I'll start off by saying that if you have never had wood-fired, brick over bread, you have missed out on one of life's simple treasures. The pumped up, bleached flour, preservative laced white bread you find in your local grocery store is an absolute abomination! Soltane's does bread right, period! I love soltane for 2 simple reasons: they have really really great coffee and they care deeply about the community. Not only are the managers way more knowledgable about the bean than I could have imagined possible, but each has a heart of gold. Totally addicted to chocolate chip cookies and jalapeño rolls (on Saturdays). The people that work here are SO nice.

Coffee was great and the toast and jam hit the spot. I had a wonderful conversation with one of the baristas. Would highly recommend!

Good drip coffee and breads. Not for those in a hurry as their drip and filter method takes a few minutes. But all in all a pretty good cup of coffee if you're out and about in Phoenixville. read more

I've visited Camphill Soltane before and Soltane Breads & Spreads is a truly awesome off-shoot that makes some of the best pastries I've encountered in the United States. Even the croissants are immense, rich with flavor, and very filling. The prices might seem high, but the money is going towards a very worthwhile mission. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops of all time. Incredible espresso drinks, very smooth pour overs, and some of the best breads and pastries you'll have. I'm hooked. Teeny tiny coffee shop with decent aesthetics but unreasonable prices. $4.50 for a 12oz latte is utterly ridiculous. We tried the vegan bomb cookie for $2.25. It was dry and hard. The cold brew was another $3.50 for a mason jar half filled with ice. The coffee is good, but not good enough to justify the outrageous prices in Phoenixville. The air conditioning seemed to be broken because there were three buckets in the middle of the bathroom floor a quarter of the way filled with murky water dripping from the ceiling vent. Absolutely one of the worst experiences I have had in a coffee shop. read more

Thank heavens for Soltane! I just had a DELICIOUS macchiato (not the Starbucks version) and an Americano. I was surprised and very much delighted to find they are pulling Counter Cultures roasts-yum! I also grabbed some of their fresh, house baked goodies: chocolate scone, oatmeal cookie and a croissant. Can't wait to try those and I certainly cannot wait to pass through Pville again soon for another macchiato! Very friendly people behind the counter! read more

This is, frankly, the best coffee that you can purchase at incredibly low prices in suburban Philadelphia. As a long time coffee drinker, having been exposed to expresso and drip brews in Argentina and the Tri-state region for over 5 years, this place has knocked me off my feat. With the first cup. The Soltane is not open 7 days a week, but don't let that stop you. They employ autistic children and teach them how to bake bread, help around the kitchen, and learn great social skills. The atmosphere was terribly warm and sincere and devoid of posh and pretentious attitudes. It is such a great relief to find a place like the Soltane. Please come out and support. Support generously. Cheery, enthusiastic, informative staffer talked to me about his bread and guided me towards a beautiful loaf. I asked what I needed to try, and he said "chocolate croissant, definitely if I'd like to to be a repeat customer." I had a bite oh the street, and wow! This is no bread formed into croissant shape like elsewhere in the area. I had to finish it in the sun on a bench across the street because this flaky masterpiece could not be confined to my minivan. High quality chocolate inside, and I'll definitely buy again when I'm in P'ville. Such a treat! read more

Soltane is by far my favorite coffee shop this side of the city. Peter knows my order, and exactly how I like my coffee. The freshly prepared pastries are to die for! It has the perfect vibe to come in and melt away into a book, catch up on some emails and work, or sit outside with friends and catch up on their picnic tables. The new renovation is warm and rich in wooden detail without losing its rustic charm. And they are expanding their hours and are even now open on Tuesday's! read more

this place puts 'phoenixville' on the map! as others previously mentioned, from the friendly staff, great cause, delicious coffee & croissants not to mention baked breads this place really was a breath of fresh air for us travelers from phoenix az. someone previously mentioned something negative regarding only whole milk being used and a supposed correlation to obesity. nice gesture and i'm sure well intentioned unfortunately false. this place is awesome for many reasons and one of them being that it's wholesome and all natural at least from what I saw and tasted. i get annoyed when I see folks pushing for anything other than whole milk but then realize I too was once very much out of touch with reality thinking I was well informed before our kids were born regarding milk. This place is amazing! I love that its a small little cafe with a comfortable environment. The staff was very friendly and flexible. They were supportive of each other and helped make a drink for me since I wanted to avoid caffeine while breastfeeding. The bakery items were delicious too! read more

Great place to find artisan bread. Just today bought a freshly baked wheat baquette made with organic flour - I thought a bargain for a tasty organic bread at $3. The also have plenty of breads without yeast that are tasty and an amazing sourdough. This bakery is affliated with the local CampHill Special School. I am happy to be a return customer not only for the friendly service and great breads but also because it helps the some amazing kids in our community. FYI not open everyday more like Thurs - Sun. read more
