Small burritos - A small item wrapped in aluminum foil with a handwritten label 'PACA' on it is positioned on a speckled granite countertop. The foil is crinkled and the label appears to be written with a black marker. The countertop has a textured appearance with various shades of brown, black, and beige.

I really like this place, especially for quick, simple lunches for the kids. The first time I came, I was genuinely impressed -- the bean and cheese burritos were great, with the perfect tortilla-to-filling ratio. Unfortunately, that consistency hasn't lasted. Lately, the burritos have gotten smaller, and now there's way more tortilla than filling. I ordered an asada burrito for $10 and was really disappointed -- barely any meat inside, definitely not worth the price. We used to love the quesadillas too, but now you have to ask for extra cheese just to get what used to be standard. I don't know if management is telling the kitchen to cut corners, but if this keeps up, you're going to lose loyal customers. Consistency matters As for The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming.

Green chile burrow - A white plate holds a burrito wrapped in a flour tortilla, along with Mexican rice and refried beans topped with melted cheese. There is shredded lettuce with diced tomato on the side. In the background, a tray contains salsa and guacamole, with additional food items partially visible. The setting appears to be a casual dining restaurant.

Nice vibe in this place, not many places to sit because tables weren't cleaned up. Food was amazing! This was my first time here. Definitely will eat at this place again, just maybe not dine in..

A burrito wrapped in a flour tortilla is placed on a white, oval-shaped plate alongside a small portion of salad containing lettuce, tomato, and dressing. The plate is on a wooden table, with condiment bottles visible in the background, indicating a casual dining setting at Someburros in Buckeye, Arizona.

we had the Potato cheese bacon and egg burrito it was excellent the service was fast and the ambience is always amazing, 27 dollars in all. music is fantastic.

Green chile quesadilla - Three quesadillas with golden-brown, slightly crispy tortillas and melted cheese are arranged on a white plate. The quesadillas contain green peppers and are served with a side of shredded lettuce and chopped tomato. The image captures a close-up view of the dish, highlighting the texture of the tortillas and the fresh salad garnish.

Yes, Yes, Yes! Today, my husband said let's try this place…read more I said ok! As we got closer, I realized I've been in the area several times. I have never ate at any of rhe places though. You order at the counter and the food comes out to the table. You can tell this place is family owned. The owners, whom I assumed were there tonight, were lovely people. While we waited, the woman who took our order brought out a basket of chips with refried beans and fresco queso on top with a side of salsa. Woah! What? Epic. But wait! A few minutes later, a precious girl with the most warm inviting, and beautiful smile came out with 2 warm, homemade corn tortillas, with salsa and cheese for us. These were just complimentary extras we didn't expect at all. Soo good. The restaurant is a humble place. Cute, clean, inviting and roomy. There is an inside seating area and an outdoor section. Someone was grilling meat out front. I think, the owner. I ordered a chili relleno combo. It comes with rice, beans, tortillas, and a drink. Hubs ordered two carne asada tacos, and a carne asada sope. I didn't try anything my husband ordered. ( I was laser focused on my meal lol) But it looked really good. He said, you can tell, they make their food with love. Yes, yes, yes, you can. My dish, was the best chili relleno I have had the entire 5 yrs I have been living in AZ. And the beans were phenomenal. Honestly, I prefer eating at places like this. We came for an impromptu date night. I can say it was one of the best meals and date nights I've had in a while. Thank you. Y'all are gonna see me alot. :)

From the moment you walk in, you can feel that this is a family-run establishment. The atmosphere is welcoming and genuine, and the staff treats you like you've been coming there for years. Everyone is incredibly friendly, attentive, and efficient--service is impressively fast without ever feeling rushed, which is something that's hard to find. The food is where Don Ponchos really shines. Everything tastes fresh, homemade, and deeply rooted in authentic flavors. The tacos al pastor are an absolute standout--perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with bold flavor in every bite. You can really taste the balance of spices and the care that goes into preparing them. Another must-try is the tostada de ceviche. It's refreshing, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying, with just the right amount of citrus and freshness that makes it perfect, especially on a warm Arizona day. And don't overlook the chips and beans--they're simple but so well done. The beans are rich, creamy, and full of flavor, making them the perfect complement to the freshly made chips. It's one of those small touches that really elevates the whole experience. Don Ponchos isn't just a place to eat--it's a place that makes you feel at home while serving up truly authentic, delicious Mexican cuisine. If you're in Avondale and craving something genuine and comforting, this spot is absolutely worth visiting again and again.

I'd gotten the chicken plate, and LOVED it. Great cook on everything and really flavorful bites all around. (would have loved a spicier salsa option, tho). Ambiance is simple and open. We decided to try again at this new location. It was good. The ribeye tacos are really good, as are the potato tacos (try them!). Our food arrived hot and everything was good. Personally I'm not a fan of their salsas. And I think it's lame to have to separately order chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. Especially considering their prices are astronomical for Mexican food. And the chips and salsa are not cheap. But those are nit-picks. I'd say good overall. For me it's not anything great, and it's not a good, old, "family-style" Mexican restaurant with red plastic soda tumblers and plentiful chips and salsa. It's more of a "boutique" Mexican-inspired restaurant. Decent for sure, but the prices for me are way high for what it is (a taqueria really). Still, give it a try. I think when they're hitting on all cylinders their food is great.

I left to make an appointment at the nearby nail salon and came back and they were still back there frying my fish - which, as mentioned, was chef's kiss otherwise. I loved my blue pineapple/coconut milk drink. This place is known for its beverages. Can't complain.
