Forgot to take pictures! I really love their donuts. I feel like it hits the spot. I got their devils chocolate donut and ube bismark. The chocolate one is a delicious and moist cake donut. The bismark is a nice, fluffy and not sweet yeasted donut. I like how their glazed icing doesn't melt off and stays on. It doesn't over power the donuts either. More compliments it. We stumbled upon Somethin' Sweet Donuts by suprise. We had time to kill before an appointment and I was searching for something with ube. We came for the ube biscoff but also tried some of their other donut varieties as well as their coffee and teas. The staff is helpful with recommendations as we were slightly overwhelmed being our first time here. We were happy with our choices. The line may look long, but it moves fast! What are the odds that I would be craving a donut on National Donut Day!?! Very likely, actually! I didn't realize there was a holiday going on until I got there and was wondering what all the excitement was about! There was a long line (out the door long) because they were offering buy one get one on their classic style donuts. Tell me how I walked out with 1/2 a dozen. What made my day even more was because the deal was for just one donut but I was getting the 1/2 dozen and had selected 2 specialty donuts, he gave me one of those for free instead, as they aren't included in the 1/2 dozen classic box. I also tried a smoothie for the first time and it was delicious, creamy, and smooth. Their Churro donut is literally a mix of churro and donut and I wanna know how they did that!? Fantastic locally owned donut shop, the service is always prompt and pleasant. They always have 20+ donut varieties including mochi donuts, bismarcks, etc. I usually get a coffee and a donut and it is consistently great. After my eye check-ip across the street, I stopped by to get coffee. I was pleasantly surprised to see ube donut . I of coutse had to get it as well as raspberry bismark, chocolate frosted bavarian cream and leek and parmesan pastry. They were all delicious, dough was soft and pillowy, the filling is not overly sweet. BTW, they have matcha-filled donuts as well for the matchaddicts. Even the leek parmesan pastry is on point. The coffee, big shoulders, I later learned is also a Chicago-local brand. It's deep and robust, just the way I like it with my sweets. They make most of their donuts fresh to order. Overall I've had good experiences here except one time when I tried to order birthday donuts. I tried to customize donuts for a special occasion, they agreed, and when we showed up we were given plainly decorated donuts with the standard happy birthday colors. This was disappointing and they didn't do much to make it right. However I understand they are a small family business. I still support them as their donuts and coffee are always on point but wouldn't customize anything with them again. read more

My coworker brought a box of celebratory donuts for my milestone birthday at work, and I thoroughly enjoyed all the flavors, almost as much as I enjoyed the whisper singing version of "Happy Birthday" because someone was on a conference call. Craving a fresh donut and I stumbled upon this Roscoe Village neighborhood gem on DoorDash. I couldn't choose just one so I selected 6 and a fruit smoothie with tapioca. My order arrived as expected but there was no boba in my smoothie. I had a handwritten note from the store they were out of tapioca and so they gave me a free donut! Perfect! It was more than what the refund would be and the other donut flavor I wanted to try. The donuts were delicious! Light fluffy texture for the yeast donuts and just sweet enough without being a sugar overload. The fresh fruit smoothie was mango strawberry with no artificial additions. The chocolate old fashioned has the best combination of chocolate frosting to donut ratio. The Apple fritter is flatter than you might expect but the flavor is wonderful. The pumpkin spice cake donut is lighter than your average cake donut perfectly spiced. Can't wait to try the rest! Thoughtful service and delicious fresh baked donuts. I love donuts and have been meaning to try this place for forever. Apple fritters are my absolute favorite so I'm always try those when available and am always on the hunt for a good one. While their apple fritters may not look like much at first glance I'm happy to report that they're delicious. Excellent apple flavor with a tasty glaze and crunch exterior. They're flatter than other fritters I've had but that actually works out because puffy fritters can tend to be too doughy which drowns out the apple flavor and ends up tasting like bread. Not here! The glazed raspberry jelly bismark was also delicious and the jelly filling tasted super fresh and not at all fake or processed. I'm typically not a cake donut fan but I got an apple crisp and a glazed red velvet to try since people had raved about them. They were both very tender and not dry at all but the apple one could've used more of an apple flavor. Red velvet was great and I'd definitely get it again.
