The Forman gave me options and that calmed me down so I went with it. The driver showed up with a sturdy looking truck and knew what he was doing. The temperature was around zero and on the way to the shop that I was being towed to the drivers radio was communicating with the other drivers and they were busy! I then was told about the profit margin in the tow business and it is about the same as mine.. I always thought that they just rolled around in money! Anyway, the tow went well and the billing was easy, the price was what I expected and now I sit and wait for the dealer to fix my truck

I have been a long time loyal customer of the establishment for many years and where as in the past…read moreI have given them 5 star reviews, unfortunately as of my recent experiences my rating has changed and they have lost a customer. I recently brought my Lexus there telling them the a/c was blowing heat and I need it fixed. They called me back to tell me that my car had a several zones that needed to be checked and that at paying them an hourly rate I'd potentially be looking at spending thousands to repair it. I was also told that because my car was older (2009) that I may not want to spend money repairing it. I was charged a diagnoses and asked to pick up my car. I brought it home and googled how to fix it myself. With spending less than $100 and less than 10 minutes of labor, I changed the cabin filter ( packed with dirt & leaves), I popped the hood and cleared where the air flow foes into the car ( packed with dirt & leaves) and put in a can of refrigerant. What do you know, my a/c now works perfectly. I brought the same Lexus to them a few weeks ago to fix a shaking coming from the front driver side that caused a light to come on the dash. They called me back to tell me that my car had 4 codes, something going on with my exhaust and as far as the front end I needed struts of which they could only find 1 at a cost of $1000. And again told my car isn't worth investing in/ charged me a $131 diagnostic fee for a incorrect diagnoses. I took it to a mechanic on State st. in New Haven who for $1000 fixed my front and threw in a oil change.. The crazy part was I DIDN'T NEED STRUTS!!!! Aside from I replaced both air filters under the hood and what do you know.. NO MORE CODES!!! I recently brought my BMW X5 there to be repaired for going into limp mode. After about 3 visits and $100's spent on they're guessing, I never got 2 miles of driving out of it. I took the truck to State St. and by my explaining the problem without the truck with me, he told me I had a bad throttle body. Less than $400 later my truck is back on the road like it never left. I brought my mothers Jeep Liberty there to repair the heat/ charged $100's and 2 weeks later she has no heat. I sent my sister there to have her Hyundai Sonata, they told her the repair cost would exceed the value of the vehicle and that she should consider buying another car. She took the car to State St. and for a fraction of what Bruneau's was charging, put in another engine and had her back on the road in a couple of days.. I've been riding with this business for years, recommending them to several people over the years and how I've been dealt with lately is unfortunate but my business and support isn't valued there. I've learned that either I'm a better mechanic than they are (I'm not a mechanic) or they put forth no effort in fixing my cars.

The man that came to me took well over an hour to get there due to (high demand) and when he arrived he didn't speak a single word to me. After failing to remove the flat he insisted the only option was to tow it to their shop. I said alright it is what it is and started walking over to the cab of his truck where he promptly stated that I'd have to find my own ride. Standing there in shock, he then literally slammed his door and left me on the side of the highway. I had no option but to take an Uber to their shop at 2am to grab my personal belongings, including my house keys! Absolutely ridiculous. Come the next day I tried to pick up my vehicle and they attempted to charge me $800 for the tow and services. Attached to the bill were "equipment fees" and "night rate" along with the price of a new tire at $400 before labor. I drive a 2014 Honda Accord. These tires go for a max of $200 a piece. Not to mention that he insisted I pay cash. I knew he was a joke after hearing that, I negotiated down to $600 and promptly left. Don't recommend to anyone. Complete scammers and i plan on filing a police report.

