Along with being rude to a customer all because we did not bring papers with us to prove our chows age(??), even when it specified we did not need any vax records or age anything, she did not take out word? Why ? Because it was two female in there? Because it was younger ladies, and you don't know how to out biased aside? A POS place, we walked out and will never be returning. After I left my first review on how my dog was groomed, I found a spot where they actually cut him with the clippers. The spot is the size of a quarter. I just can't believe they failed to tell us at the time we picked him up that this had happened. I feel that by them failing to tell us about the wound is nothing but abuse. We could have taken him to the vet right away if they had had the decency to bring that to our attention.We will be taking him to the vet today to get his wound treated. read more

When me and my older sister went, we asked for our Husky/Germen Shepherd to get groomed and a few extra's. He is a very playful dog, who always gets muddy; he came back extremely clean and smelling amazing, as well. I took my dog to get her nails clipped and they were so very good with her. She gets a little agitated with strangers, but especially when she gets her nails clipped. They were kind and patient with her. The grooming prices are very reasonable. The store is always clean and organized. They are also so very helpful. They offer a lot of services as well as training, grooming and veterinary services. I recommend this pet store for all you pet needs. The only thing that I'm disappointed with is that they used to have a wonderful selection of clothes for small dogs and the last couple times I've been there I haven't been able to find anything. read more

I honestly have no complaints with this location.. It's smaller then the ones I've been down south but convenient they have a Banfield Hospital inside along with a grooming section! The people at the hospital always greet June with hugs and kisses which is amazing! And the people that I've met to get him groomed absolutely love him!!! It is a bit pricey to get a trim for a Pomeranian but this is the only place I've taken him to get groomed since we got to Ohio and he isn't freaked out by the people here... Over the last year I've had some pretty bad experiences with the grooming department at the PetSmart but today took it over the edge and I feel I need to write a review. A week and a half ago I made appointments for both my dogs to get haircuts for this morning. This morning I received a phone call that one of the groomers has called off sick and both my dogs appointments would be canceled, 40 minutes before they're supposed to be there. Although the woman on the phone was nice, she wasn't a groomer so she was unhelpful. This cancellation should have only applied to one of my dogs, as they were seeing different groomers. I called back to clarify why this had happened and spoke to Priscilla who was extremely rude. She said she was double booked and that's why she couldn't get my dog in. I asked why I was just now finding out instead of when I made the original appointment and she began yelling at me to stop interrupting her (I wasn't, she kept interrupting me) and blamed their new computer system which has been in place for almost a year. I told her I had looked at their schedule and seeing as how it is almost the holiday there is literally no other time for me to bring them in based on their availability and it would have been nice to be told before the morning of. She then rudely said, well I called yesterday, as if that was going to be any better. She then rudely said "I guess I can put a discount on your account but there is no way I can fit them in." I generally liked the service they provided although they were more expensive than most places in the area, after this I will not be back. Priscilla was completely rude and out of line in the way she spoke to me. It was uncalled for and had I spoke to a customer like that in my job, I would be fired. I understand being stressed and having a packed day but that is absolutely no way to treat a customer. I couldn't trust her to not mess up my dog's grooming after this interaction. I will no longer be using PetSmart for grooming. read more

