I would say this place is a hidden gem, but it's not. Come here on the weekend and it is full of Westside locals. They know what's up. Better quality taqueria fare than most others in the city. This place has stuck around for good reason. If you don't speak Spanish, there is a language barrier for sure. Welcome to South Texas. It's pretty easy to navigate as long as you are conscientious and patient. Great food. Servers and staff listen very well. If you are in Corpus, go out of your way to come here. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Large caldo de res, side of rice and beans, and homemade corn tortillas.

Fast service. Good food. Stopped by today for lunch and ordered the large caldo de res. Big serving plenty of beef, cabbage, carrots and a few pieces of squash. To my surprise no potatoes and corn. Nice fresh homemade corn tortillas also came with a serving of rice and beans. Great price large bowl was u see $10.00 plus the tax.

Nice chips and spicy Salsa with Cerveza Frio!

Came in for an early dinner. May come back for breakfast tomorrow! Cool old restaurant vibe you'd see around Texas in the 70's. 80's or today. Fresh crispy chips and spicy salsa were first and the food began coming. I ordered #31 Solis Special-shrimp, beef, chicken and sausage fajitas! Quality meats, great shrimp and everything was served really hot & fast. Service was great, the beer was cold and the prices were low for the quantity & quality. Loved the fresh corn tortillas and tasty charro beans. I saw they serve breakfast. I may really come back tomorrow!

Stopped in after a long flight and it was a good idea I did, my carne asada burrito was excellent and service was great, I can't wait to come back when in town again.

This is a wonderful place to get a meal. The atmosphere is very pleasant and casual, great for friends or families. The restaurant is run by incredibly friendly Mexican folks who will make you feel right at home. Yami was very kind and, since I'm new here, recommended some venues that I could go to for Latin music in the area. As for the food... the chips are probably the best I've ever had and the salsa was great too. I don't eat meat much, so the lack of all veggie options was kind of a downside for me, but I decide to try something new with the mollejas. The meat was not really "me taza de té" but if you like meat you will probably love it. The arroz, frijoles, guacamole, pico de gallo, and veggies that came with it were all very good and high quality. I went back and they were kind enough to make me a fajita plate with no meat upon my request. I may end up moving to Corpus Christi, but if I don't, I will be sure to stop in on my next visit! (hopefully my Spanish is better by then too lol). This is my favorite restaurant in Corpus Christi and you should definitely give it a try

Found this place close to where I work.. nice little hole in the wall that serves up good food. Definitely will stop here more often, wonder how the breakfast is. The 3 enchilada plate with rice and beans had me looking for spot to take a fat nap. Hittem up

A decent place to eat . The rea was great and the waitress really try her best. She got my order wrong but quickly made it right . Clean and well maintained place . Very convenient place to go once you leave the Selena Museum.

$8. Wow. Awesome, authentic Mexican cuisine!!! Will definitely come again. No frills, but the food is absolutely spot on. This plate will easily feed 2-3 and only cost $8. Unbelievable. Highly recommended

As a vegan, that made me excited because actual Mexican food usually has less cheese and can be made vegan. The business is quaint. There was a friendly hostess to welcome us in and our server was very hospitable. We ordered the chile relleno without cheese, zucchini in pasilla pepper sauce, and mole verde off the vegetarian options on the menu. We also enjoyed guacamole and chips. Our server was happy to accommodate our vegan modifications and it was really easy to communicate with him. The flavors are just WOW! Hands down the best guacamole of my life. The sauces are vibrant and rich. Everything tasted so fresh. And the prices for this quality of food cannot be beat. My husband and I literally licked sauce off the plates to make sure we did not miss one ounce of that authentic Mexican flavor. This place is top of our list of businesses to visit next time we are in town visiting family. We had an incredible experience and cannot wait to continue to explore the vegetarian menu options.

I'm not a professional food critic, but I do know seasoning, regional Mexican flavors, and what well‑prepared food should taste like -- and this just wasn't it for us. The restaurant didn't feel well-kept, and it appeared that only one server and one cook were working, plus we and another couple were the only ones there. We were served chips and salsa to start. The salsa, a taquera‑style orange sauce, was actually the best part of the meal. The chips, however, were extremely hard, not fresh, and definitely not warm. They looked house‑made, but whatever they were fried in made them almost inedible. I ordered the ribeye street tacos, and the steak was overcooked, had an odd taste, and wasn't enjoyable. I asked for extra cilantro and onions, which didn't happen, and the chimichurri they brought out was basically oil with a few seasonings floating in it. I almost complimented the Dr Pepper because it had a unique sweetness -- until I realized why. The red glass had visible staining on the inside. When I wiped the rim with my napkin, it came off dirty. They also don't offer straws, so whatever residue was in that glass is what you end up drinking. Between the food quality, the cleanliness concerns, and the overall condition of the restaurant, this was a no for us. How this place has earned such high mentions is honestly beyond me.

The most authentic flavor item in my lunch was the refried beans that look like poop at first sight. Rice was bland with cumin flavor and the mole was the most disappointing. Might as well have called them regular enchiladas, the flavor was basic taco mix with a tiny taste of mole. Just a thick cumin or comino paste. Enchiladas should be dripping with sauce in the inside. These were dry tortillas that were barely garnished with sauce on top. The chicken inside was very flavorul but dry. Then the 16 oz lemonade was 4$ and it was super sour ! I never leave reviews. The corn, the bacon wrapped jalapeños and the nachos with tinga chicken. The corn had something bitter in it I chalked it up to the lime, little to much but I'm sure can be ordered without. The bacon wrapped jalapeños were perfectly made and zero fire which I appreciate. The nachos were huge half corn tortillas with refried black beans and cheese when I added the chicken I didn't realize it would add 14 dollars to my nachos!! lol I honestly thought it made the nachos 14 dollars. The sweet tea is soooooo good So I said maybe based on my $59.00 lunch bill.

Naturally, I had to check it out--and let me tell you, this place absolutely lives up to the hype. I ordered the fish and shrimp dinner, and every bite was incredible. The seasoning on the rice, fish, and shrimp was spot-on, and the tortillas had that perfect, slightly charred finish that takes everything up a notch. Even the drink portions were generous--huge cups, which I appreciated. Service was friendly, the prices were very reasonable, and the overall experience was exactly what I was hoping for.
