PLEASE AVOID THIS SHOP I rarely leave Yelp reviews, but this was by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I brought in three watches for simple battery replacements, something that should be straightforward. When they returned the watches to me, two watch backs weren't properly sealed, and one watch had been visibly bent and damaged. When I pointed this out, the staff denied responsibility and insisted it was "just the opening," even though the damage was clear. After insisting that they had damaged my watch, they mentioned they would try to repair or replace it. Nearly four weeks later, when I followed up, they refused to provide any proof of repair from the manufacturer company they claimed to have contacted. Instead, the older man became aggressive, raised his voice, and told me I shouldn't expect much since I paid a low price for the battery change. To make matters worse, I witnessed them using kitchen knives instead of proper tools to open watch backs. He was very rude and disrespectful to the point where I felt unsafe in that environment. Now, the watch no longer fits me, and when I contacted the manufacturer, I was told it had actually been replaced, yet they lied about it. I still don't know what happened to my watch and that was what I was asking them to clarify but they were very offended by it. If you have VALUABLE or SENTIMENTAL jewelry, I strongly urge you to go elsewhere. This business showed zero professionalism, transparency, accountability, and respect. They damaged my property, lied about it, and treated me with hostility. Shops like this should not be trusted. read more

I cannot recommend Bertha's Jewelry enough! My boyfriend and I go here for all of our watch battery and repair needs. The staff are incredibly kind and always ensure a quick turnaround time! I went in on Christmas Eve desperate for a battery replacement in a watch I needed the next day, and not only were they open but they helped me out right away. The whole visit took less than 5 minutes and their pricing is incredibly fair, unlike other watch shops in town that wanted to charge way too much to replace a battery or have a link taken out. I went to Bertha's to reset the opal stone that had fallen out of my engagement ring. The ring is my fiance's mother's so it's not new. Opal's are notoriously delicate but they were able to reset the stone without any damage. They also cleaned the ring so it looks brand new! After cleaning it was noticed that the diamonds surrounding the ring were a little loose so they tightened those as well. This is obviously a very sentimental and important piece of jewelry to me , they treated it with care and had great communication. Not too mention the price was a fraction of what other jewelry repair shops charge. Will definitely be visiting here again if I need a repair or am looking to purchase jewelry. read more

The best jewelry shop I've ever been to. Honest work, amazing craftsmanship, and the best prices. If you need custom work or repairs, come to Bertha's. I brought in some custom stones for a bracelet to be made since the original artist used cheap elastic to hold them together. Within days I had a custom fit bracelet with strong cable holding it together, that and a replaced bit of turquoise for a money clip. Together the price was so fair I had him keep the $10 change as a sign or gratitude. The man is a master. Bertha's is FANTASTIC. Bringing in my Omega next to be cleaned. read more

I needed a watch battery in time for Christmas. Jewelry Mart was closed so I decided to try Bertha's. It seems the type of watch I had was an unusual solar battery. He said it would take 5 days to have it ready. He quoted me $60, whiched seemed high and it felt like he was pulling the number out of the air. At five days I started calling. For three days I called with no return call. I finally went there and caught him just as he was about to leave. It was $60, but only in cash. I went to Jewelry Mart and ask about the battery. They quoted me $25-30. In the future I will wait for Jewelry Mart to open and avoid Bertha's. When I google Bertha's it says it is permanently closed. Not sure what is going on. read more
