My family's experience with this restaurant was very disappointing. A new employee in our family was expected to work with very little training and was spoken to in a way that we found disrespectful. When we raised our concerns professionally, the response we received did not acknowledge the importance of treating employees with respect or providing proper training. We also had to follow up to ensure payment for the hours that were worked. While the restaurant did confirm that payment would be made, the overall communication and handling of the situation left us with little confidence in the way employees are treated. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I believe businesses should value their employees, provide proper training, communicate professionally, and create a respectful workplace. read more

Enjoy my Thursday happy hour experience at Solun. The bartender was so pleasant and enjoyable. He acknowledged us the moment we walked in and made us feel welcomed. Had a seat at the bar and he gave a bit of time to look over the happy hour menu. And I decided on the French martini and short rib nachos which came out very quickly nice and hot. The French martini was made perfectly!!! The atmosphere was good music was lively and enjoyable. This was my first time in Solun and I will definitely be back. Went for what I thought was a Mother's Day "brunch" but was forced to order from a special Mother's Day dinner menu where there was $7-10 tacked onto each menu item. food was good but not worth paying $25 for a single crab cake or a children's portion of calamari. read more

I brought my mom and her friend here for a late night dinner. we ordered clams in a half shell they came to the table smelling a bad fish wheather it was the clams or the plate it stunk we had the waiter smell it as well he immediately brought them back to the kitchen. we replaced it with a lobster bisque soup. this soup came to the table 2 bowls with absolutely no lobster and a watery broth. when we asked about the soup. the waiter seemed frightened and didn't want to go get the manger but did so. as the manager approached the table he bag an yelling at my mom and her friend saying they already complained about the smell of the clams (that had not been touched) . now they complain of the bisque they can go!! as I tried to calm him down and explain we come to this restaurant we never head such bad food he said so! get the bell out of here. and continued on his rant. Ive never seen such obnoxious behavior from a business. they will never see me again hope this helps someone from getting food poison because he will make you feel horrible for sending his rotten food back. read more

Sunday Brunch was flavorful, mimosa was, well a mimosa . The server was kind enough to put an orange slice when requested. I have included a couple of photos, I find this helpful when searching for a place to dine. Shrimp and Corn Chowder was sweet from the grilled fresh corn, and tender shrimp. Herbs and peppered perfectly. No salt detected which was a pleasant surprise! Served with a slice of grilled sourdough topped this flavorful starter without question! Lobster Benedict was actually Devine! Eggs were perfectly poached, plump sweet lobster chunks, balanced perfectly with chewy toasted ciabatta. Potatoes were tasty, tender and seasoned with sofitas (?) so good. Tiny diced red onions, peppers and herbs scattered made the entire meal flavorful and fresh. We have been wanting to go here but have not had a chance. We were able to stop by for a quick lunch just to check it out. The dining area looked nice and as we got there when it opens we decided to sit at the bar. Server was great and service was fast . The menu for small plates looked great but as we were in a hurry we both just ordered quesadillas and a drink. I only have 4 stars as it was just a quick bite. We stopped in for lunch today, it had been a while since I've been there last. Although they weren't very busy, the bartender/server was absolutely wonderful. We were never rushed nor ignored, she was pleasant, communicative. I wish I had gotten her name to request her in the future. The Ahi tuna wrap was full of flavor and spiced just right. The fries ( given the choice or salad ) were crispy,hot and not greasy . She did check on us in a timely way and clearly made a positive impression. Some of these little details may seem insignificant, but far too often a guest feels short changed. We left here feeling grateful for the experience. Had no idea what to expect from this place, we kind of just visited this establishment without looking at any reviews or anything. We visited the place on a Saturday afternoon, just a bit after lunch but surprisingly during happy hour on a Saturday. We were the only people there so we had the place to ourselves and the manager actually took care of us while there. She was so pleasant and helpful with the menu and all of the other specials they have. They had drink specials and tapas specials as well. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria which was half price and delicious. To start our meal we also ordered some Guacamole and chips, the guacamole was made fresh and it to was delicious. We next ordered our entree, I had the seafood pappardelle which was out of this world. The pasta was really good along with clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari. The flavors were ridiculously good. I truly enjoyed my meal. The best part was finishing it and using the rest of the bread to finish with the broth and juices which were left over. My girlfriend ordered the ceviche which was made to order. Most of the time the ceviche is pre-made and it usually contains shrimp which by the way my girlfriend is allergic to, so she can never order it. The manager es quicker to mention that everything is made to order and they could prepare without the shrimp. She ordered it and loved it! For dessert I was able to order something which was not even on the menu and they were quick to oblige. Without a doubt I was totally satisfied with my experience and will be back. We have been frequent customers prior to Covid and during Covid. Sometimes sitting outside freezing to come to eat and support this business. So disappointed with the service today. The owner lectured us when we asked to make our calamari fried when it came how we didn't want it. The sangrias are usually great but no luck today and their vodka soda was mediocre as they now don't serve Tito's vodka as well. The entree dish should've been served with rice and that didn't come along with no small plates as well. We have decided to skip for now on. As fellow local business owners, we try to support other local businesses but will skip returning for awhile. read more

Sat down with my wife to enjoy a little live music and have some dinner, my wife ordered calamari and eggplant rollatini for her meal which she liked the calamari $11 but the rollatini came as a single roll up in a guacamole ramekin for $10 ?? Now my meal, I was hungrier so I ordered the carne asada $25 . The waiter which was a very nice guy handed me my plate and as I brought it down to the table in front of me ( um is there a hidden camera some where ? Lol) I'll let you decide. Nice people work here and I won't blame them, I will say the owner needs to think about the food coming out of the kitchen, portion control is out of control especially on my plate. They only give you 1 piece of bread (the bread guy comes around at random intervals like when your dinner is done). Beware the seafood. Had the lobster stuffed artichokes and it was so salty and fishy... Also had the paella which was not fully cooked (think hard crunchy rice, not smooth creamy risotto). I am not a picky eater and I had it wrapped to go after two bites instead of sending it back and asking for a refund. Two hours from start to finish and they brought the risotto after everyone else at the table had finished eating and was ready for desert. We went to Solin Bar and Tapas tonight for a celebration after my daughters final performance at the Shubert. We had a 6:30 reservation and we were seated right away. The restaurant was very dark and I needed to use the light on my phone to view the menu. We started with the ham croquettes and fried calamari. The croquettes were good and very tasty. The calamari was delicious !! We all agreed the spicy marinara along with the fried hot peppers were yummy!! Next we had the chorizo flat bread and the short rib ravioli. The flat bread was good .. we all agreed there was an abundance if onions which overpowered the dish. The ravioli were very good and we all wished the dish was larger.
