Beautiful store, one of a kind timepieces, and a lot of unique art that represents important historical eras. My favorites were the marble clocks and their matching sets. It was epic to witness. I've only ever seen items like this at the Getty. This is definitely a place you have to check out and plan to purchase from. I believe the pricing is fair because these are antiques that are made from scratch-- I mean everything is hand crafted. When you see something this nice, you would never want anyone to have a duplicate of it. It's so classy and the staff were incredibly kind. I believe this place is family-run, and it shows in how thoughtfully it's maintained. It felt inclusive and welcoming. Appointments are highly recommended, and this is not a space for children. I noticed they allow calm, well-behaved pets on leash or harness for private parties, which I appreciated. I first visited at 7 AM when they were closed just to admire the exterior, then came back around 12:30 PM to take it all in with better light. I fell in love with so many pieces and will absolutely be back once I have a home closer up north. This store is timeless beauty preserved and presented at its finest. read more

We stumbled in here after exploring parts of Solvang. This place is owned by the sweetest couple. They were so nice and helpful when we were looking around. They had a lovely selection of jewelry and other antiques. The prices were not too bad. There was a lovely music box and the owner noticed us looking at it and she went ahead offered to crank it for us. I came to this place over two years ago. This is a very cool and unique store. With plenty of antiques to choose from. It's like stepping into a time machine and going back into the past. The grandfather clocks and other antiques were very cool to see. The artistry and craftsmanship done to these pieces are amazing. The staff were very friendly and funny. Surprisingly huge store that extends back into the block where it features a gallery area. We really enjoyed the quality of the antiques, and in particular the paintings and prints. The hand blown art glass in the back gallery area was stunning and affordably priced. We stumbled upon this antique store by accident. Walking around Solvang, my companion and I decided to check the placed out. Actually my companion did, I didn't want to be looking at old stuff. -___- Anyway, I'm glad I went in! From the outside, this store seems like a tiny place, but once you're inside it goes on for ages. There's three levels to this store and each level was super cool. There is tons of high value antique items here. It's almost like a history museum / store. Forget the history museum and check out the Antique Center. While I was in there, I saw very expensive antiques for sale. They have many grandfather clocks from all kinds of time periods.. 1800s, 1900s, all time periods! There was old jukeboxes, cabinets, mirrors, everything. I even spotted a grandfather clock for $250,000 plus. While I held it in my hands, I exclaimed, "I'm holding the cost of a condo in my hands" These guys are moving now to a smaller store but check out Solvang Antique Center if you're there. The reason why they're moving is because the owners of the building told them they were going to cut the store in half! Because of that, they decided to just move to a better location... smaller but newer. They already take care of all the upkeep of the store they might as well. Don't worry they'll still have all their stuff... the store has two warehouses to keep antiques in. read more

*Beware Customers* Solvang Antiques sells counterfeit/fake items I walked into their store and selected 2 beautiful watches that I wanted to purchase. One was a vintage Breitling Chronograph pictured above. They were selling this as an all original authentic Breitling watch. I was excited to make the purchase but wanted some second opinions so I took the details of the worker there and asked for pictures via email. Fortunately, I was able to get in touch with a vintage Breitling expert that very weekend who told me that the watch was a fake/counterfeit and I should report the business immediately. Needless to say this saved me thousands of dollars. I contacted the employees immediately and knowing that I had proof from an expert they had to acknowledge that the watch was a fake . Their justification for the incident was that the watch was acquired a few years ago and they thought it was authentic at the time. Well, with that line of reasoning everything in their store has about a 50-50 chance of being authentic. I believe they expect their customers to do heavy due diligence with a domain expert before purchasing any of their items. So if you are a customer at the store make sure to do so if you don't want to get scammed out of your money. P.S: For the second watch that I liked. On closer examination I found out that the chrono functions weren't working. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a fake too. read more

Went to both the old location and the new store at 1693 Copenhagen Dr, during a recent visit. Love the selection and the knowledgeable staff. Feels like a museum, where you can buy anything you love. Furniture, paintings, jewelry and select collectables. The variety and quality of the items are second to none. This being antiques, the price tag is for the serious collectors. The old location on 486 First Street have some good deals to make it worthwhile. The new store is priced like a museum, where it's look and don't touch! read more

If you have a love of antiques, especially clocks, old telephones, fountain pens, and antiques in general (including estate jewelry) this is the place to visit. Yes, some of the pieces are very prices. There are one-of-a-kind (and restored) Grandfather Clocks, and other items. The staff (I have to particularly recommend Michael) is knowledgeable and generally know the back-story of an antique they are selling. this is quite possibly the finest antique store i have ever visited. it is majestic in its collection of beautifully grand clocks, furniture, pianos, phonographs and collectible items from the late 1800's and late 1900's. it is a virtual time capsule. the only problem with stepping into a store like this is that since everything is high quality and very well preserved, which of course, it is a huge plus for an antique store, the price tags for everything, and i mean, everything in the store can run from 1,000 to a quarter of a million, easily and as you step into the store and realize the sort of items they have it is understandable why that is that case. i recommend stepping into the store even if you don't have the disposable income. you can spend an hour easy ruminating throughout the store and wondering the history of many of the items on display. it is a very fascinating store with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. read more

Wowsers! I am sometimes bored with antique shops... but I left this one with a big smile on my face and talking about it all the way back to Santa Barbara! The staff was very friendly and personable even though we definitely couldn't afford anything there! Such beautiful pieces though, clocks, furniture, jewelry.... the woman on the staff (should have gotten her name) even played one of the old music boxes for us she called our "modern CD"... WOW that was the most magical sound I have heard in my entire life. I'm 29 and own an ipod but I would trade it in to get one of these in my house... it was sooooo awesome and I thought that was very sweet of the staff to crank one of the "cd's" on to play for us... Yes, This store is amazing in the sense of the contents of the store. However the staff was not welcoming. We had a lady follow us around the store, but never even offered us help. It was so uncomfortable. We left without buying anything and with that kind of service, I would not give them one cent. Over all Solvang is a place i would visit again just not this store. read more

This is such a magnificent and luxurious antique store. I felt as though I was in a museum. Some of the items in this store I have never seen! I thought the music boxes were extraordinary and I especially loved the Thomas Edison Phonograph. So cool!! I think everything is merchandised with such care and there is not a drop of dust in this store, it is immaculate. The pieces can range from hundreds of years old to recently in our century and everything is in pristine condition. My boyfriend is currently purchasing our engagement ring there and it is gorgeous! My favorite place to visit and the only store that is truly a must visit is Solvang Antiques! It is a feast for the eyes (and sometimes the wallet, but so worth it!).
