Pork chop

Such a warm inviting place on a chilly fall night! Huge fireplace with rustic woodwork and stone. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Pumpkin apple martini was delish and the wine pours were generous! Food was EXCELLENT and we are food snobs. The salmon was amazing. Perfectly cooked. Desserts were also incredibly tasty. Totally off the beaten path but worth the extra minutes off 95. Check it out!

Wow! Just had dinner here and it was excellent! Drinks - Spicy Margarita and Fig Martini well made! Dinner was amazing. Homemade lasagna delivered. Steak salad as well. Really the BEST French fries I have ever had. We can walk here and I think we will be doing this more!

They do a really good job here. It's not super busy because it's out of the way but only a few minutes from my house. The menu is limited but everything I've eaten was delicious and served piping hot. The last server we had, Violet, was wonderful. She was charging and efficient. They are closed as of 12/26 for about a month as they update the kitchen. The dining room is wide open and when buddy can be loud from the bar clientele. The owners did add sound board which was very thoughtful but patrons can get really loud after a few drinks. I recommend this place, the pork ribeye was really great-super tender and cooked perfectly. The pic shows a burger that I ordered a month ago.

Not like the in Manhattan , where they serve the mini martinis (always a pet peeve of mine). Service was excellent, we had Jasmin and a good support staff, a local kid. Food was better than expected. We live right outside the city, and we love our food, obsessively. For starters we had some salad, fried calamari, clams with chorizo in a nice broth and a special fried flourettes. All good, clams in broth was my pick for best app. For entrees we had veal chop, pork chop Milanese with salad, linguine with clams, linguine fra Diablo and 2 fish. Portions are huge, we should have shared. We ended with 1 desert to share a molten lava cake with some fancy ice cream. I'm not a big lava guy, but I loved the ice cream. Expresso were delicious too Price was very good. 468 plus tip, with 2 drinks each too. Place was packed and had a good vibe with a friendly atmosphere. I asked to meet the owner to thank her and tell her that we had a great time. Turns out she was 9ne of the runners out on 5he floor watching over everything. I think he4 name was Vicky. Just want to give some love to a small Italian restaurant whose killing it

I love the other Hachiroku locations in New Haven and was excited to try this cocktail bar…read more The atmosphere was nice and although the place isn't huge, they had several different seating options. As for the drinks, they had sake and whiskey, but no umeshu (plum wine), which was a bit disappointing. It's a common Japanese drink and is even used in some of the cocktails on the menu. When we inquired, the server said the cocktails are pre-mixed so they don't have it, which seemed odd for a cocktail bar. The server didn't even seem to know what umeshu was, because she suggested looking at their other wines, when umeshu isn't even a wine. It's just translated to plum wine in English, but it's a liquor made from Japanese plums. For food, we ordered: - shishito peppers - wagyu uni & toast - tempura fish & chips The wagyu uni & toast and fish & chips came out first, together. It seemed our order for shishito peppers hadn't been put through, so it came 15 min later, with no explanation. So the order was off but the fish & chips and shishito peppers were good. The uni was delicious, but we didn't enjoy the pairing with the wagyu at all, mainly because it was mostly fat. It was so fatty, after the first bite, we took the meat off and just ate the rest. We still had a nice evening, but this wasn't the best dining experience we've had.
