Little store really packs a punch. They have a LOT of stuff in there! Great selection of mopani and spider wood, tanks, backgrounds, other misc supplies, but their selection of fish? Wow. Huge selection, tanks are in pristine condition with crystal clear water, no dead fish, and some unusual offerings. Plenty of saltwater, freshwater and cichlids to choose from. This place is AMAZING! I was starting up my 10 gallon again and I wanted to try my luck out in planted tanks so I asked my buddy and he told me about this place. The best petshop near me is Two Turtles and this place blows it away. Selection and variety is so mind blowing but I'm just an average fish keeper. The parking is rather limited as we had to "make" a spot but it's well worth the drive from Akron. The store itself is kinda cramped and it has a weird setup. Small shop connected to what looks like a barn, which is probably their warehouse. There's also a couch with a tv in there. There's a lot of stuff here and it might possibly be my go to shop not even thought it's like an hour from me. I dig it! read more

I never see so many different kinds of cichlids all at once! They have healthy frisky fish. Don't let the outside look fool you. The owner (I think he is) is really nice. He tried to sex apistos and rams for me and told me he thinks all rams they have at a time are males after he spent quite awhile staring at them. I appreciated his honesty and care for his customers. I ended up buying 3 bags of fish and he bagged them really well. I could tell by that he is a reputable breeder/seller and he cares what he does. If you never been there, better go and find out what's behind the blue door! You won't be disappointed. read more

I visited this store for the first this past weekend! Great driftwood, natural rock selection! They have some cool odd ball fish! Very very knowledgeable staff!! I will definitely be back!! Great LFS! Has lots of cichlids from large to small. Dave is nice guy and is very helpful. Prices are a little too high sometimes, depending on what your looking for. Shop can feel a little too small when there are a lot of customers. I try to go on the week days when it's slower. read more

This is by far the best store out there if you are looking to buy healthy, well cared for fish!! I do not understand the negative comment made stating that the fish are over priced or the owner is rude as I have never experienced either as a customer! Dave and Larry are experienced and care a great deal for the animals they sell!! And their prices are more than reasonable. I have always been given good advice and gotten healthy fish from them! On Saturday We visited something fishy on state rd . I bought a marine 360 on sale as the owner put it with 3 left . When I got home I opened it and the plexi glass was scratched the whole way around . My friend bought a deep blue light bar - led . On sale from 110.00 to 67.00 . It was recommended by the owner . When we got home We opened it and a bulb was shattered. They were closed on Sunday . I called Monday and asked the owner David if I could exchange the marine 360 tank for one without scratches ? He tried to blame me for scratching it . Then I asked him to either replace the bulb or swap out the light bar for one not broken . He accused me of dropping it . Saying it was my fault . The only fault of mine is I trusted him and did not open it on the counter when we purchased it . He (David) does not stand behind his products . I asked him to give me 25.00 back so I could get a new bulb . He said it was my issue now . Call deep blue . All my sales are final . When he opened the other marine 360,s they all had scratches on them . Imagine that? We spent 125.00 that day and wS planning on coming back to buy a 300.00filter and fish . With David's terrible customer service standards and lack of genuine caring about his customers. We will not return . Alert***- if you buy something other than fish - take the time to open it at the counter and inspect everything piece by piece or you will be SOL! read more

This is a tiny store located at the corner, most famous for their Cichlid. If you are into Cichlid, this is the store for you. They also sell drift wood and basic aquarium supplies. Don't have much freshwater plants, usually almost none, unless you are lucky and visit the store when they happen to have some plants there. Overall, a great place for Cichlid fish and supply. Not so much for someone who wanted a planted tank. The owner can be pretty helpful. He will likely direct you to local stores around the area if you are looking for something different that they don't carry. read more

If you are looking for fish supplies, check Something Fishy out. They focus on African Cichlids, but have other fish as well. At one point they were doing some saltwater, but I think for the most part, it's freshwater now. The owner, Dave Hale, has literally hundreds of tanks in the store and breeds many of his own fish. He is very helpful with regard to helping out with tank set up and stocking. You will NOT get this kind of service at a chain store that has an aquarium section. read more
