Obsessed doesn't even begin to cover it. Solidcore is my happy place, and my favorite instructors are Diana, Shaye and Kendra. And their playlists? Literal fire. If the music slaps, the workout is so much better. Every class leaves me sore in the best way, feeling like a total boss, and already plotting my next visit. I'm almost at 50 classes and it doesn't get easier. I'm always pushing myself to amplify, and let me tell you -- it makes it easier if you strength train, but it's still hard AF when you actually have to slow down and have mind muscle connection. Classes do fill up pretty quickly so you have to get it in there to schedule as soon as they open up. Try it for a great workout or an addition to your weekly rotation. This is my second time doing a solidcore workout and let me tell you...it is not easy!! I love trying out workouts, so I signed up with friends via Classpass. The class was at 8:15pm on a Friday; we did the Signature50: Full Body, which I believe was a more advanced class. Although it was a good workout, it was hard. The instructor was nice and guided people as needed. The music was great and on point, but we couldn't hear her over the loud music. Also, she had us move to the middle reformer machines, I would have felt more comfortable at the end. This is truly a great workout and targets muscles with smaller movements that compound workouts miss. Upon signing up for the class, an email and text message are sent with information, including the code to enter. They also mention that there are charges if canceling or no-showing. They have solidcore merchandise available for purchase with the card on file. They also provide items such as hair ties, bobby pins, hear buds (if the music is too loud), etc. The customer service is average, there was one person at the front and she wasn't very engaging. The business is located on the lower level of a larger building.There is free parking in front of and around the business. There is also a parking garage with some free parking (check the signs!). I just can't express enough how much I love Solidcore. It sure is hard but you see the outcome pretty fast. I saw on Google that twice a week for two weeks are enough to see the changes in your body, and it was totally right or maybe even earlier! I've tried Solidcore in other locations through Classpass and pick this one because it is the closest to my home. It's been almost 6-7th time going to this studio. Overall I figured if the coaches are head or senior coaches, they tend to go onto more challenging forms and correct your forms which makes you hate them so much when you are on the edge of life in the middle of workout but so appreciating after the workout. For all other coaches, I would say it is decent for beginners who hasn't done Pilates at all or just started to work out because forms are less challenging and pretty easy to follow, but yes - they don't really correct your forms. I would recommend beginners to drink water in between the workouts because when I first started, I was having trouble with nauseousness and had to run to bathroom after the leg workout due to dehydration. I had great experience so far, but I agree with some other reviewers that they need to work on ventilation. It is getting quite stuffy lately when I walk in as the weather is getting warmer, and because of the level of workout this can really make you nauseous in the middle of workout. read more

Outstanding customer service. I had an issue with my membership and it was corrected in three days!!! Amazing. The workout is the hardest. It's only 50 minutes of 100% of what you are capable of. Part of me doesn't want to share how amazing this community is because it's already hard to get into classes with some of my favorite coaches. But. I forced myself to try some of the newer coaches recently (due to job schedule challenges) and I really liked them so I figured it was time to actually share the love and let my fellow Yelpers know....if you are looking for a workout unlike anything else, [Solidcore] is for you. You will get stronger both physically and mentally. And if you embrace theme classes, specialty music, this is definitely the place for you! I go to Reston & Ashburn studios regularly & I can tell you - every class is different- every coach is different - every time you show up you get stronger. It's the best 50 minutes of my day. There are just a few things you need to know: - Go slow - Understand you wont get what's going on to start. That's okay. Listen to the coaches corrections. They are there to help you. - More about the coaches, they are there to cheer you on and encourage you. They are AMAZING. - You are supposed to fail. Classpass is wonderful because it allows a member to try a variety of fitness activities at different studios. Solidcore is pilates on steroids! Workouts are done on a megaformer (a reformer on steroids). You will test and challenge your mental and physical strength during class. You will leave sweaty. Slow, balanced, and controlled movements are essential to solidcore workouts. 1st class: Meredith - full body. I went straight after work, changed with plenty of time prior to the start of class. Meredith went through the megaformer: platform, carriage, resistance springs, weights. 1st class was with JLO tracks and I loved that Meredith wore metallic athletic gear to match the theme! By far, the hardest workout I have done. *Beginners classes are offered 3 times a week. 2nd class: Meredith - full body. 15 of 15 spots booked. 1 male student. Could I give ZERO I would. Never answer the phone , charged me for canceled classes even if I informed them I was sick and even if I prepared their unlimited package of 79 usd new client trial package already. I ended up being charged 179 usd for 3 classes. They are hunting for money and don't treat clients as human beings. You wait at the door if you get there early. Or they cancel you if you are 10 minutes late. Stay away from them! There are plenty of other places that make you actually feel like they care about you and make you and your money valued. read more

Solidcore is one of the besttt and most challenging full body workouts I've ever tried! I love that it's low impact (no jumping/running) but high intensity. My abs are burning a minute into class. And not only are your abs dying at the end - your glutes, thighs, arms, and back all get a crazy good workout. I just finished a 10-class pack here at the Reston location and was so excited to see that they participate in ClassPass. Meredith and Nicole are AMAZING coaches!! So positive and energetic - they really make me look forward to class and motivate me the entire time whilst kicking my butt. They're also just very sweet ladies who remember everyone's names and try to recognize each individual's strengths during those 50 minutes. This location is a little roomier than the one in Mosaic. The towels are already placed on your machines before class starts, but they'll gladly provide additional towels if you ask. Ample garage and lot parking. read more

