Because you invited further response, Ginger C, the bracelet was not a family heirloom. It was a gift from a friend and thus meaningful to me, but it didn't need a second safety clasp for $875! A similar bracelet's clasp was repaired last week for $185. Lesson learned. read more

Happened to walk by the store and noticed that they had an antique piece on display. Went in on a whim and within minutes, I was being assisted by the wonderful Blu. He was highly knowledgeable and able to explain the specifics in a way that was engaging and fun. Incredible service and a wonderful sense of humor. There was no pressure to make a purchase either. 10 out of 10 experience. My 5.5 year old son is fascinated with all things crystals and geodes and of course wanted to visit the jewelry store full of emeralds and rubies. Ginger immediately embraced his curiosity, and took the time to educate us on the different types of stones, where they came from, and why each one was a different color. She gave us a full tour of the shop - including the exclusive back room where some of the jewelry is made. Ginger also gave him a crystal to take home, which he was over-the-moon about. She made such an impression on him and really demonstrated how much she cares about her customers and educating the younger generation. They are OPEN, by appointment only right now. I called to make an appointment and they were flexible with my schedule. Went there to get new studs and backs for a pair of earrings and had a GREAT experience. The staff was super friendly. Everyone was wearing masks (because of COVID-19), and she made sure to wipe off the pen (before and after use) that I used to sign my name. The best jewelry store around! I found them before I was married, and would bring spoon rings and little ear rings to my wife(girlfriend at the time). I have had Jim make me a matching necklace to a pair of earrings using a pearl I harvested, and purchased the perfect ring for my proposal. Moving to Southern California, I have still counted on Ginger and Jim to help me with all things jewelry. They always have the best antiques and very fun items. Ginger helped me with another ring recently and I never even stepped foot in the store. It was unsurprisingly another perfect ring. My husband and I were visiting Solvang and walked past the store front of DIG where a gorgeous princess cut diamond in a halo setting caught our eye. Inside we inquired about the price and were assisted by Katie. Katie was so patient and helpful while we tried the ring on and asked questions. We never felt pressure or like we were being rushed or pushed into anything. I have a beautiful wedding ring already but my husband is far too generous and for our 10 year, he had wanted to replace my current setting and stone. I had looked at and tried a few other rings before, but nothing ever felt right or made me want to replace my current set. As soon as I put this ring on I fell in love and it just felt like a perfect ring for me. We hadn't been expecting to purchase a ring on our trip so we left to think about it. Katie never made the process feel "salesy" and gave us the space and time to make sure it was the right decision. We were back in 5 minutes! When they found out we were from out of town they told us they would quickly resize it for me so I could take it home THAT DAY! When we picked up the ring a few hours later Katie and Ginger were again so helpful and just nice people. This is an absolutely magnificent jewelry store. Ginger is one of my absolute favorite people to do business with, and after reading a previous review I was shocked. She can be a little blunt, but that's part of her charm, as it's that she doesn't sugar coat things. She'll tell you the truth and that's not for everyone. Some people think that treating someone with respect means treating them like an authority figure, and others think it means treating someone as a person. Quite often the first type means that if you don't treat them like and authority figure they won't treat you like a person. They should really learn the difference. read more

I was so excited to go into this store to check out all the gorgeous jewelry that I saw through the window, my boyfriend and I walked in and we were greeted by Ginger, the owner. She was very nice and helpful giving us information on the items we were pricing until she became condescending after I mentioned I was in the jewelry business as well. I was very interesting in contacting Ginger after leaving Solvang to negotiate a price on the items (which are way overpriced for the weight, clarity, settings) but as I was leaving she slammed the door in my face... This place is truly a gift to the city of Solvang. My husband and I have been working with this jeweler since June for our upcoming wedding. They took my engagement ring from 1930s, sized it, fixed the prongs, cleaned the stones, and rotated the diamonds to hide imperfections and brought this family heirloom back to life. Because of their kindness and quality of work, we decided to purchase my husbands band from them and they gave us such a fair price.
