Georg Jensen Candle holder

This is a cute shop. Part jewelry store, part museum, part toy store, part home goods store. I loved to see the old artifacts and shop around. I loved the candle holders and the items made out of amber. I ended up getting an amber tree for my mother and had it shipped to her. It wasn't cheap but it was unique and she loves amber. The other side of the store has mire housewares and toys. That was fun to go through as well.

This business goes above and beyond for their customers. Eddie, Nikole, Annie, and Elsa-Marie provide amazing services and really want you to be completely happy with your purchase. After returning to their store multiple times to get the perfect sized ring, I am very happy to say we are thrilled with our gifts and will definitely recommend this business to others. Thank you so very much for your time and help!

We stopped into The Copenhagen House while window shopping in Solvang. This shop reminds me a bit of IKEA with regards to the Danish merchandise that is available for sale. Everything from toys to kitchenware and jewelry. Don't miss the beautiful amber collection that is located to the far right of the store. The entrance looks like the entrance to a bank vault. There are beautiful amber jewelry pieces available for sale as well. Make it a point to stop and in and enjoy the beautiful Danish items that you are unlikely to find anywhere else. Enjoy your visit!

Absolutely love this store. A must stop for me when in Solvang. I always get something cute or useful from here. They have a great selection of amber jewelry which I absolutely love and appreciate. Also Pandora and many more brands of jewelry. Section of unique toys, LEGO's and stuffed animals. I also enjoy buying gadgets from the home section since I love to cook and entertain. They carry Danish designs. I recently bought a peeler and a cheese grinder. Very happy with both. Love using them. Don't forget to check them out on your next trip to Solvang.

Mostly a shop full of swedish goods. In the very back there's a "museum", which is really a small hallway with large (but impressive) Norse statue. The Copenhagen house also houses an amber museum in the back, which is really one room (the former bank vault). Unfortunately when we visited the amber room was closed. There was a small room full of legos, which was cool, but also the size of a closet. Anyways, worth a quick visit if you're strolling around Solvang. It's cool how this store transformed into this multi-purpose space. However, just know both museums are more like single room exhibits.

Is it a store? a museum? a museum in a store? I'm not really sure of what to make of this store. It sells a little bit of everything... they offered jewelry, watches, shoes (Danish clogs), home goods, toys, souvenirs, etc. I guess what threw me off were the names above: MODA, Bering, Pandora, House of Amber, and Dark Blond Cosmetics... now are these designer brands or separate stores within the same building? I am not familiar with these names, maybe because they are way out of my price range. LoL! On top of the confusion there are two museums inside this same building -- Museum of Danish America and Solvang Amber Museum. Are they separate entities that just houses itself inside the Copenhagen House? I browsed through the items they offered. I was fixated on the Danish clogs. There was a huge red shoe on display. It's actually what attracted me to take a look inside the store. The sales ladies were friendly and helpful even though eventually I didn't purchase anything. I probably couldn't afford anything in this store but my mom walked out with a few souvenirs she bought. I spent some time inside the Solvang Amber Museum which was inside the House of Amber. The museum was tiny and from what I understood the original museum, located in Copenhagen, is one of the most recognized national geological amber museums in the world. Well, this is a sample of that original Amber museum. The museum explains a fascinating history of amber. The museum, albeit small, exhibits an impressive collection of entombed insects from prehistoric times. Inside hung a movie poster of Jurassic Park The Lost World... "something has survived". Interesting. Four stars because of the museum. I didn't make it to see the other one, Museum of Danish America. Review #1003

Something for everyone. We had fun wandering the aisle and my son LOVED the Lego area. There was a very broad variety of jewelry, gems, kitchen items and toys. A nicely displayed variety.

This place used to be the Rabobank. They have an Amber Museum inside where the vault used to be. They also sell a variety of interesting items such as jewelry, Legos, Amber, and Toys from Denmark. By the way, the Lego store inside is in a very small room in the back.

It's surprising but there is a LEGO room here full of merchandise in the back room and a free small museum too! In the front, it looks like a fancy jewelry store but there's a lot more to it. Don't be shy to go inside and explore a bit. I think if the workers didn't look so intimidating, more people would enter.

It beckoned me to enter with the promise of treasures beyond their doors. It is a beautifully organized and decorated store. Curated items were professionally displayed. There was a lady behind the counter but she avoided greeting me. I know this is a tourist town because the pricing was high. I do understand the mark up is needed to sustain the running of this business, etc. I will wait to return to Old Town Temecula where they sell the exact same items for much lower. This is one of the stores we stopped in during our wanderings. It's beautifully displayed, with many different feature areas. From unique kitchen gadgets and accessories, to home accents of many different types, there's much to see and consider here. Full retail is in effect, and some of the items seem very pricey, which is the reason for a one star reduction. Still, I found it very enjoyable to browse their selections, enjoying the stylish displays. I did find several items to take home, plus picked up a couple small gifts. I particularly love a silicone spatula I bought here, which has an ergonomic design that makes it comfortable to use. I don't know how they'll manage reopening / whether they offer buy online and pickup with minimal contact. I hope that they'll be able to survive the Coronavirus situation!

A Piece of the Past - Vintage Vanity

Vintage shopping is my weakness. I always ask my husband -- "Do I need more stuff?" And he always…read moresays -- "No, but let's look anyway." Lol. Happiness set in as soon as I walked through the door. Clean, organized, bright and more importantly -- no old, dirty smell! The first item that caught my eye was a handmade mug. It reminded me of when my grandson was learning the alphabet as he would excitedly shout "N is for Narwhal!" Needless to say, I couldn't put it back down. We browsed every corner and found so many lovely items, including a beautiful vintage vanity (on my wish list). Prices were surprisingly reasonable, which made it really difficult not to buy more. As we were ready to check out with my mug, the husband pointed out a tiny silver scoop in a locked case. He could tell on my face that I wanted to add it to my collection, so he called someone to open the case -- he's such an enabler. :) The staff are easy to find, incredibly friendly and helpful. Such a great place -- we'll be back!

While in Solvang, we found this really cool vintage thrift shop and walked around a bit. The inside had so many items to look at, but still felt very organized and didn't leave me feeling overwhelmed. They had everything - old records, comics, purses, fur coats, glassware -- even backstage passes from different concerts which I thought was pretty cool. I am always on the hunt for Uranium glass and A Piece of the Past had a few items. One being an ashtray and another being a set of glasses that I am still kicking myself for not just buying. Service was very friendly throughout the store and I also thought that most of the items were fairly priced - it didn't feel like they were trying to gouge anyone. Check them out!