This is not your mama's Pilates! I have been intimidated by [solidcore] for years and never went because their marketing photos showed young pretty things and I figured I wouldn't fit in. The new location is near my house so I gave it a try and I'm addicted! As a late 30s hardcore yoga nerd, I find this workout to be very interesting and satisfying. I am not into loud music and peppy instructors, but this is a really efficient and effective workout. The instructors are positive, patient, inclusive, well informed about anatomy and instruct in a way that will keep people safe from injury (if you listen). I've tried 4 different instructors so far and their skill level is very consistent. Very clean and new studio. Don't be intimidated and try it if you are curious. Epsom salt bath highly recommended after your first class. read more

Took an early morning class today with "coach Annie". This was my first class and it was awful. She is screaming in the mic that she is a stickler about form and yet never once did she assist anyone with their form. She just paced up and down the class counting down the reps. I know my form was wrong multiple times but she never corrected me. If you want pay $30 for class where you have to figure it yourself, go ahead otherwise go someplace place that values it's clients and their safety. read more

I love [solidcore]. This was my first foray into a class fitness setting and I am now all about it. I have had several instructors, but Meredith on Wednesdays is by far my favorite. I am so glad this studio opened up so close to the Reston Town Center. Don't be intimidated by the price or intensity, they usually have decent specials for new clients -- my first package was 2 classes for $24. After that there are lots of different options. I plan on getting a monthly accountability package to keep the shakes coming! :) read more

I was really excited that a new solidcore studio opened up in Reston as I work only 3 minutes away. However, my experience was less than satisfactory. Immediately when I walked into the studio, the studio felt like a sauna. I understand that when class starts, the studio warms up to help speed up muscle failure. However, there should be adequate air conditioning on a warm day in the waiting area at least. The temperature outdoors felt much cooler than the inside of the studio. Secondly, the towels are hidden at this studio! t all the other studios I've been to, towels are laid out in the front and we are allowed to take 2. I have noticed recently that solidcore have been extremely stingy with towels and there have been signage placed to indicate that only 1 should be taken. For the Reston studio, the instructor passed out ONE towel for each person. For the amount that we pay for a single class, I believe 2 towels are needed- one for the front & back of the machine. In fact, I saw several students run to the other side of the machine during class, to grab their towel which could have been avoided if 2 were given. In addition to that, I felt like the workout was just not as great. Krystal was my teacher and she talked extremely fast and unclear. In between transition, there were several instances where I looked up and all the students looked at each other in confusion b/c we had no idea what the next move was. I would rather drive out of my way to the Ashburn, Mosaic or Tysons Corner studio considering how expensive each class is. I expect the workout & studio should be up to par with the price. read more

Started coming to solidcore a little over a year ago and never looked back. The workout is intense and challenging every time, but the coaches are super encouraging. Takes a few classes to get in the swing of things so try it more than once. Def recommend! read more

I've taken 3 classes here so far and think it's a welcome addition to Reston. I love having a location so close to me. The classes are difficult but the instructors are high energy, motivating, and attentive (if they notice you struggling, they will help). I've been doing pilates in a smaller, boutique studio for two years and really loved it. I decided to check this place out because they accept Class Pass and have great reviews. This is definitely a hard-charging workout but it is NOT for people with no pilates experience. Because the classes are larger, there is no form correction or one-on-one attention. It would be very easy to sustain an injury. Once the class ramps up it is challenging until the end, which is another place where it would be easy to get an injury. 50 minutes of tough exercise means you are tired and less likely to be using good form by the end. The music is loud and the instructor yells into her mic, so if you're looking for mellow vibes, this ain't for you. It ends without a cool-down or stretch. Rough right til the end! (As an aside, the instructor does ask about injuries and there are spring adjustments depending on your experience/level.) read more

Absolutely love this place. I've been coming for a little over a year now and every time I take a class I feel re-energized and ready to kick butt. I love all the coaches that teach here and their theme and equality classes are so great. Everybody is so supportive and respectful, especially now during covid. Highly recommend trying a class even if you've never done regular pilates or don't workout regularly. I certainly didn't before coming here and I'm never looking back! read more

This workout is the most challenging, inspiring, and self motivating workout class I've ever taken! I was pleasantly surprised at how challenging this class was. I think it's a fantastic workout; much better than a barre class. However, I can't justify joining for the price. I'd rather spend $50 less per month to belong to Equinox and have showers, a variety of classes, and amenities. read more

I've been going to Solidcore for years, Mosaic, Tyson's, and Reston locations. Its a fabulous workout! One you simply cannot replicate in a regular gym. It is expensive, but I buy 10 packs and then look for other deals to keep it low per class. I am a fitness pro so I use the class to supplement other workouts, which is what I would recommend as the upper body work can be quite extreme and heavy if you follow their instruction, particularly if you have any type of chronic or overuse injuries. I really go there for the leg and core work which is phenomenal! I suffer through the 10 minutes of upper body so I don't disrupt the class by leaving early. Pre-COVID, I found the mandatory use of cubbies not secure since they were out of sight at Reston and Tyson's, so I am actually happier now that I can put my stuff inside the machine. Here's why it gets only 4 stars: the explicit, vulgar rap lyrics and the overuse of f-bombs by several instructors - it's just not necessary and is kind of unprofessional. I actually counted once and there were 6 f-bombs in the mere 10 minutes prior to class starting - I lost count after the workout started but there were many more. This is prevalent in more than one studio. I'd rather not hear rappers talk about "tappin that c@#!" and doing all kinds of other things to "b*&tches." I recently found an instructor at Reston who does neither so I will seek her classes out from now on. I had done the same in the other studios when I worked and lived near them. Not sure what value these two things have to an otherwise fabulous studio workout. read more
