This is a great, albeit expensive, place to get some imported Danish products you won't find elsewhere. Just know that this place is often very full of inventory and crowds so it can get tough to walk around & shop. It won't be a casual shopping experience. Especially on weekends and summers. I came here mainly because I heard it was a great place to get old Lego minifigure bags. However, I was not expecting some of the older ones to go for up to $30 a bag! That's highway robbery. You can find opened ones online for a fraction of that price and when you do that, there's no need to guess if you are getting the one you want (or be surprised at all by what you're paying for). If you're looking for bags to keep sealed, this is a great option for you, but for someone like me who was just looking to get one or two to complete a series, this just wasn't priced right enough for me to pull the trigger. I did, however, purchase a single mini figure that's exclusive to a Danish store chain. Was it overpriced? Yeah. But not too high that I didn't feel like treating myself. Staff is very friendly and I saw them happily helping customers all throughout the shop. Customer service is great here. So rest assured if you have questions about inventory or if you want to try on something, there will be someone here to help you out quickly. read more

Such a cute big and nice store with the interesting selection of goodies. Price wise is little bit high so the value that you pay is for the uniqueness of the items/ products. The service was bad this time! They were two sales associates that they were chatting together very loud and they didnt bother themselves to acknowledge us or even offer help! They had limited collection of pandoras if you are collectors it will be fun trip here! They had also Viking museum outside which we didnt go but they are growing. Last time here they had great service and i remember i ended up to buy many stuffs but this time the experience was totally different! The store itself is 5/5. There is street parking outside and if its not busy then probably you'll able to find one! read more

I've tried to like this store over the years but it's really just not for me. It's pretty expensive and the items here don't rotate often enough. It's wild that I can come back years later and there are still so many of the same items in the store. I've always been curious how this store stays in business because I never see anyone buying anything. When I walk into other stores there is always plenty of hustle and bustle near the register. Maybe their online presence is large and that's where they do most of their business? I was impressed by their inventory online. Still not for me but at least they keep up with their e-commerce. I do feel bad though because the staff in the store have always been very nice to me. They greet you, ask if you have any questions, and seem helpful. So definitely my mid review and ranking doesn't reflect the staff or the friendliness of them, it's just not a store that I ever find anything and it's just really pricey in my opinion for what it is. Given that downtown Solvang is more of a tourist area it's surprisingly the high prices and that they try to sell thousands of dollars worth of jewelry here when most people walking in and out are just looking for little travel pieces. They stay in business somehow so good for them. read more

My friend and I were visiting Solvang on a lovely Summer day. We had an extremely awful and insulting experience here in the Copenhagen house, maybe even racist. We bought tickets to the viking exhibit. There are two portions of this exhibit. (Mostly all replicas of originals). Anyway, we finished the first part and then we have to walk through the jewellery store part to the second part inside the store. My friend scanned a QR code at the billing counter on the left of the exhibit. The extremely rude woman here yelled "What are you doing ?!! " at my friend. And said she thinks my friend was paying a bill that was pending at the counter. Now, tell me - WHY ON EARTH WOULD WE PAY FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S ORDERS? Would she have been so condescending to someone who was not a person of color ? We found this behavior extremely racist. And hated our experience at The Copenhagen House in Solvang. read more

This is a cute shop. Part jewelry store, part museum, part toy store, part home goods store. I loved to see the old artifacts and shop around. I loved the candle holders and the items made out of amber. I ended up getting an amber tree for my mother and had it shipped to her. It wasn't cheap but it was unique and she loves amber. The other side of the store has mire housewares and toys. That was fun to go through as well. read more

What a great shop. They have so many wonderful things for everyone. Our favorite are the Maileg dolls. Our daughter found them to be fascinating and fell in love with the mice so every time we go we let her pick out a few items and mice and little bunnies to grow her dollhouse and collection. They also have a wonderful museum inside which is a delight. We get to teach our child and reward her in the end . This is a great shop and we never tire of going in and purchasing different u pique items for our home and shoes and we can't wait to go back again soon. This is a must go inside and see for yourself place and highly recommend read more

