Enjoy my Thursday happy hour experience at Solun. The bartender was so pleasant and enjoyable. He acknowledged us the moment we walked in and made us feel welcomed. Had a seat at the bar and he gave a bit of time to look over the happy hour menu. And I decided on the French martini and short rib nachos which came out very quickly nice and hot. The French martini was made perfectly!!! The atmosphere was good music was lively and enjoyable. This was my first time in Solun and I will definitely be back. Our bartender was leaving for the evening and he even made sure he told us good evening snd have a good night when he left. Very nice establishment!

The inconsistency of quality is my biggest issue. It can be frustrating when you like the menu and have had really good experiences and then take friends there and it falls short.

Sunday Brunch was flavorful, mimosa was, well a mimosa . The server was kind enough to put an orange slice when requested. I have included a couple of photos, I find this helpful when searching for a place to dine. Shrimp and Corn Chowder was sweet from the grilled fresh corn, and tender shrimp. Herbs and peppered perfectly. No salt detected which was a pleasant surprise! Served with a slice of grilled sourdough topped this flavorful starter without question! Lobster Benedict was actually Devine! Eggs were perfectly poached, plump sweet lobster chunks, balanced perfectly with chewy toasted ciabatta. Potatoes were tasty, tender and seasoned with sofitas (?) so good. Tiny diced red onions, peppers and herbs scattered made the entire meal flavorful and fresh. Certainly enough space for a crowd, and an equal amount of two seat tables snuggled in corners for a quiet meal for one. Thank you!

We have been wanting to go here but have not had a chance. We were able to stop by for a quick lunch just to check it out. The dining area looked nice and as we got there when it opens we decided to sit at the bar. Server was great and service was fast . The menu for small plates looked great but as we were in a hurry we both just ordered quesadillas and a drink. I only have 4 stars as it was just a quick bite. We will be back to try it for dinner and I will update my rating.

Always quality friendly service. Great menu options and the best Spanish risotto around! Ower Carlos, Chef Carlos, Edwin and Lori are wonderful and always accommodating.

They have happy hour on Sundays!!! Came in with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. Only had drinks, margaritas were made perfectly and the bartender was nice and attentive. I've had the food in the past and it's always good. Highly recommend.

I stopped in for drinks after having dinner elsewhere. It's a nice set up with ambience. We happened to come in during happy hour so there were a lot of specials going on. Nice music played at a reasonable volume, which allows you to interact with your company. I had a couple of martinis. Both very tasty. I definitely want to come back for the dining experience.

Does not look like much when you walk in but let me tell you this food was delicious! Went here on a Wednesday and happy hour prices were incredible! We had 6 apps and 6 drinks and our price was 65$! It was a perfect happy hour! The mojitos were to die for! The staff were very accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed! I highly recommend checking this place out for happy hour (especially on a Wednesday ) !

Had no idea what to expect from this place, we kind of just visited this establishment without looking at any reviews or anything. We visited the place on a Saturday afternoon, just a bit after lunch but surprisingly during happy hour on a Saturday. We were the only people there so we had the place to ourselves and the manager actually took care of us while there. She was so pleasant and helpful with the menu and all of the other specials they have. They had drink specials and tapas specials as well. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria which was half price and delicious. To start our meal we also ordered some Guacamole and chips, the guacamole was made fresh and it to was delicious. We next ordered our entree, I had the seafood pappardelle which was out of this world. The pasta was really good along with clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari. The flavors were ridiculously good. I truly enjoyed my meal. The best part was finishing it and using the rest of the bread to finish with the broth and juices which were left over. My girlfriend ordered the ceviche which was made to order. Most of the time the ceviche is pre-made and it usually contains shrimp which by the way my girlfriend is allergic to, so she can never order it. The manager es quicker to mention that everything is made to order and they could prepare without the shrimp. She ordered it and loved it! For dessert I was able to order something which was not even on the menu and they were quick to oblige. Without a doubt I was totally satisfied with my experience and will be back. This place not only offers great food but also great experiences as well. They have live music, and even paint/art nights. You definitely should take the time to visit this place, you will not be disappointed

