Loved this spot! Had a lot of interesting books on travel and other topics. Cute stuff!

LOVE this place! Wonderful, unique eclectic finds for the home. Definitely worth visiting periodically. They always have something new and fun to look at and buy. read more

Coffee table book central and interesting objects for the home.Nice people working at Solo. Eclectic mix of CDs. Worth a visit when in Solana Beach on Cedros. read more

This is a beautiful store. There's an architecture firm on the other side of the building. Lots of gift ideas and gorgeous stationary. I found a book here that I will have to come back to purchase. It's called "101 Things I Learned in Architecture School"; lots of insightful things about what kind of spaces people are attracted to and how to cultivate creativity. Their inventory of books are all fun/coffee-table type books but I'll definitely come back often! read more

Products are great and I've spent a lot of money there but there I will never shop there again because of the harassment of my grandsons. In particular I have an energetic but respectful grandson. There is one person that works there that on two separate incidents has told him to not play with the toys and today about a drink he was drinking herbal tea from Lofty (which I highly recommend) and as soon we walked through the door she harassed us about him spilling it! He's 2 years and 4 months but wasn't running around with it. Until they get rid of her I will not return and I've spent thousands. Really unfair treatment read more

I love this store. The owner, whom I imagine is a woman, came up with an ingenious idea of creating small rentable vignettes showcasing unique and original pieces varying from pillows, books, refurbished furniture, nic-nacs, stationary, and kids stuff. I use this store as one of my creative outlets as an inspiring place to be. I have never bought anything here since it can be a little pricey for the things I really want like the salvaged industrial tables, chairs, and lighting fixtures. But they have some nice little gifty trinkets for reasonable prices. The bonus is that my boyfriend loves this place too. The people are friendly and helpful. I have no complaints about SOLO except for the fact that I'M not the owner! read more

I would have given Solo a 5 star rating if my review only included products offered. However, when I walk in an upscale gift boutique I expect to be treated like a valuable customer not an unwanted guest. I was horrified how we were followed around because we had children with is (who we supervised the WHOLE TIME). If you have a children's section and do not want children to touch the toys, then do not have them out of boxes or put them behind glass. A book was taken out of my daughters hand while she was still thumbing through it. It was not a children's book, true, but it was on a table full of books on display to touch and look through. I would never shop here again and was so surprised at this treatment We would had bought so much more if we had felt welcome. read more

The products are nice but the customer service was some of the most disrespectful I've ever experienced. The woman with brown hair was following us around saying they were closed. We had driven from San Diego specifically to their store and was in before closing. She basically said "we'll you have to understand stand we have been here all day.." Not sure I'm the one that needs to understand. I'm embarrassed for her. And I think some customer service re-education is in order. read more

I love this store. They have so many unique and beautiful gifts (albeit a little pricey) to be found here. I love their card selection and that the cards all look like a piece of art. They have a fantastic collection of books regarding architecture, gardens and travel. Everytime I come in here, I want to leave with half the store. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they are a little on the expensive side for what you get and I wish they stayed open later! read more

Like everyone else, I feel this is a highlight of the Design District. Very avant-garde, vintage-inspired furniture, kids art, books, and stationary. Most of the merchandise is expensive, but the stationary, etc is fairly moderate for upscale items. They share a lot with other stores for parking, but there is also plenty of parking on the street. read more

Beautiful store. I have purchased many items for my home here. Some of the items can be a bit pricey but everything is so unique I really feel that it is worth it. It is also great for smaller/ less expensive items like greeting cards. They have a great selection of unique cards. Also, they usually have some pretty Christmas ornaments that are great for gift exchanges! read more

I love this place because it makes my pretentious side want to buy a coffee table made of vintage film reels and purchase French books for my (imaginary) children. Right at home in the Cedros Avenue design district, the shop is filled with thoughtfully beautiful (albeit pricey) items. Gorgeous coffee-table books, quirky travel guides, and art monographs, unique treasures for the home, and cards and stationery fill this large warehouse-like building. It reminds me of San Francisco. read more

Very cute store with a nice selection. Incredibly rude service. The brunette woman working the store was completely rude and barked at me the minute we walked in the door telling me that they "were closing and I couldn't shop". The one behind the counter with the glasses was much more hospitable and told me I had a couple minutes. Two minutes later the Brunette B was stalking me and giving me a dirty looks. So sad for you, San Diego. Worst hospitality and customer service I've ever seen. We are from out of town and made a special trip to stop by solo for gifts. Due to heavy traffic we made it five minutes before 6 o'clock when they were closing. I will find somewhere else to drop a couple hundred dollars of gift purchases. DO NOT SHOP HERE. read more

All kinds of COOL stuff. Plus, this street is RAD for the area. GO!

Gorgeous!!!! Love this designer row and this shop fits perfectly into this storybook street. Beautiful items, hand crafted gifts, and corners dedicated to different design types. My favorite is the industrial chic corner with steel, wood, and filament bulbs. Spend time browsing in all the different corners- you'll be surprised at the gems you discover while letting your eyes wander over the vast goods in store. read more

A beautiful, spacious store that invites you to take your time and browse. They sell a lot of overpriced knick-knacks for your home, coffee table books, accessories, and gift items. I had to force myself to walk away without spending too much money on trinkets I didn't need. read more

Always a great gift store. It never fails that I end up buying a gift for my host and for me to take back home.

