L:R hojicha latte, cinnamon and sugar croffle, latte
    Iris C.

Went to the original location within a neighborhood. Cute location but limited seating. We got the cinnamon and sugar croffle. It was buttery and tasty. I will go back and try their other options (savoury, or caramel black sesame). The hojicha latte is nice. I would get it again.

This shop specializes in croissant waffles (croffles). From speaking with the owner, I learned that this is their dream to open up their own café. I noticed a lot of intention and thought went behind each menu item. This shop will definitely be my go-to whenever I'm in Ottawa. Food: Their menu is comprised of savoury and sweet croffles. The flavours are the most unique and creative I have personally encountered for both categories offered at a café. Below is what I have tried so far: Charred corn and cheese: I can't resist corn so this was the first croffle I had tried. It satisfied the corn craving for sure and you can't go wrong with this combo! Had a hint of smokiness from the char on the torched corn. Creamy sesame: Sweet but not too sweet. I really enjoyed this one, there are notes of nutty-ness, there are sprinkles of black and white sesame on top. The whipped cream on top I think is infused with white sesame. Cacio e Pepe (melted cheese and black pepper): I see why this is a favourite! I would definitely order this again. The pecorino romano has a saltiness to it and the right amount of black pepper infused oil/sauce gives a pepper kick (not too overpowering), both ingredients balances out. The croffle here is such a great vessel for the ingredients normally found in the named pasta dish. Service/atmosphere: All the staff here are friendly and give great customer service. The interior and decor is calming to look at. It is a small café with a good amount of indoor seating mainly for 2 people, two of the tables can be combined to make room for 4 people to sit together. During warmer weather, there is patio seating.

Croffles in Hintonburg!! Now I can get croffles (croissant-waffle hybrid) closer to home. Whoot whoot! Sharpfle Waffle is a Korean Croffle Cafe. They just opened in December 2021. They are co-located with a Sutton Realty office (lucky realtors, lol) and in the same strip as Nu Grocery and Terra20. I got a Yuzu Glazed croffle ($5.20) to go. It was nicely packaged in a cardboard box and was cut in half, and garnished with peeled grapefruit slices. The glaze was sweet and citrusy with some thinly sliced candied fruit, possibly yuzu or maybe oranges, and shaved citrus peel. The croffle was photogenic and also delicious. It was a bit chewy and soft though due to the glaze and the trip home. I bet if you eat it right away it would have been crispier on the outside. I am so loving that all these food trends have finally come to Ottawa. I would love it if they also sold bingsoo and mochi, lol. Service was courteous and efficient. I will be back to try their fig and pistachio croffle, which is baked into the batter instead of a plain batter with toppings. I also hope they introduce more savoury croffles. Street parking only.

The turkey sandwich waffle was so delicious! The waffle is light yet crispy and its texture was great. The sandwich was tasteful and the turkey was fresh. I would order it again in a heart beat! The macha latte was also good. This is a great little place. I'm sad to see it go due to rent space issues. Service and wait time was efficient and fast despite the line up.

A great addition to the neighborhood that brings the Korean craze of croffles to Ottawa. They have a cozy and clean space, a small but creative food menu with lots of tea options, and friendly service. We came on a weekend morning and got the cinnamon sugar, lotus cream and figstachio croffles. They were all very fresh, aromatic, and well balanced in flavours. The lotus cream wasn't too heavy, cinnamon sugar one is a classic and had a bit of cinnamon cream on the side, and the figstachio was a unique one - almost like a twice baked almond croissant but with pistachios and dried figs.

Cute little spot in ottawa that makes fantastic croissant waffles. Flavours are very innovative with very nice staff. Definitely will come back for brunch.

Checked this cute little spot today, they share the space with a realtor office which I accidentally went in instead! It's a small spot that can fit up to 8-10 ppl. I got a latte which was nice and smooth. They only have 2 savoury options, one of which has ham. So I asked for it without ham, and the gentleman was courteous to substitute with Turkey although it's not on the menu. It was crispy flavourful and good. The lotus cream is delicious but very sweet I coupes barley finish one half. Service was extra nice and kind.. it's a cute spot worth a try if you are in the area!

I went to Sharpfle waffle with my friend yesterday before a shopping trip. I got the lotus waffle and caramel iced coffee. She got the strawberry waffle and butterfly iced tea. She said her waffle was rich and creamy, and said 10/10. My waffle was delicious and the salted caramel perfectly balanced out the sweet of the cream. My coffee was a little sweet for my liking but not overly sweet. The line was very long but once we ordered, we got our food fairly quickly. Overall would recommend.

The barista knows their stuff - latte art, perfect espresso, and enough charm to make you smile before your first sip.

Ended up getting the pistachio and Dubai chocolate croissant. As for the drinks, we got the matcha and the Hojicha with espresso shots. They serve coffee from Hatch (which is probably one of my favourite back in Toronto). Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the croissants fresh but they were still tasted buttery and flakey. The flavour and sweetness was the right amount (perfect for my Asian tastebuds). The drinks were also really good! It was pretty busy inside but there's plenty of seating (might not be great if you want to chill and study but great for hanging out with friends). Service was good, staff is friendly and our order was made fairly quickly. I would come back and try other things on their menu if I'm ever around the area.

Plus, their croissants are big in size and are great for sharing. Their place is beautifully decorated with lots of seating. The workers were kind and friendly. We ordered the Croissant au Pistachio Rose and the Dubai Chocolate Croissant. Both had the perfect amount of flakiness and softness. The Dubai Chocolate was decadent while the Pistachio Rose was nutty with a delicate taste of floral.

I was in the mood for a Sfogliatella (lobster tail pastry), so my husband and I went to Little Italy to get one. Pasticceria Gelateria Italiana has been around since 1979, but I had never been there before. They had a large selection of desserts and gelato. We took our pastry to-go, but they have some seating both indoors and on their raised front patio and street-level side patio. The Sfogliatella was $7.49 which is the most I've ever paid for this pastry. Fortunately, it was delicious. Very crispy and flakey on the outside and softer on the inside with a generous amount of cream. I prefer the ricotta cheese filling slightly more, but I like the cream filling too. It was light and airy and not too sweet. Service was efficient and pleasant. The shop has a one way flow, you enter one door and you follow the arrows and exit a different door. The area to wait for service is narrow, so this process prevents congestion and crowding. I like it. Great for the occasional treat, but a bit too spendy for me. (77)