I will NEVER use this company ever again! Where do I start???? I used to LOVE petsmart! I bragged about using their grooming services. My moms one dog couldn't get her services done there due to her seizures which we understood. So we have been taking my moms dog Cocoa there for years! Cocoa has always been skinny she is a peek a poo. She is a naturally nervous dog because she is part poodle. Every now and again we would get her back looking a little rough and choppy. My mom NEVER complained. It's hair is grows out. We figured hey maybe it's someone new. We would then give better instructions next time. They have our history in their computers so we always say the same as last time. Sometimes she looked great and others it was bad. We kept going because we trusted them in the long run for the safety of our family member. Cocoa is now 15 1/2 years old! Nearly 16 and doing great. She goes to the vet regularly, has a clean bill of health other then age related items, and is super well behaved. Now onto the reason I will NEVER step foot into petsmart again. After years of service and not complaining about anything we took cocoa to get groomed per usual. This time my mom was given the dog back after paying $45 and tip. My mom was informed they would no longer groom her. Not because of any reason other then they said she shakes and is too skinny. Ummm she is 16 and still in the correct weight range maybe a little low if any per the vet. She has ample food they acted as if we starve our dog and my mom said she felt as if they were hinting towards she gives Cocoa malnutrition. We free feed because of how skinny she is, our other dog needs a diet! We don't limit food so cocoa can eat. We have tried many alternatives and give her people food she likes. She has always been skinny! They also talked about her shaking. She has always had some shaking to her since she is part poodle. However due to once again age cocoa does suffer with arthritis in her back legs just like people. She shakes going to the bathroom but the vet still says she's ok. This place is so lucky they didn't say this to me because I would have done something about it. Their staff has the right to refuse service but doesn't need to make my mom feel shitty about something out of her control and make her seem like an abusive person. How would anyone like to be told those things. This was a few months back I had to let the rage settle before but I'm still furious! I will forever boycott them! I have their competitors to use. I will always tell people they are rude and ridiculous. I found a cheaper groomer that was so good with her and made her look better then pet smart ever did! read more

Gave them another chance and rescheduled for 3 weeks later and that appmt Cole told me he couldn't take my dog because he wanted to go eat lunch. Customer service awful. Doing the time there lady not paying attention and clipping someones dogs'nails too short. Inexperienced people and awful customer service. 2 customers behind me in line saw how I was treated and walked out with their pets too. Stay away from this place. This location was a huge surprise. We went in there just to get some cat food and fell in love with a puppy. So, naturally he came home with us and has been a delightful addition to our family. We even set up puppy classes. Of course he was a total puppy failure in the class and has been a rotten nightmare. But, we love him. The store was clean and the staff was fantastic! We had to bring in our other dog to make sure they all got a long and the Petsmart staff spoiled them rotten. It was easy to find out cat food and there was plenty of parking. Worst experience at a PetSmart. I have gone to this location for several years. Both my cats go to the Banfield and we've always had glowing reviews. Today after chemo I went in for a particular brand and flavor of food for them. When I didn't see it I asked an associate if they were going to receive it in or if another store might have it. He seemed flustered then came back and told me simply "no, and they can't check". When I asked if there was any way to please call another store as I have cancer and am trying to just get this and get home before I get sick, the associate brought someone else out who told me simply "no we don't do that but I could do it myself if I wanted. The lack of compassion was appalling. I'm one of the clients that chose to continue to come to you and support during the pandemic and after and you don't have a policy where you can be compassionate. Very poor show. read more

Awful grooming experience! The groomers did a terrible job and shaved my dog without even asking my permission to do so! When I dropped off my dog they examined his hair and said 2-3 inches off. Do not take your dog to this groomer you will regret it! My dog looks like a completely different dog unrecognizable. I expressed my disappointment when I picked up my dog and they girl told me they had no other choice but to shave him or they wouldn't of finished his hair cut! By far the worst grooming experience and I will not be returning! If you have a poodle mix of any kind do not waste your money or time going here. read more

I brought my dog to The PARMA PetSmart for GROOMING. I was treated very unprofessionally by Maryssa! I brought in the shot record book instead of the actual shot record print out and was denied service. I get that. But what struck me as odd and down right disrespectful was that Maryssa never asked if I wanted to reschedule plus she never even looked at me, and her tone was if I was getting on her nerves. I bring my cat there for grooming as well and couldn't believe the poor customer service she displayed. I booked my dog for the same service at North Olmsted PetSmart and got an appointment in 2weeks. Hopefully all goes well at North Olmsted because if not I'll will No Longer spend my dollars with PetSmart Groomers and you all can Thank Maryssa The Evil Dog Groomer for sending a customer away! read more

