    History of cork opener

Amazing experience!!! It's a must that you come and visit . The history lesson and passion Carlos showed was very inspiring and intriguing and kind. Would honestly recommend it to any wine connoisseur who loves to collect openers.

I had the most enjoyable experience when I stepped into this little shop. Owners, Christine and Carlos are a beautiful couple, beaming with light and love. Christine created a couple of strands of pearls custom just for me. Her handsome husband, Carlos actually sang to me.. (such a talent). The pearls, like the owners shine with a special luster. I couldn't love them more. I will cherish my strands and every time I wear them, I will think of Pumacasu!! And Christine and Carlos.

Extremely nice and interesting antique wine tool and hand made jewerly shop located off the main street in Los Olivos. We really came across this shop by accident while walking to a wine tasting where the antique display immediately caught my attention. Upon entering the shop I was immediately greeted by Carlos, the owner of the shop, with a warm smile and handshake. Carlos is an expat Argentinian who is fluent in six languages and does translation work for the legal system. His side business is this antique wine tool shop which he clearly has a passion for and loves discussing the historical nature of the tools he has on display. During our time in this shop, Carlos gave us an in depth discussion on how and why the antique wine cork pullers and sommelier keys were developed in a mesmerizing story line fashion. If you are into wine like I am and an engineer to boot, it was absolutely fascinating to learn the details of these tools and how they evolved over time. The tools if you buy them will become the center piece of any discussion in your home when you serve your wine and seriously complement your wine collection/cellar. You would be taking your wine get togethers with family and friends to the next level by re-spinning Carlos historical story to them. The other facet of these antique wine tools, aside from the fun/pleasure they provide in owning them, is they are an investable asset as well that will increase in value over time and Carlos has the Christies catalogs to back this up. To sum this shop visit up, this is one shop you absolutely need to visit if you are in Los Olivos as it is absolutely the best attraction/shop in this town where you will not be disappointed. Highly highly recommend. Five stars.

A few of Christine's pieces. She can help you design your own masterpiece!

TRUE ARTISANS. MAVENS OF THEIR CRAFT: Carlos and Christine are the best! Christine is one of the premier jewelry makers in California, to be certain. Her gorgeous one-of-a-kind works are true statement pieces. Gorgeous beyond measure. She and her husband, Carlos, bring back unique stones and jewels from their journeys and Christine's brilliant mind goes to work unlocking the beauty within. Be aware that when you wear her pieces, you will get looks and lots of compliments. She is humble, so let me let you know that her fan following is huge. Try to be lucky enough to own one of her amazing pieces. You will feel blessed! Christine can help you to design your jewelry piece or offer suggestions. Her gems are unique and she will stamp small icons on the back of each piece to note "love" and other emotions. Her blacksmithing is top notch and truly adds elegance. Each piece just screams "high end." This is not your basic jewelry store. This is an experience !!! Carlos, Christine's husband and co-owner of Pumacasu is one of the most brilliant minds I know. He too is so humble, but he is an extremely well-versed historian. His ability to recite history, with especial forte' for wine history, is nothing short of doctorate collegiate-level. Be prepared to come and be awe-inspired as Carlos fills you with knowledge of the "chevaliers du tastevin" and many other tales. He has a master-level collection of rare and vintage corkscrews and other wine devices. Carlos is from Argentina and is such an amazing and vibrant personality! You will find Pumacasu open Friday-Sunday (and some special days). Oh, and I cannot forget about "Gatuchi", their blind and deaf cat. Christine and Carlos rescued this sweet little guy and they usually bring him on a little leash to the store. Gatuchi might actually be the one in charge. He's a huge personality!

True story....I followed a wolf into this shop. Yes, a wolf. For anyone who knows me this was probably one of the most amazing days of my life. I happened to be standing in the wine shop next door and saw this huge wolf walking by with another dog friend. I knew immediately that he was a wolf. I followed him into this cute little shop that I had somehow never been into despite all of our trips up to Los Olivos. The owner gave me a jerky treat and I got to shake hands with the wolf :) So awesome. Once the excitement wore off, we got a chance to look around and chat with the other owner about everything being sold here. They make their own jewelry and trinkets but I would say the highlight would be all of the antique bottle openers and wine accessories that are laid out on the tables. They had cool keys and corkscrews from the 1800's, all kinds of crazy collectible things. This is definitely a place to stop by and visit while in Los Olivos.

This place really is amazing. And that goes way beyond the incredible jewelry and antique wine items that they sell. The owners are the sweetest people I've met in a very long time. Don't be surprised if this place becomes a must stop after your first visit. And you may spend hours in there with no pressure to buy; but only to listen to history of wine, and ask questions on hundreds of stones you have never heard of. As for the shop, it is much more fun to create custom jewelry than to buy it at some department store. I had Pumacasu make earrings for a couple family members for christmas, and they were floored by the beauty and one-of-a-kind look of the gifts. Come in, spend some time, and create something beautiful. It will cost you a fraction of the cost of normal jewelry, and it will be custom made.

An amazing spot with amazing artist and so much love in this store! I had a custom made pendant that is now my favorite piece of jewelry. The owners are downright the nicest folks which just makes me love their jewelry even more. This is now my go to place for life!!

I had some jewelry I wanted to sell. Great service and fair price…read more Highly recommend!

Absolutely unacceptable experience at Fox Jewelry in Ventura…read more I came in with a buyer to not only sell my peice of jewelry, but also have the buyer resize the ring with the store. A staff member confidently told me (IN FRONT OF MY BUYER) that my IGI-certified 4CT lab-grown diamond was fake and "for sure Cubic Zirconia", even after I demonstrated the paperwork. After more staff members took a look, they come back to confirm it WAS actually a lab diamond (like I tried to explain!) That level of contradiction is beyond unprofessional and completely destroyed trust in the middle of a sale. On top of that, they tried to quote me around $3,000 to "rebuild" the ring because the band is thin, which felt wildly inflated. However, another person on the floor was much kinder and explained that this was due to the professional grade. Either way, she was much more informative than the other person that did not know the difference between a CZ and a diamond. This was embarrassing, frustrating, and handled terribly. I would not trust their judgment. Get a second opinion somewhere else.