I've been wanting to try Manjares for drinks and a bite since I already know how good their baked goods are for breakfast. Tonight was our chance despite traffic jams on the Parkway and snow drifts that makes parking everywhere in New Haven a treasure hunt. Decor is beautiful, ambiance is chill and relaxing. Very reminiscent of Olea without the downtown hustle and bustle. Menu is small yet carefully curated with something for everyone. We came specifically for potatoes bravas, one of our favorites. Saw it on the menu online but was told it was no longer available. Our server, Tabitha, suggested some Yucca fries which was not on the menu but she made a request to the kitchen for us. They were delicious and honestly if they were in the menu we would've ordered that as well. Fried calamari was seasoned and fried to absolutely tender perfection. The coating was light and crispy. My wife loved the aioli and picked onion combo on it. I preferred the lemon. Both of us decided to get a pasta course, bolognese and carbonara. For a non-Italian place to cook both of these dishes with such perfection blew us away. Flavorful bolognese that wasn't drenched in tomato sauce coated the al dente rigatoni perfectly. The carbonara was rich and savory with a little pepper accented by the guanciale. My wife had issues finishing ir and I suggested taking it home. She then finished it out of spite I believe. For $25 each, the pasta dishes were both satisfying without making you feel so full and bloated that you needed a wheelbarrow to get you back to the car. Plenty of food for even the biggest eater. Well worth the money. The attention to depth of flavors was evident. These were not some thrown together pasta dishes. Our compliments to the chef. Tabitha was great. Her cocktails were fantastic. She was attentive without being intrusive and has a great sense of humor. We are definitely coming back.

He and his lovely wife Ana have created a little haven in the neighborhood. The food was excellent-- my friends and I enjoyed the fried artichoke salad, grilled octopus, crispy calamari, the branzino and the carbonara. Everything came out either with a bright sauce, perfect vegetables or out of the ordinary accompaniments (like pickled onions with the calamari!). Delicious! And our server Tabitha took such good care of us to top it all off! A great start to the weekend.

That got me interested and wanted to check it out. I saw they had a huge duck sign outside which was even more intriguing. I came in for lunch and the waitress guided me to the back. There is a wonderful dining room in the back to relax in. They have the IG section where you could take pictures in. They had wings on one side and funny neon signs on the other. There is a comic strip with a duck in the prohibition era and bringing alcohol to New Haven which was very clever. I liked the silliness vibe of the restaurant. This place must be a hit during the weekends. The waitress came by and gave me the local tips on what everything was about. There is a lot of history to this place. To order of course I got the fried chicken and waffle bites. It was $15 for two pieces. I didn't want a big meal so this did the job. To drink they had a large menu of beverages with funny names. I loved the "Unusual Ducks-pect" or the "Mango Noir." I needed something nonalcoholic for the lunch hour. There was a drink called Dubai Dusk which intrigued me. It had fresh espresso, pistachio syrup, chocolate syrup, strawberry puree, and milk. I did not know if these things would all go together but it was wonderful. It had the right mix of sweetness and caffine. It also was a good mix with the chicken and waffles. I had a great meal here and will definitely come back again when I am in New Haven!

As for the drinks, they had sake and whiskey, but no umeshu (plum wine), which was a bit disappointing. It's a common Japanese drink and is even used in some of the cocktails on the menu. When we inquired, the server said the cocktails are pre-mixed so they don't have it, which seemed odd for a cocktail bar. The server didn't even seem to know what umeshu was, because she suggested looking at their other wines, when umeshu isn't even a wine. It's just translated to plum wine in English, but it's a liquor made from Japanese plums. For food, we ordered: - shishito peppers - wagyu uni & toast - tempura fish & chips The wagyu uni & toast and fish & chips came out first, together. It seemed our order for shishito peppers hadn't been put through, so it came 15 min later, with no explanation. So the order was off but the fish & chips and shishito peppers were good. The uni was delicious, but we didn't enjoy the pairing with the wagyu at all, mainly because it was mostly fat. It was so fatty, after the first bite, we took the meat off and just ate the rest. We still had a nice evening, but this wasn't the best dining experience we've had.