Simple nail clipping and they require "In order to maintain a safe, comfortable environment, we require all pets to be current on their rabies vaccinations and to wait at least 48 hours after any vaccinations before checking in." Not sure what rocket scientist came up with this policy but a few years back Petsmart grooming did not require this. If that rabies vaccination is so important than Petsmart must require compliance from all customers with pets entering the store otherwise they would need be maintaining "a safe, comfortable environment". Apparently that rabies vaccination tag that your vet gives you after your pet's vaccination is not good enough nor do these rocket scientists have a system to verify that tag. Now here's where it gets interesting .. and greedy. We also tried to get our dog's nails clipped at the in store vet's office. Yeah ... they would do it but its $45 for an office visit plus the clipping! I will add that we had used their grooming services with a pet that had passed several years ago and they were so rough with her and her leg that had been pinned that she made a mess and yelped. Avoid these people at all costs and save yourself and your pet the aggravation and potential harm like we experienced. If they require proof of rabies vaccination then they must also have proof of a recent Bordetella vaccine that "is a non-core vaccine that is given to dogs that are frequently exposed to other dogs in boarding or social settings". Apparently the rocket scientists at Petsmart have failed at this requirement as well. Your dog (or cat or even yourself) is more at risk from Bordetella bronchiseptica than rabies. read more

I wouldn't recommend this store to my worst enemy! I took my cat there for a shave trusting that they knew what they were doing. Boy was I wrong my cat was placed in a cone and wasn't even given a proper shave. Then told me my cat that is declawed scratched and bit the lady doing his shave.If my cat was too hard to handle than they should've called me to pick the cat up why put yourself and my cat through that. Never again will I bring my cat to your store because your employees are not trained nor do they know how to care properly for animals. My cat was also nicked two times on his stomach by staff that don't know how to care for him. read more

I have taken my schnauzer for a bath and nail trim many times with no issues. I decided to get him a haircut this time. I understand that my version of short hair might be different than the groomer's version of short hair. But scalping the dog is beyond short hair. Two days later, his skin is still red, irritated and he yelps if I touch it. I will have to take him to the doctor. In addition, his face was butchered. I asked for a trim of his mustache. 2-3 inches was cut off and it's uneven and jagged. The groomer didn't even have the decency to tell me what went wrong. If fact, she was way in the back and didn't even speak to me. On top of that, they make you sign a waiver for the haircut, by hiding the actual waiver with paper and showing only the part where you have to sign. I've never had to sign a waiver for my dog's haircut anywhere else. I guess PetSmart takes no responsibility for their actions. I will never go back there. read more

Just recently bought a Guinea pig from this PetSmart. I purchased him for $30 and have now spent over $200 on him for medical issues. He has had ringworm and his head is tilted which could be caused by an inner ear infection. I have to take him back to the vet tomorrow and probably get him started on antibiotics which will be pricey. I refused to take him back knowing that Petsmart would just kill him. I called to inform them of the health of this baby Guinea pig and they basically blew me off. I highly recommend not purchasing any animal from here. But other than that I wouldn't worry about just general supply shopping as I have had no problems with that. Never been to the grooming section but would never trust my dogs in their hands. read more

I can't say anything about the pet services division of Petsmart but we visited the store at Ridge Road recently and was horrified by the treatment we received by the aquatic department manager. It's unlikely we will be back anytime soon (as in EVER). The store manager called to apologize. How rewarding that was. I spoke with another friend in another city who had an even worse experience at a Petsmart store. This chain is NOT recommended. I don't need help feeling stupid but the "manager" in the aquatics dept must have been a mermaid in a previous life to take away the usual guarantee on fish because we were putting algae eaters in our tank with a goldfish. I didn't get the memo but for three years we never had a problem with them sharing space and all of a sudden we were practically told we were stupid people. Looking for great customer service? I was horrified by the treatment my dog received when he was groomed. He had significant cuts and razor burns all over his body. The groomer never said anything about them, only that he was 'so bad' that she had to restrain him with muzzles and collars. (He weighs 18 pounds) I was stunned, as he had been groomed there many times in the past and I had never been told this. Our regular groomer was on maternity leave, but because of the positive experiences I had I didn't hesitate to use a different groomer. BIG mistake - one I will never make again. This groomer was unfriendly and rude to me and obviously did not treat my dog with the professional care I had come to expect from this facility. I will never return to this store and I definitely would never recommend it's grooming services to anyone. read more
