The first time i was there my boyfriend and I ordered chicken yakidoba and beef teriyaki. Chicken and beef are phenomenal, so juicy and flavorful. The teriyaki comes with side of rice and a salad with amazing light mayo sesame flavor. We miss the food after our first visit and going back for more for the second time. Holding true to its namesake, this place is SOLID! I was pleasantly surprised to bump into an old friend who owns and operates the restaurant. Since moving back to WA, I've been looking for new restaurants to have on rotation. The food here is legit (I would highly recommend even if I didn't know Tom), decor is nice (although as of June 2023 it's take out only) and It's a family-run business (which I love to support). I rarely feel compelled to write reviews, but supporting Solid Modern Teriyaki feels as good as their food tastes! The tempura medley was a good combination (shrimp, carrot, broccoli, mushroom onion and potato) and the batter was light and fluffy with a great crunch to it. I upgraded to a Mac salad and it had flavor with a little spice. The restaurant is clean, especially the bathroom which I appreciate. I hate going to restaurants and the bathroom is dirty and serves as a storage unit as well. OMG. This is not just any "teriyaki" place!! I discovered it on Door Dash, and i hate to admit but I've ordered from this place twice over the past week :-D The Hold My Katsu sandwich is TO DIE FOR, seriously, it's a perfectly crispy HUGE piece of chicken in the softest heavenly roll, with house made pickles and katsu sauce, and slaw. The flavors mesh together so well, and they even give you an extra sauce on the side. The sandwich is so big I split in half, but my hubby eats the whole thing in one sitting because once you start you can't stop! Plus it comes with Mac salad that's no joke the best I've ever had! It's got the perfect amount of sauce that is peppery and a little garlicky with some slaw veggies mixed in. YUM. I also got the Shrimp Fried Rice this time for my daughter, it has good flavor with baby shrimp. I can't wait to try more items. They have great variety and I'm really impressed so far! Tried For the first time tonight. I got the Salmon Teriyaki with Mac salad and my wife got the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki. And we shared a side order of gyoza. I loved my salmon. It came with a side of asparagus that had been grilled (not mentioned on the menu but a great tasty surprise when I opened my to go container). The salmon and asparagus were both nicely seasoned and just delicious. The Mac salad was also great with sesame and spicy notes. My wife liked her spicy chicken teriyaki but didn't love it. The dish had more ginger than her preference. But she really like the flavor of the extra teriyaki sauce on the side which she mixed with her rice. The gyoza we shared were spot on. The staff was also really friendly. My order was suppose to go through DoorDash but they had some major issues tonight so the restaurant called to tell me my food was ready and I should just come pick it up if I could. Food was okay. I got the chicken katsu and spicy tuna roll. The katsu was very dry, a bit bland, and there wasn't enough sauce to make up for that lack of moisture/seasoning. The katsu breading was also soft and not crispy (I had sauce on the side). The spicy tuna roll was decent; I was kind of indifferent about it. The person who brought out the food we ordered to our car confused my boyfriend with another person, and told him "You wrote a bad review ". We tried to explain that we do not write reviews, but the guy insisted it was my boyfriend, because in the past he asked to have a table cleaned so he can eat there ( COVID-19 situation was starting but there was no restriction then). My boyfriend decided to leave and go eat somewhere else for that one time only . The issue of embarrasing us in front of others while waiting for thier food in the street , and in their cars, also totally ruined our afternoon. ! We were technically attacked when we never did anything. My boyfriend tried to explain , and told him he should be embarrassed of his actions toward his customers. These are hard times, there were only 3 working that day in the restaurant. Also, you see people , but you don't know people, or what they do for a living. We want a apology. We love Mill Creek Town Center and give you all a good deal of business. Work on customer relations, Know who you are talking to before talking with such a rude attitude towards your elders. Little pricey but they definitely give you better quality meat and portions than the other places in the area. I used to go to manna but they have cut quality and most of their dishes just don't feel like they are cooked very well. Solid is different tho, grill marks on the chicken and a great portion of side salad and rice, I ordered and had some left over for a second meal. The place is clean and the people are friendly. I was pleasantly surprised with the interior. It's really clean & neat. You order up front & then grab your table & they'll bring your food over to you. I ordered the ramen with a side of katsu & I found it to be mediocre for the price. I probably wouldn't order it again. My other half ordered the bento box and he really enjoyed it. My friends all know how obsessed with food I am. They also know that I am invariably lazy about writing reviews on Yelp (okay, just lazy in general), even though I probably have some of the strongest opinions ever. My point is - this review should NOT be taken lightly. SOLID is essentially the rebirth of the teriyaki restaurant that was here previously (Town Center Teriyaki). The owners have not changed, nor the staple teriyaki menu - but there are now some fresh new additions. The boyfriend and I came tonight and got takeout. He ordered the spicy pork bulgogi plate (also known as dae-ji bulgogi) and I got the chicken katsu sandwich. While we were waiting, we had a side of the mac salad. Now, you might be wondering... what's so special about mac salad? Well, THIS mac salad is SO GOOD. It's not like your typical grocery store / backyard bbq mac salad. It has a little mayo (not too much), scallions, and sesame oil. Very light but still tasty. It reminded me of my mom's cold summer noodles from growing up. The spicy pork bulgogi was very flavorful and comes with a side of salad and rice. My boyfriend's only comment was that he wished it was a bit spicier, but it's understandable that it's not going to be quite as spicy as from a traditional Korean restaurant where the audience is slightly different. The katsu sandwich (I'm not going to call it a burger) was delicious! It came with TWO pieces of chicken katsu, dressed with a light slaw and katsu sauce on the side. It also comes with its own side of mac salad. The only thing I would say is that it's probably better to get this dining in, because the slaw made the bottom bun a bit soggy during transportation. I think that it will be a lovely messy bite whether you dine in or take out though. :) Regardless, the katsu itself stayed crispy and didn't get soggy at all! I suppose I should comment briefly about the location / decor. It's extremely clean, well-lit, and isn't pretentious (stuffy) at all. Prices haven't changed. Located in the Mill Creek Town Center, it's in a location with plenty of parking. The owner is planning on expanding the menu as well, so we'll definitely be coming back to try more! read more

What can I say, great food, nice ambiance, good beer... can't go wrong with Solid MT if you are in the mood for some quality grub. Huge portions of their chicken katsu, my kids ask for at least once a week. Can easily feed two or three little ones (3-6 yo). The spicy ramen reminds of my time in Japan and their pork bulgogi sandwich is freaking amazing! I could eat here every day if I was forced to pick only one place to eat for the rest of my life. They will take care of you and won't steer you wrong on your pick. We do pick up usually, but more and more eat in to enjoy the fun, unique atmosphere you don't usually see in more traditional teriyaki joint. I can't recommend them more! read more