Located along one of the main parts of the town. Lovely little store with various selection of products. Our favourite was the Lego minifigures. They have a wide choice of old retired series's. Didn't pick up the truly old series of figures due to price but they are there if you have see pockets. Friendly and fast service, despite the busy store. Would recommend if you are in the area, don't forget to check out the amber museum tucked in the back of the store. Pretty interesting exhibit. read more

This business goes above and beyond for their customers. Eddie, Nikole, Annie, and Elsa-Marie provide amazing services and really want you to be completely happy with your purchase. We stopped into The Copenhagen House while window shopping in Solvang. This shop reminds me a bit of IKEA with regards to the Danish merchandise that is available for sale. Everything from toys to kitchenware and jewelry. Don't miss the beautiful amber collection that is located to the far right of the store. The entrance looks like the entrance to a bank vault. There are beautiful amber jewelry pieces available for sale as well. Make it a point to stop and in and enjoy the beautiful Danish items that you are unlikely to find anywhere else. Enjoy your visit! read more

Absolutely love this store. A must stop for me when in Solvang. I always get something cute or useful from here. They have a great selection of amber jewelry which I absolutely love and appreciate. Also Pandora and many more brands of jewelry. Section of unique toys, LEGO's and stuffed animals. I also enjoy buying gadgets from the home section since I love to cook and entertain. They carry Danish designs. I recently bought a peeler and a cheese grinder. Very happy with both. Love using them. Don't forget to check them out on your next trip to Solvang. read more

Mostly a shop full of swedish goods. In the very back there's a "museum", which is really a small hallway with large (but impressive) Norse statue. The Copenhagen house also houses an amber museum in the back, which is really one room (the former bank vault). Unfortunately when we visited the amber room was closed. There was a small room full of legos, which was cool, but also the size of a closet. Anyways, worth a quick visit if you're strolling around Solvang. It's cool how this store transformed into this multi-purpose space. However, just know both museums are more like single room exhibits. read more

Is it a store? a museum? a museum in a store? I'm not really sure of what to make of this store. It sells a little bit of everything... they offered jewelry, watches, shoes (Danish clogs), home goods, toys, souvenirs, etc. I guess what threw me off were the names above: MODA, Bering, Pandora, House of Amber, and Dark Blond Cosmetics... now are these designer brands or separate stores within the same building? I am not familiar with these names, maybe because they are way out of my price range. LoL! On top of the confusion there are two museums inside this same building -- Museum of Danish America and Solvang Amber Museum. Are they separate entities that just houses itself inside the Copenhagen House? I browsed through the items they offered. I was fixated on the Danish clogs. There was a huge red shoe on display. It's actually what attracted me to take a look inside the store. The sales ladies were friendly and helpful even though eventually I didn't purchase anything. I probably couldn't afford anything in this store but my mom walked out with a few souvenirs she bought. I spent some time inside the Solvang Amber Museum which was inside the House of Amber. The museum was tiny and from what I understood the original museum, located in Copenhagen, is one of the most recognized national geological amber museums in the world. Well, this is a sample of that original Amber museum. The museum explains a fascinating history of amber. The museum, albeit small, exhibits an impressive collection of entombed insects from prehistoric times. Inside hung a movie poster of Jurassic Park The Lost World... "something has survived". Interesting. Four stars because of the museum. I didn't make it to see the other one, Museum of Danish America. Review #1003 read more

We walked in here with our two daughters because I promised to buy them a toy each. Upon touching the display doll house, a rude, blonde lady told me that my children weren't allowed to touch the toys. She must not have children to understand that children need to explore their options before choosing. We have NEVER been told that by any store in AMERICA. Their customer service was horrible. I was in disbelief so we left and decided not to buy their ikea toys. We scooted to Toyland where my kids were able to touch the toys and bought the ones they wanted. read more

It's surprising but there is a LEGO room here full of merchandise in the back room and a free small museum too! In the front, it looks like a fancy jewelry store but there's a lot more to it. Don't be shy to go inside and explore a bit. I think if the workers didn't look so intimidating, more people would enter. read more