I love love love this store. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is that I can't afford much of anything they sell. I love that they sell stuff that isn't mass-produced, that is made by individual artists. I purchased a faux-taxidermied deer head made out of papier mache here and I love it so much. If you are looking for a unique gift, this is the perfect place to look. read more

The best place in Cedros! It has that "New york loft feel" and plenty of trinkets to fill the missing voids in your day. Love the flea-market feel of it all. Great books on design and cool living too. read more

I've been shopping at this store since it opened. Very unique things. Expect to pay $$$. Great selection of paper products, cards, gift wrap, calendars, etc. great place for coffee table books, candles, throws, housewares items. The ladies that work there are indeed, for the most part, fairly rude :( sometimes I'll pop in while out running errands, baseball cap on (hoping I don't run in to anyone I know!) other times I stop in if in on my way to meet someone for lunch or after lunch. You definitely get sized up. You know the type, that will look you up and down and barely smile at you, yup, this IS that place. If you're looking for something unique pop-in - just don't expect to be treated warmly. read more

Expensive, but an amazingly cute store. Reminds me of Anthropology, but less hip/floral/whatever their theme is, and more sophisticated! I love just browsing the entire place - Hands down the cutest boutique ever filled with everything you've ever wanted. Bought a black and white map of Paris to a copy of "Parisian Chic". I so badly wanted to buy everything in there! read more

This shop is an amazingly currated collection of cool things! They carry neat books, beautiful jewelry, awesome kid things and practical but pretty househould items, all under one big roof. The staff were very helpful and informative and we spent ages just touring around to inspect the goods before we finally made our purchases that they had set aside for us at the till (which were picked out right at the start of our visit)! My only sadness is that this store is so very, very far away :( read more

great selection of home wares, design and art books, good cooking wares and recipe books, a must shop here if your looking to having a modern hip furnished home...I love coming here for inspiration. The service is very good and sweet ladies at the counter. Although things here are a bit pricey. read more

I love this store! While visiting friends in San Diego, I had the pleasure of visiting SoLo. Such a fun shop with awesome books, paper goods & so much more. While my shopping experience was quite pleasant, what happened afterwards is amazing. My friend found a set of drinking glasses that she really loved but didn't buy. I decided that they would be an awesome thank you gift for her after I returned to DC, so I contacted SoLo to see if they could help me! They were SO accommodating. Not only did they find the glasses I wanted, but they delivered the package to her home as they felt the cost of shipping would be too great. I've never encountered such awesome customer service! read more

A really great furniture/stationary/unique trinkets store in a cool warehouse. I love the exposed beams. They've got some good stuff here, but what I like the most is the atmosphere. Definitely a good place if you want to find some unique gifts. The entire Cedros Design District is a fun place to browse and shop! read more

solo is a fantastic place to walk around in and be visually entertained. they also have an amazing selection of art/design books! the other items they carry are great as well, although overpriced. i love to just wander around the store and check out the different display booths...they are so creative and inspiring!! read more

I have a small crush on this store. Yes, some items are expensive, but this is a great place to kill some time. It is neat, clean and has a dynamic mix of new and used. Great spot to pick up a unique gift for that special someone on your list! A nice, but small selection of children's items and toys that are not of the toys or babies r us varietal! read more

Cute store, great looking selection of books. Lots of good paper products and home accessories. A number of the same products they carry at Paper Source in San Francisco. The best store we went into in the Cadros Design District. read more

Wonderful space, great finds and friendly service. The only drawback is that I've seen some of these items at Anthropology for cheaper. I don't live near Solo so I wish you had ONLINE SHOPPING! read more

Love love this place!! Beautiful things from around the world, color, texture, design, books. Really made me smile just to walk through this beautiful shop. They also have vintage items. The prices are great! Love at first sight for me!! read more

I spent the afternoon on Cedros and this is the only store I spent $ at. They have baby/kids books here that I have only seen online and never seen in stores before, so this was a real treat for me. Cute stuff here that isn't junky and isn't too out of reach cost-wise. read more

I LOVE this store. They have the most interesting selection of things to both decorate you home with, and give as gifts. Also, the women who work there are very nice and helpful. This is one of the best stores for home decor I've ever come across in SD. I would recommend a visit to anyone is is looking for furniture and accesories, or just good ideas. read more

It's like Anthropologie, but better. Something for everyone. An eclectic mix of modern and vintage goods. I can go here and find a gift for anyone. the staff is super friendly too! read more

Super cool! Very fun and afordable. Industrial chic. I would tell you that you will find things well organized and moderately priced (note some of the antiques are costly to to their rare nature.) I really enjoyed this boutique and would tell you to visit if you have the chance. read more

I wish I could give this place waaaay more than 5 stars! I'M SERIOUSLY IN LOVE with everything I lay my eyes on. The books here are incredibly fascinating and the combination of modern and vintage luxe is right up my alley. Truly a special place to find that unique gift for someone dear to your soul. If you're into architecture, design, food, or just simplicity at its best come here. You won't regret it :-) read more

You know when everyone writes about the cards, you're thinking how expensive everything else must be. I found that the markup on some items were huge. Like soap for $9 when I've definitely seen it for less at other boutiques. An "antique" beaker will run you over $60. I'm pretty sure you can find it cheaper at VWR. It is a fun store with lots of design/architecture books, but if you're a savvy shopper and know your boutiques and online resources, you might walk out with only a card or two. read more

Love this place, it has a great range of products from vintage to modern. The prices range from reasonable to pricey. There are unique finds that are truly amazing. The store is set up in little vignette's and then there is a card/stationary section. Really great place to buy a gift, decorate or admire. read more

Here I was, appreciating all of their furniture and books...ready to spend a lot of money and support their business. I grab a sheep skin rug and show my wife, and the woman working said, "ugh yeah let's not....$190." She was acting like I couldn't afford it. I was so offended that I immediately left and will never come back. Too bad, I really liked everything in there. read more