At this location, there was female hispanic/black employer who's a smoker that works at the front desk is scamming for money. You're not allowed to even take your personal belongings that was inside your totaled vehicle until you pay off your liability first, which is around $400?! That logic is ridiculous. She even insults me by calling me a "fatass". In all seriousness, should I consider calling the police and report this very suspicious business practice behavior and unreasonable, customer service?! It is beyond common sense and the misconduct of customer service from this female cannot be forgiven. It feels predatory and they only prioritize on profit and money over concerns of their victim customers who ended up in their tow garage location.

DO NOT Ever do business with McGill's no matter how much…read moreyou need your car or truck fixed simply don't do business with McGill's. I will explain why this may be a lengthy review. My girlfriend and me took our 2010 Infiniti FX 35 to McGill's to have them look at it and potentially get the issue fixed. So the issue we were having with the car was the windows all of them would not roll down the sunroof would not open. The car would not lock with the key fob or with the button on the door. The key light was on the dash. The combination switch for the directional signal when you put the directional single to go on right the wipers would come on. The headlights would come on and the rear wiper would go on. When you put that same handle to make the left signal work that works as it should. The windshield wipers handle works as it should however, the rear wiper did not work. So we took it to them at McGill's. They come back stating that it needed a combination switch. So $710 later that's $$569 and change for the part( combination switch) plus the diagnostic fee. So we were told that the part would arrive in 3 to 5 days. It was not there in 3 to 5 days and we were being generous and giving it five business days. The part did not come in on time. Allegedly, they told my girlfriend the part was on backorder, which is a bunch of crap. So however, the one mechanic that they have there who is a very nice guy he got the car to lock with the key fob and the button on the door like it's supposed to he got all of the windows to roll down in the sunroof to open and close. However, when we did pick up the car, the windows would not roll down when the car was running. He said that the car had to be just in the run position for the winter to go down he showed us and the windows would go down, but not while the car was actually running as in the motor. So a few days later, I decided to go with a drive-through I was willing to shut the car off and just put it in the run position to get the windows to go down to go through the drive-through well subconsciously I didn't do that and I happen to roll down the driver side window and all the windows went down while the car was running strange huh. So when they finally got the part in the combination switch with, they say the car needed we brought it to them. We brought it to them on July 22, 2025 at 9 o'clock in the morning. We were literally the first ones there so they had the car all morning afternoon and evening and guess what the car is not fixed why? So the mechanic put the new combination switch in and guess what the car is still doing the same exact thing That it was doing before the new combination switch was put in. I made the mechanical aware that the body control module was making noise. When I filled out the paperwork, I clearly stated that I wanted them to look at the body control module to refresh it and or possibly replace it When I wrote that how do you get that? The car needs a combination switch just because the one part of the combination which is going haywire. Then the mechanic says that the old combination was wet, but it wasn't wet with water or anything sticky it just had a very thin layer of an oily substance so did the garage put the oily substance on the old combination switch to make it look like it actually needed the new combination switch? So again we went there right before they closed and we were physically there watching the mechanic try to do his thing with his snap on tool scanner, and guess what the new part was installed and the car was doing just like I said above the same exact thing that I was doing with the old switch. They overcharged by 300+ dollars for that combination switch when one could've been found online a lot cheaper a lot cheaper. So will the car be able to be working again like it's supposed to because the mechanic did say that he could not get into the car computer? Well, why is that again like I said like I wanted them to look at the body control module that's what I feel is the actual problem is the body control module and not the combination switch they basically took my girlfriend and I for a ride price gouge a part that could've been bought for $300 cheaper. Then the one employee named Nikki stated to my girlfriend and I that she wasn't gonna deal with us yelling over the phone at them first of all I was halfway across the room living room and I want to make sure that Nicole a.k.a. Nikki knew that I was talking and if she could hear me so we said good night and we went down there then we were confronted by somebody with a beard. who's on video who stated that I was yelling at him when I was not yelling at him. I was just talking very stern to him to try to get my point across but the one mechanic that was actually working on the car is a pretty decent person. I feel bad that he has to work with these people that work at McGill's. All Nikki had to do was go out to the garage part of the building and say hey you have a phone