I went into this store today looking for jewelry and Elsa started helping me and she was THE best woman ever. Super friendly and nice told me about every option available, cheap and more expensive. A very modern take to Danish design in art and jewelry coupled with other well known and uniquely stylish labels, come together like a shoppable museum or gallery. This is a great store to stop and check out. It has a little bit of everything for everybody. We are major watch freaks and they have some very cool watches. If I had known their watches existed I would definitely own several of them. They are very reasonably priced, and have several different, but expensive looking watches. We ended up purchasing one of their Bering watches and are not disappointed. Great, knowledgeable friendly staff also. read more

We made a brief stop here. Some very interesting things for sale, all Danish, from toys to expensive jewelry to home décor. There is also a small museum/display of Danish/Viking history. Seriously good find on one of my Solvang strolls. I was walking through Copenhagen road. There are statues outside of the Solvang founders and then also a huge wooden carving inside.Inside features jewelry stores and household items. I was momentarily distracted and tempted by the springheads but made my way to the small exhibit of the Danish history. There was a brief history of Danish royalty, the Vikings, and debunking the myth that they wore horns on their helmets. There was a featured sword. Fun fact: the Danish kingdom is one of the oldest! read more

I thought my husband and I were alone in this issue. Today we went and before we even walked in an older heavy set blonde woman started a leaf blower right in our path of the door. I even made eye contact with her before we walked in. Didn't even say sorry as we were trying to go in. I've been to other pandora stores and have never been so disrespected. I was happy to go in but after that I walked around said everything was too plain and we walked out. Very disappointed in this store and the utter disrespect we were shown. I hope it wasn't because of race and was just her being grumpy because it was a Saturday morning. read more

What a unique and well curated place to shop! It highlights the finer things the Danes have contributed to design. Am loving my unique amber ring and was eyeing a watch from Bering for the hubby. Seriously- can't stop thinking about it. Lots of price points, so there is something for everyone, great place to pick up something that celebrates modern Danish design without traveling across the globe...and it's so refreshing to have an alternative to clogs and windmills when you visit Solvang. Looking forward to our next visit, and so worth the venture in to find unique gifts for loved ones! read more

Definitely a tourist trap with questionable pricing tactics. Price was higher when scanned at register. Assistant manger said the price is whatever it scans for not what it is advertised at. Cashier said it happens all the time and said she wished that she could make it right, but the manager won't let her. Fortunately, we found the same Bering items on Amazon, and much cheaper. read more

This is a cute little shop that has a little bit of different things. What drew me in was the pandora shop as I love their charms and was looking for a particular one. I was very disappointed with the customer service from the blonde older lady. I walked in and wasn't greeted at all. I went straight to look at charms and the lady simply glanced at me and didn't ask if I needed help even tho there wasn't anyone else needing help. After a couple minutes a lady walked in and she very well was greeted nicely and asked if she was lookin for anything in particular. I had to get the older ladies attention and asked if she could show me something from the case. She walked over making an angry face as if I had bothered her. I was there to buy something why was she angry?! I asked if those were all the charms she had and she showed me more but let them go hard on top of the case and said that's all I have. Dang lady throw them at me why don't you! I was not happy and won't be going back again! I'll be purchasing my charms elsewhere! It almost seemed I wasn't treated as nice as other people walking in because of my race or maybe because of how I was dressed?! I thought I looked nice haha very cute store but rude employee. read more

My wife is from Denmark and we love Danish designed products. The Copenhagen House carries many of our favorite Danish products like Holmegaard glassworks, Stelton, Georg Jensen, etc. We do wish they would consider carrying Royal Copenhagen products as well. This last weekend on a trip to Copenhagen House we purchased a dozen beautiful Holmegaard wine glasses. They like most Holmegaard glass works are mouth blown and are very high quality. We have bought many products from this shop as it has now become our "go to" shop here in the states for our favorite Danish products. Their staff is very helpful, very knowledgeable and extremely professional. If you are in Solvang, you definitely should visit. If you cannot make it up there, visit their website. We have ordered from their site and have been completely satisfied. read more
