and asked for a menu. They then told me I had to get up and order at the register and view the menu glued to the counter. They took the order of a couple who sat down maybe 2 minutes before me in front of me. I will never come back to this place. They seem to be the last man standing in this dining hall, and with this kind of customer service, they won't last much longer. It's a shame because I love the food and I am a regular at handies and aiko as well. Won't be back to any of them.

The restaurant itself was pretty packed - there wasn't any parking (but they do have an overflow lot you can use). Inside the vibe was nice & upscale. It was surprisingly not intimate & was a little loud. The bathroom hallway was very cool (as the other reviews have said) I got the three course lunch w/ an added chutoro nigiri. The restaurant week lunch was fine, but the nigiri really stood out. I wish they would've had even just one nigiri on the restaurant week menu. The kombu salad was good & had nice flavor without being too overpowering. The hamachi crudo was awesome!! I'm a big crudo fan, but this one was above and beyond my expectations. All of the flavors played so well together & my yellowtail was so fresh and light and buttery. I loved the creaminess of the sauce & how it balanced the acidity of the tomatoes & onion so well. I savored every bite. Honestly the hand rolls left a lot to be desired. The kani hand role wasn't super great. The flavor was mid & the texture felt a bit off. I also thought sake hand roll was just ok.. My chutoro nigiri was also awesome. The cut was beautiful & the fish was super fresh and had an awesome texture. It just melted in my mouth. I'll definitely be back to try the lunch nigiri tasting menu. I'd recommend trying this place, just make sure to get the crudo or nigiri

We had to track down our server who then had to also be the bartender despite the fact that there were multiple people in the kitchen that could have assisted him. It was kind of frustrating because while we were in the midst of our food our friend who did arrive about ten minutes behind did not even get her drink order. I did appreciate that he specifically pointed out that due to the size of our group, they already added gratuity. I think there is less of an issue with this particular server as opposed to all the other people that could have helped him. Food: I enjoyed all the food and the drinks. I did the chicken satay, which wasn't traditional for what I'm used to from Singapore but it seemed like everyone in my group enjoyed it. I also did the lotus leaf which was absolutely delicious. Venue: this place almost doesn't deserve to be in the woodlands, and more feels like it would be more appreciated in houston. I absolutely thought it was fantastic and loved it. And loved all the care that went into it. Value: I had two happy hour beers and three appetizers, and my bill was less than fifty. I was totally full and had room for leftovers. The next day. I think everyone should try this place. It is a unique experience with lots of different foods.

It was flavorful with a balanced spice level that builds as you eat, but it is not overwhelming. I also appreciated that they offer extra spice on the side if you want to turn up the heat, which I did not need, but it is nice to have the option. The seasoned egg was definitely a highlight. It was perfectly cooked with that soft, jammy center and well marinated flavor. It is always a good sign when the egg is done right. The only thing I would tweak next time is the protein choice. The chicken itself was a little on the bland side compared to how bold the broth was. It was not bad, just did not stand out. I would probably try the chashu next time for a richer bite. Is it the best ramen I have ever had? No. Is it good? Absolutely. It is a dependable spot with quality ingredients and solid flavor, and I would definitely come back again.
