I've been wanting to try Meow Tea ever since it opened, but it's in an area that I don't frequent, so it took me a while to get there. I finally did recently and I have to say, I thought it was ok, but nothing special IMO. I got the regular-sized classic milk tea $5.19 and added tapioca pearls for an additional $0.50. I found this a bit pricey for a regular pearl milk tea. I asked them if it was made with powdered milk or fresh milk. They said if I wanted fresh milk it was an additional $1. I decided to pass on that because I found the price high enough as is. I clarified if it was made with powdered milk or non-dairy creamer. They said it was my choice, so I went with powdered milk. I wonder what the default it. Anyway, the drink was rich and creamy, but I didn't taste too much tea flavour. Also, I got 30% sweet and it was plenty sweet, so I'd hate to see what full strength sweetness is. The tapioca pearls were way too soft and not chewy enough for my liking. Service was courteous and they were patient with all my questions. I did see on the menu that they have something called "Meow Bowls" were you essentially choose toppings in a bowl and then they add milk, milk tea or coconut milk. Once when I was standing in line at another bubble tea place, I overheard a guy in line ask his friend if his friend thought they would sell him just a cup of tapioca pearls, lol. He said he loved tapioca pearls and he just wanted to eat a whole bowl of it, haha. Well, I guess he can go to Meow Tea! ;) Anyway, I'm glad that I tried this place. My drink wasn't bad, but in my opinion, it wasn't anything special, and for the price, I would rather get something else. I do believe in supporting small local businesses, so maybe I'll return to try their mochi bread or some other sweets. The store is on Elgin Street, so street parking only.

Cute bubble tea spot on Elgin St! Quite tasty but the pearls could be softer and chewier. Lots of indoor seating.

Good service and good tasting tea! We got the brown sugar boba milk and it was great. The tapioca texture was good and the drink comes in a cute cup. There's plenty of seating and it's a good location to get a take out and walk around.

Title: Worth a try, but won't return. I am really sceptical about all of those bubble tea places because there is just too much of them. They may have shiny packaging pictures online, but taste would be mediocre. That is what happened here unfortunately. I like the concept and the way they made their branding, but damn, the bubble tea should be the main focus I guess especially when 2 Preso Teas are around you. Try it, maybe you will like - is my usual phrase for 3 star reviews!

I was attracted to the logo! The interior decor is bright and equipped with a few small tables and stools. They have quite a selection on their menu. Nothing really sticks out as unique except for their taro pearls (which has been sold out when I visited). I've tried their milk tea and one of their fruit lemonades. Both were really good. It is not my all time favourite bubble tea spot but still a pretty good one. I will definitely drop by if I am in the area.

I came to check out this new bubbletea place after seeing it under construction on Elgin. It looks very similar in logo to Mooshu ice cream but I don't believe they are related. The menu and cups reminded me a lot of sip tea, with their fruity flavors, cheese teas, and cup design. I tried a taro milk tea, which came with jellies at the bottom. I was disappointed they had no opening specials/discounts (which is one of the reasons I go to Coco probably once a week, lol)! The drink was just as expensive as Sip Tea, which was about $7 (with tax) for a large. I got 30% sugar and no ice, and found the tea very light-tasting. I wish the taro flavour was more pronounced; it tasted pretty much like a regular milk tea. What stood out were the interiors; it's very bright, clean, and cozy inside, with an assortment of baked goods lining the front window area (not sure if the baked goods would be chosen from there and given to you, if you choose to order some)! It was reassuring to see the workers juice fresh fruits while I drank the tea. I wouldn't be excited to come back, unless they had a promotion or a very unique flavour.

Was in Ottawa during the last week of summer and both me and my S.O. were looking through Google for a bubble tea shop nearby to satisfy our boba cravings. Who knew there was one literally a 3 minute walk across the street from our hotel? Talk about convenience. I would write down what we had both ordered but it has been a few months and I cannot seem to recall. I just know I got something with Oolong and the S.O. got an orange flavoured drink. Both were really good and made according to our tastes. They do ask for your ice and sugar preference so there's the plus. Staff were very friendly and honestly even if the drinks were mediocre, I would have just gone simply for the cat theme, this place could have gone the cat cafe route but legalities with having live animals in a food establishment is quite firmly frowned upon here. Quite unfortunate. If I do return to Ottawa in the future, this shop will still be my go-to as it does seem to be a mom and pop and I love mom and pop places.

I was really looking forward to trying the bubbletea here but ended up disappointed. There is not much of variety of drinks to choose from for warmer options - maybe I should try returning here during summer. I had the original milk tea which comes with tapioca - the tea had a weird flavour to it and the tapioca didn't feel very fresh. I loved the packaging though - one of the nicest ones I've seen in Canada. The place itself was closed due to Covid-19 and there are only takeouts. The service was alright - pretty much like every other bubbletea place I've been to. I would probably recommend this place if you are going for a cold tea as their warm tea is so-so.

This is such a cute bbt place! The non-milk bubbleteas were really tasty and pretty as well (the colour gradients!!!). I haven't tried their milk teas yet but the drinks I got with my partner were amazing! The flavours were accurate to what they were labelled as and tasted good as well. The reason for the rating is that it's still a very generic bbt taste (don't get me wrong, they nail it though!!). I just think the difference between other bbt places and this one is that there's a cat aesthetic. I just think there should be a little something more to really set it apart! I am being critical though but that's because bbt has become such a huge competition over the years! Regardless, this is still one of the better bbt places I've been

This was a pretty good place. I found it on Yelp, and it was quite nice. They offer some teas, and I got the taro milk tea, which I have to say, was one of the best ones I've had! What I really loved was that the Tapioca pearls were VERY fresh. I could literally feel the heat of freshly boiled tapioca on the bottom of the cup! Would come back, though there was only ONE staff member at the time I was there. Overall good place, 100% recommend!!!

nice place great customer service! There oolong tea with cheese foam is so good. They also offer different pastry. Like their almond croissant and peach danish. Have been there several time and will go there again. Also they have points card that you can get free drinks after certain times. Recommended

Teas and brownie

If you're looking for a quality, independent bubble tea this is the spot. One of the best things is the hours, we picked this dessert up late night around 12am. The decor is sweet and quaint and the service is really fantastic. They seem like they were really busy but the staff still made sure we had everything we needed. The boba was a little soft but desserts were super delicious. Will definitely be back. Tropical Meow tea was amazing. Mango cream sago smoothie was delicious but more than enough sugar with 50% sugar. Milk tea was very flavourful. Next time will get 70% sugar.
