When she told me about this special, I had the following day to take advantage of this offer before it disappeared. After a great day shopping, I capped it off by getting a drink from this CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice. Driving over to this location made me cut through a part of Ottawa that I used to spend a lot of time walking around. I used to stay at a hotel at 140 Slater Street and it's still a hotel! I reckon that walking from there to this CoCo would take ten minutes. I parked on Bank Street. It was free parking by the time that I got there after 6 pm, so I was thrilled. If you're there during the daytime, you'll have to pay, which is the only downside to visiting this location. This CoCo is on the northwest corner of Bank Street and Somerset Street West. It looks like a tiny store, but it isn't. It's deep when you walk in. I had the nicest woman help me out. I asked if the Canada Day drink was still available. It was. I got it with less ice. The sugar level was fixed. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. It didn't take long for my drink to be ready. I thanked her and happily headed back to my car. The Canada Day drink is the Three Guys Milk Tea, but two other guys in the form of toppings decided to join in on the fun. I will say that you you love toppings in your bubble tea, this one is for you. One word: hefty! My large cup was a third full of toppings. I thoroughly enjoyed this bubble tea on my birthday. You didn't know what toppings you were going to suck up and enjoy with each sip. The milk tea was a perfect balance of strong tea with the perfect milky consistency that you'd expect from CoCo. The fixed sugar wasn't horrible. I'm guessing that it was at 25%, which I was fine with for someone who generally cuts out the sugar. Frankly, I was stuffed eating dinner and having this Canada Day drink with a built-in meal. I loved it all! I liked visiting this store. I hope to do it again when I'm back. It was great dropping by after rush hour and parking for free as if I was getting away with murder. (281)

Don't know the backstory, but happy that there isn't a reduction in numbers of bubble tea shops in Chinatown, lol. This drink comes with tapioca pearls, sago, and grass jelly (aka Mesona jelly or herbal jelly). I got it 30% sweet with 70% ice. It was plenty sweet and plenty cold, I probably could have gone with no sugar and half ice. The tiny sago balls and big soft chunks of jelly, along with the regular sized tapioca pearls gave the drink a fun texture. The tapioca pearls were soft and chewy. The milk tea was creamy and had a good tea flavour to it. I really enjoyed the drink, just not the dent it made in my wallet. Like with taxes and tip it was close to $9 and it was so small (when you look at my picture, keep in mind that I was once told by a jeweller that my hands are the size of a 10 year old's, lol). The tapioca pearls were soft and chewy, how I like them, but they could have been more generous with the amount as I finished the pearls way before I finished my drink, so was just drinking milk tea with no toppings for most of my drink. Overall 3.5 stars, but I am being generous and rounding up. Hopefully next time they will follow my example of generosity and give me more tapioca, lol. Service was friendly and efficient. Kids had two scoops each, one strawberry, one chocolate. You would think they would serve the ice cream first, then make the BBT. We sat and waited for probably ten minutes before anything showed up and everything was wrong. My one scoop of chocolate came with sprinkles and the sprinkles were hard like rocks. The scoop of ice cream was tiny, like an inch and a half in diameter and tasted like store bought ice cream. The two kids only got one bowl with two scoops, one chocolate and the other strawberry. The BBT came out fine. We had to get her to make another bowl of ice cream for the second child. We were also the only customers in there. The cost came out to over $25 and I think we were charged twice for one of the two scoops. Basically five scoops of ice cream and an $8 BBT. I had been here before the pandemic and it was good, but something changed and I think it was a language barrier. If you're going to have someone facing customers, at least make sure they can understand their own menu! After that debacle, I will never go there again!

Most bubble tea shops just buy dehydrated prepackaged tapioca and they merely boil it in-store. OneZo also makes flavoured tapioca, like mango, cactus and black sesame tapioca. Their tapioca toppings are $1, so more expensive than most places which charge only $0.50-$0.75, but I feel it's worth it. On my first visit, I actually didn't get a drink with tapioca in it, lol, but was enticed by the Strawberry Mochi Niuniu (large for $6.99). It was a hot day and this drink is a smoothie, so I went for it. The drink has strawberry puree at the bottom, then a layer of mochi and then topped with strawberry smoothie. The sugar level is fixed for this drink, so I found it too sweet, but it was still good. Now the mochi is not like pieces of chewy mochi, like the toppings at frozen yogurt places, it's a sticky, gooey liquid (yeah, it sounds gross, and I'm sure many people find it gross, so caveat emptor, lol, but I like it). However, it wasn't as thick as at Tiger Sugar, so I didn't like the mochi at OneZo as much, but I still enjoyed my drink. On my second visit I got a large Strawberry Tea ($5.99) with OneZo Tapioca ($1). OneZo Tapioca is a mix of crystal, mango and purple tapioca. Very colourful! I was a bit disappointed that the sweetness was also fixed for this drink at 25% as I would have preferred no sugar, but it was still ok and not excessively sweet, though sweeter than my preference. The tapioca were soft and chewy, although admittedly, all 3 flavours kind of tasted the same to me in the drink, haha. They have an app you can download to collect points for freebies. Service was very courteous and helpful. The store is in the same strip mall as Baklawa King, Daal Roti, KFC, Top Trimmers Hair Studio, DN Nails & Spa and W Flowers. Lots of free parking. I got the cactus tapioca which was pretty unique. We also got the strawberry mochi milk tea. This one was interesting since the mochi was like a melted marshmallow consistency. The service was great and I appreciated that the lady didn't hesitate to give me a cup of hot water for my baby's formula when I asked for one. Their menu seems to have plenty of options to choose from, ranging from milk teas to fruity ones as well as different toppings (jelly, pearls, noodles).
