I was on my 3rd week here when I decided to get something quick. I'm not one to EVER go to Mexican restaurant away from home. Usually always dissatisfied but this place gave me hope. The flour tortillas are amazing. Fluffy and huge. Their burrito size tacos officially trying to make themselves look skinny. When I ordered 2 tacos, I didn't know I was ordering 2 meals. Almost everything I had was amazing. Personally, not a fan or the rice or menudo. I ordered the menudo on a Tuesday JUST BECAUSE it is never available during the week. I was a bit surprised on the meat used for the beef fajita and chicken fajita. The beef were slices of asada meat, did not taste bad, just not what I was exoecting The chicken fajita too, almost like it was smashed flat with a tenderizer hammer. Surprisingly enough, really good. Amazing sear on the meat that gave it a great flavor Migas would have been perfect with fresh chips. The Migas are not on the menu. Since they do have chilaquiles, I figured I'd ask. They came out good except for the soggy chips. Mold stale chips that could be hidden with all the juices from chilaquiles. I will order again and ask for the chips to be fresh or dropped again to crisp them up read more

If these walls could talk.... This place has been around for a long time and if it wasn't so good, it could not have stood tge test of time. I had the huevos rancheros. Eggs were perfect, potatoes crispy yet soft and those beans!!! Thats the real deal, true Mexican not Texmex! Hubby had the divorced eggs. His plate is clean! I would say this place is a hidden gem, but it's not. Come here on the weekend and it is full of Westside locals. They know what's up. Better quality taqueria fare than most others in the city. This place has stuck around for good reason. If you don't speak Spanish, there is a language barrier for sure. Welcome to South Texas. It's pretty easy to navigate as long as you are conscientious and patient. Great food. Servers and staff listen very well. If you are in Corpus, go out of your way to come here. Every thing was fantastic this morning! It was as our first time and it will now be our go to taqueria on the weekend mornings when we're in town. There was plenty of seating and we were attended to immediately. The coffee was hot and fresh with plenty of creamer that came with each refill; we did not have to wait. I had the huevos rancheros with cheese on my eggs (sauce on the side) and the cheese was folded into the perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. They were folded and fluffy! Beans had a great flavor and the papas were very tender. My husband had a plate with a chicken breast, eggs, beans and potatoes. His chicken was fork tender and beautifully seasoned. The red and green salsa were very good - the green was his favorite because of the flavor. My ranchero sauce had a perfect comino touch! The tortillas were big, soft and hot. Service was prompt and friendly. Such a great way to start our trip home! We can't wait to come back! read more

This is a wonderful place to get a meal. The atmosphere is very pleasant and casual, great for friends or families. The restaurant is run by incredibly friendly Mexican folks who will make you feel right at home. Yami was very kind and, since I'm new here, recommended some venues that I could go to for Latin music in the area. As for the food... the chips are probably the best I've ever had and the salsa was great too. I don't eat meat much, so the lack of all veggie options was kind of a downside for me, but I decide to try something new with the mollejas. The meat was not really "me taza de té" but if you like meat you will probably love it. The arroz, frijoles, guacamole, pico de gallo, and veggies that came with it were all very good and high quality. I went back and they were kind enough to make me a fajita plate with no meat upon my request. I may end up moving to Corpus Christi, but if I don't, I will be sure to stop in on my next visit! (hopefully my Spanish is better by then too lol). This is my favorite restaurant in Corpus Christi and you should definitely give it a try read more

Being in a new place we love trying the different kind of food. Solis has a very good selection of food and I don't think anyone can go wrong with the number of pages that they have listed for all the items. The ground beef taco and cheese enchiladas was worth the wait. We would come back to this restaurant if we are ever in the Padre Island area again. Homemade Mexican food that is so good! One of the top Mexican restaurants in my book. Ordered the number two and couldn't finish the plate! I'm 6ft 4 190lbs and this plate beat me. Chips and salsa are yummy, don't fill up on them before the huge portion of food you ordered arrived. Lesson learned. Very cheap and you get more than your moneys worth. I got the Texas Plate that was Carne Guisada and two enchiladas rice and beans. Definitely ask for homemade corn tortillas. Absolutely superb! I ordered takeout. 1 chicken fajita and 2 Solis burritos. When I got there, they told me they did not have pork for the burritos. So carne asada it was. Had to wait since they didn't have them prepared. Got back to our hotel to find we had tortillas for the fajitas, but no fajita entree! I called back to ask them to credit us, but they only wanted to offer a credit. I live in Dallas, so that does me no good. I hung up and will just have to write off the cost difference. 4 star rating on food (at least what we got) 1 star rating for incompetent employees and bad customer service.
