Omg! The best bubble tea I've had in a long time!
I got the House Boba Milk Tea (large for $5.75). I asked for it to be "less sweet than usual" and it was perfect. I love how they use fresh milk, and none of that powdered mystery white stuff that looks like Coffee Mate that some places use. They also use organic tea. The drink was huge and the same price or less than national chains but tasted so much better. There was a strong tea flavour to the drink and it was creamy without being too rich. The boba were sweet and had a brown sugar taste to them. They were chewy and slightly warm.
The man serving me was really nice. They opened in October 2021. I really hope this small independently owned business makes it because they are on the second floor of the L'Esplanade Laurier Building and while this building was hopping pre-Covid-19 Pandemic, these days, it's pretty deserted, as is the entire downtown core. They are only open on weekdays and not in the evenings, so right now I can only go on my days off (since I work on the other side of town during their opening hours), which is a pity. Wish I could go more often.
They also serve regular and fancy coffee and tea. They have Matcha Lattes, London Fogs, and such. They also have waffles, croissants, cheesecake and sandwiches.
They are tricky to find. My suggestion is to take the external/outside stairs to the second floor, enter those doors, then go straight. You will see them to your right. If you enter the building on the main floor (to the left of Eggspectations) and go up the internal/inside spiral staircase, you'll have to turn left, walk down the hallway and it will be to your left. Or just ask the security guard where it is, like I did, lol.
These guys need more internet presence and more external signage. They are too hidden. I was deliberately looking for them and still had a hard time finding them. If you are in the Centretown area, I recommend you give them a try. read more
