Mango slush and blueberry tea
Anzor A.

Yes, I guess. I have been there for more 5 times and the experience was great, not all but overall it was. They don't have food, only drinks. I would say the place is not that clean 3.5/5. There are several option I would recommend for you, like pineapple mango slushes. If you wish to take some of the bubble tea, then definitely ask for less sugar because its so sweet as a default. Their prices are high, but they use natural products, most of their teas are REALLY nice, so go and try the top flavors, BTW their sizes are really worth the prices.

Mango slush with coconut milk with tapioca and jelly

This is my favourite bubble tea place in Ottawa. I have been here like over 30 times (they have a bonus system that gives you a free bubble tea for each 16th) and tried almost every flavour of both tea and slushes. My two all-time favourites are the lime passionfruit with seeds and the mango slush with coconut milk and tapioca and jelly. Their slushes are always made from real fruits which is a great thing compared to other places like Chatime and Coco. Their tea is also made from actual tea and not powder. You can also regulate the sugar and ice level as you prefer. The line ups are usually long but the wait time is not - they work really fast.

Large size fresh mango coconut slush

I heard from Presotea many times but hadn't gotten around to it until recently since I'm not downtown often. I was recommended the mango slush from a co-worker. This location looks small from the outside but it's very spacious in the back with tables and chairs, even cushions to lounge and hang out. I ordered the coconut-mango fresh slush. The slush doesn't come with tapioca, it was an add-on. I chose large because most bubble tea places large are not actually that large. SURPRISE! It was huge!! The slush was blended perfectly and the ratio of coconut to mango was perfect, it was delicious. The tapioca pearls were perfectly cooked, not too soft nor too hard. There were also chunks of mango through out which added to the taste. Over-all, I really liked my experience here. Presotea on Rideau will be my go-to bubble tea place when I'm downtown.

Mango lovers everywhere, here's THE place to satisfy your cravings! I wish Montreal had bubble tea places with fresh fruits like this place, or if there is one, please let me know. It looks like they also sell their drinks in light bulb shaped cups, but they looked uncomfortable to use. I guess you'd only get them for aesthetics but we wanted to enjoy our bubble tea so we didn't get one :P. We got a mango slushie with fresh mangos and black and white pearls and mango slushie with basil seeds. The mangos tasted fresh and the slushie was refreshing, perfect for a summer day. It was super filling too, I guess the only problem being you can't finish this as a dessert after a meal :P. I'm craving this right now actually, as I write this 100 miles away from Ottawa. The service was good. We got the right orders in a timely manner, nothing to complain! Overall, 10/10!

I unfortunately received a drink that was not properly sealed that ended up spilling all in my bag. If you're not familiar with bubble tea, the cups are sealed so it can be transported. I called to tell them what happened and they said there was nothing they could do because i had already left the store. Definitely disappointing considering i paid $7 for a mess to clean up.

They have a good variety to choose from. The store at this location is now called "Lazy Panda" with the same and additional staff.

CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice

CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice

My friend tipped me off about the Canada Day drink, which featured a carnival of toppings. It had…read moretapioca pearls, pudding, grass jelly, coconut jelly, and red bean. When she told me about this special, I had the following day to take advantage of this offer before it disappeared. After a great day shopping, I capped it off by getting a drink from this CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice. Driving over to this location made me cut through a part of Ottawa that I used to spend a lot of time walking around. I used to stay at a hotel at 140 Slater Street and it's still a hotel! I reckon that walking from there to this CoCo would take ten minutes. I parked on Bank Street. It was free parking by the time that I got there after 6 pm, so I was thrilled. If you're there during the daytime, you'll have to pay, which is the only downside to visiting this location. This CoCo is on the northwest corner of Bank Street and Somerset Street West. It looks like a tiny store, but it isn't. It's deep when you walk in. I had the nicest woman help me out. I asked if the Canada Day drink was still available. It was. I got it with less ice. The sugar level was fixed. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. It didn't take long for my drink to be ready. I thanked her and happily headed back to my car. The Canada Day drink is the Three Guys Milk Tea, but two other guys in the form of toppings decided to join in on the fun. I will say that you you love toppings in your bubble tea, this one is for you. One word: hefty! My large cup was a third full of toppings. I thoroughly enjoyed this bubble tea on my birthday. You didn't know what toppings you were going to suck up and enjoy with each sip. The milk tea was a perfect balance of strong tea with the perfect milky consistency that you'd expect from CoCo. The fixed sugar wasn't horrible. I'm guessing that it was at 25%, which I was fine with for someone who generally cuts out the sugar. Frankly, I was stuffed eating dinner and having this Canada Day drink with a built-in meal. I loved it all! I liked visiting this store. I hope to do it again when I'm back. It was great dropping by after rush hour and parking for free as if I was getting away with murder. (281)

I'm pretty sure they started out as a ghost kitchen business only taking orders from Doordash and Fantuan (neither of which I use) but then I saw them pop up on UberEats so I decided to give them a try. When I went for pickup, I asked if you can also order in-store and the girl working there said "yes." I also asked her if they plan to be a regular bubble tea shop with seating and all, and she said "eventually." This is great! I guess they are just slowly ramping up business. I got the Strawberry Trupioca ($8.35) which only comes in large, and is strawberry puree on top of milk with "trupioca" which is their version of agar bubbles. I ordered no sugar, but the drink was still really sweet, lol. I still liked it though. The puree is made of real strawberries. The trupioca were light and springy and popped a bit in my mouth. Agar bubbles are my favourite topping so I really liked it. I just wish they gave me more, haha. Pickup was quick and efficient. It's in a converted old house and is where Bite This used to be and before that, Kelly's Liquidation. I love that Westboro is getting more bubble tea shops. Street parking only, which is a pain in the area, especially in the winter with snowbanks everywhere.

She said it was called Deluxe Purple Yam drink or something like that. It was so tasty. The drink was creamy and thick. It had real taro paste and the tapioca was soft and chewy, but not enough tapioca, haha. The second time she got me a Taro milk tea with sweet purple rice. I loved the generous amount of real taro. The rice was interesting in the drink, I liked it. The milk tea was creamy. These were better than the bubble tea I can get in Orleans, haha. But at least I can get bubble tea in Orleans now, when I first moved here there were no bubble tea stores here, but that's a different story.

There's also a small public square with some benches outside that will absolutely be useful for busy summer nights. My recommendation is to grab an ice cream sandwich bar from one of the freezers where you line up to order - great textures, fresh flavours, and lots of fun. Easy to split with a loved one! Prices are a bit high, but Moo Shu sources local ingredients (with the names of local farms on the flavour signs!), and pays employees a livable wage. It's a great place to stop by and support, while trying a delicious new flavour. Their new location is absolutely a step up :)

It really pains me to write a partially negative review of a really cool place like Moo Shu Ice…read moreCream & Kitchen, but if a flavor is inedible, that's a pretty big deal. I showed up around 9:00 on a random Tuesday and the place was impressively packed. The line was snaking out the door but it moved quickly. I've always been a huge fan of French Onion Soup, so when I saw a flavor called French Onion Scoop, I obviously had to get it. It's not good. The quality of the ice cream itself is top-notch (i.e. it's super creamy) but the flavor is just kind of gross. Plus there's a lot of sautéed onion in there and I think there's a reason onion and ice cream have never been combined before. I ate some of my cup but wound up throwing most of it away. To paraphrase Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park, Moo Shu was so preoccupied with whether or not they could make a French Onion Soup inspired ice cream flavor, they didn't stop to think if they should. (I should note I also tried a couple bites of their DunkaMoo's ice cream sandwich and it was really delicious, so obviously they are capable of making an excellent product.)
