The turkey sandwich waffle was so delicious! The waffle is light yet crispy and its texture was great. The sandwich was tasteful and the turkey was fresh. I would order it again in a heart beat! The macha latte was also good. This is a great little place. I'm sad to see it go due to rent space issues. Service and wait time was efficient and fast despite the line up.

Croffles in Hintonburg!! Now I can get croffles (croissant-waffle hybrid) closer to home. Whoot whoot! Sharpfle Waffle is a Korean Croffle Cafe. They just opened in December 2021. They are co-located with a Sutton Realty office (lucky realtors, lol) and in the same strip as Nu Grocery and Terra20. I got a Yuzu Glazed croffle ($5.20) to go. It was nicely packaged in a cardboard box and was cut in half, and garnished with peeled grapefruit slices. The glaze was sweet and citrusy with some thinly sliced candied fruit, possibly yuzu or maybe oranges, and shaved citrus peel. The croffle was photogenic and also delicious. It was a bit chewy and soft though due to the glaze and the trip home. I bet if you eat it right away it would have been crispier on the outside. I am so loving that all these food trends have finally come to Ottawa. I would love it if they also sold bingsoo and mochi, lol. Service was courteous and efficient. I will be back to try their fig and pistachio croffle, which is baked into the batter instead of a plain batter with toppings. I also hope they introduce more savoury croffles. Street parking only.

A great addition to the neighborhood that brings the Korean craze of croffles to Ottawa. They have a cozy and clean space, a small but creative food menu with lots of tea options, and friendly service. We came on a weekend morning and got the cinnamon sugar, lotus cream and figstachio croffles. They were all very fresh, aromatic, and well balanced in flavours. The lotus cream wasn't too heavy, cinnamon sugar one is a classic and had a bit of cinnamon cream on the side, and the figstachio was a unique one - almost like a twice baked almond croissant but with pistachios and dried figs.

Cute little spot in ottawa that makes fantastic croissant waffles. Flavours are very innovative with very nice staff. Definitely will come back for brunch.

Loovee. I was sad when they got shut down before I had the chance to try them but was super excited when they re-opened. It's such a cute little brunch spot. Like a cute coffee shop but on steroids ( in the good way). It's classy and esthetically please to look at when you're sitting and enjoying your food. We got the egg salad, the avocado & turkey sandwich and the strawberry shortcake to share. And wow! The pickled shallots and arugula added the perfect amount of freshness to the egg salad. The avocado & turkey had the perfect mouthfeel and a classic flavor combo and the whipped cream on the strawberry shortcake wasn't too sweet ( in the Asian culture, this is one of the highest compliment for a dessert. The matcha latte and cappuccino were gorgeous and delicious. We finished every bite and every drop. Staff were friendly and efficient. Very helpful.

Checked this cute little spot today, they share the space with a realtor office which I accidentally went in instead! It's a small spot that can fit up to 8-10 ppl. I got a latte which was nice and smooth. They only have 2 savoury options, one of which has ham. So I asked for it without ham, and the gentleman was courteous to substitute with Turkey although it's not on the menu. It was crispy flavourful and good. The lotus cream is delicious but very sweet I coupes barley finish one half. Service was extra nice and kind.. it's a cute spot worth a try if you are in the area!

Caramel iced coffee and butterfly iced tea

I went to Sharpfle waffle with my friend yesterday before a shopping trip. I got the lotus waffle and caramel iced coffee. She got the strawberry waffle and butterfly iced tea. She said her waffle was rich and creamy, and said 10/10. My waffle was delicious and the salted caramel perfectly balanced out the sweet of the cream. My coffee was a little sweet for my liking but not overly sweet. The line was very long but once we ordered, we got our food fairly quickly. Overall would recommend.

Nana Egg Bubbles - Inside the red bean bubble waffle.

Nana Egg Bubbles

(1 review)

Nana Egg Bubbles is located inside the Green Fresh Supermarket. They are one of the few places in…read moreOttawa that sells bubble waffles. For Ottawa I will give it 4 stars, but in Toronto (my hometown) it would be 3 stars, since it's smaller than bubble waffles in Toronto and it's more cake-like than fluffy waffle-like. I got 4 bubble waffles to share with my parents: 2 sweet and 2 savoury. I got the original batter for all 4 ($4.99 each) but they also have chocolate or matcha batter ($5.49). I got taro filling for one (additional $1), red bean filling for one (additional $1), seaweed and pork floss for one (additional $1.50) and for the last one I got ham and cheese (additional $1.50 for the ham and another additional $1.50 for the cheese). If you buy 2 or more, you get a 10% discount, which I did. My receipt said Oreo instead of Red Bean, but they are the same price, so no big deal, and I received red bean like I ordered. The waffle itself, like I mentioned earlier was more cakey and less waffle-y, lol. Also not all bubbles had fillings. The taro one was most generous with the fillings. And I did not feel like an extra $3 was worth it for the ham and cheese as there was very little filling. There was also very little filling for the seaweed and pork floss one. The waffles are made to order, so they are fresh and hot when you get them. Staff were friendly. It's kind of slim pickings for bubble waffles in Ottawa, and this place has free parking, so it satisfies my bubble waffle cravings and it's convenient. So I am rating accordingly ;)

Cacao 70 - The sheen! It's a banana slice.

I look back at the next several stops that I made after shopping at Crocs and having consumed a…read morebunch of carbs at a wonton and noodle eatery. It looks like I went on an eating spree! I originally wanted a drink. I was in front of Cacao 70. I had never been to any of its franchises in my life. It was time to check this one out. This dessert place is next to a plant store. Deadly for someone who loves plants and chocolate. I was immediately greeted by a young man. He said to sit anywhere that I'd like. I chose a table with four chairs. My bag with my new pair of Crocs occupied one of them with my purse. I sat down and got menus from the man. There were a couple of men, it looked like a dad-son duo, sitting by the window. They ordered a bit ahead of me and pretty much wolfed down everything. I asked for water. I got cold water in a glass carafe, along with a glass. This water alone hit the spot. I ordered an iced mocha from the menu first. It's a mom-son duo running the show. They speak Cantonese. I overheard their conversation attempting to secure a used stove over the phone. What caught my attention on the menu was doing a fondue for one. Although I wasn't dying to eat anything, dessert time with fruit seemed perfect. I chose dark chocolate as my classic chocolate fondue. The dunkable items that accompanied the fondue consisted of chocolate brownie bites, classic waffle bites, and fruit (bananas, strawberries, and pineapple). The iced mocha was awesome. I heard it being blended in the kitchen before it came to me. It was cold, and had the best balance of coffee and chocolate flavours. It does have dairy in it. I thoroughly enjoyed having a fondue hour on a Thursday afternoon. The fruit was fresh and the perfect size to dunk into the dark chocolate. The sheen on the dark chocolate was impressive. This place does chocolate fondue superbly. There is something zen about dunking fruit and other goodies into dark chocolate with a fondue fork and indulging in each coated morsel. The dark chocolate was perfect. It wasn't bitter. It wasn't sugary. It was exactly how I like dark chocolate, but in fondue form. The chocolate brownie bites made you feel like this fondue experience was fancy. Chocolate on chocolate on chocolate. The bites had a crispy exterior that held the softer interior together as you dunked it into the fondue. So good! The waffle bites were equally as cool. It was like having chocolate waffles, but better and without any maple syrup or whipped cream. I paid at the counter with a credit card. It also allowed me to tip. I let the man know that everything was delicious, which he appreciated. This place didn't have air conditioning, but cool air did circulate well. There was a fly around, which was the only annoying part of the experience. I used the washroom before I left. It was a single stall that was clean. It's to the left of the counter when you walk up to it. I loved being here. I really should visit Cacao 70 more often. I'm so glad that my first experience at one was in Ottawa. (314)
