These reviews seem to be a few years back. We have had our quartzite natural stone (not quartz which is basically reglued rock dust!) countertops for over a year (installed circa summer of 2023). Initially there was excitement. Quartzite is extremely dense and hard to work with, much more than mere granite. It takes many times longer to cut quartzite. The original cutting cracked on the machine. (We did get a lovely souvenir piece of it). To our surprise without asking, Solid Surfaces then cut the replacement in one big piece rather than two as usually done, which left no seams in the large L-shaped piece. It took a crew of five to haul in and place the main piece plus an island and two other pieces. Taj Mahal quartzite has an elegance that we admire every day. Best choice ever which we use everyday (although we do baby it to keep up the original appearance, cleaning up to not let anything stand on it for long). read more

We are very happy with the service, installation and repair work done by Premier. Our quartz countertop had some defects that we were dissatisfied with and Kevin Chmiel of Premier came to the rescue! horrible experience from the start...no one gets back to you. first countertop had chip unit...week later, a new countertop was cut...didn't fit, so caulk was used to cover the large amount of space that was left. looks like a child put it in. next, out of countertop we chose, picked out another..that on back order. nightmare..my master bathroom was out of use for four weeks, only shower worked in there. finally, found something they did have in stock. no one seems to put the customer first there...u are lucky if you get a call back from someone much less an apology read more

After living with my granite countertops for over a year, I'm still learning about it and discovering the imperfections. Although I consider the over service acceptable, I wish the installation crew would have been more diligent in the installation and more mindful of the job being done. By the time I noticed certain imperfections it was too late to do anything about them if indeed anything could have been done. Two most noticeable was chips in out of the way areas, but noticed eventually. I just wish workers would take more care in their jobs. Maybe they thought it would not be noticed, but that's not what I'm looking for in the people that come into my home. I'm looking for perfection. read more

Against my better judgement, knowing if a deal seems too good to be true...., I ordered quartz countertops from Home Depot (HD). They told me the fabricator and installer was Solid Surfaces. The first few steps went smooth. 1. Based on the layout I provided, received estimate from HD. 2. Reluctantly, I paid in full upfront even though install would not be for a couple months. 2. Scheduled measurement and install date with Solid Surfaces. Measure went perfectly and install was to be 45 days later. This is where things took a turn for the worse. 4. One week prior to install I was emailed the final estimate and was told I needed to confirm by the end of day. I felt pressured because they had three weeks to send and now want immediate turnaround. Further, at this late stage, it would be hard to start over. I immediately reviewed the order and found two issues. a.)The price had increased because one slab was over 20 sf. The slab size was known at the time of 1st quote so why it shows up as an extra one week prior to install is a mystery to me. b.) I knew there would be a seam on one side of the sink, but the plan showed an unnecessary one on the other side. When asked why, I was told because of how the slab is cut. I have renovated many homes, and have ordered many counters and have never encountered this. Because the sales rep could not give me a reasonable explanation, I offered to come to the shop and lay it out with her. I showed her on the slab how it could be cut to avoid the seam and she said there would be waste.( btw I have since consulted with two other local reputable counter fabricators, and they have confirmed my belief that this is simply not true.) So, I said if I am paying for the waste, then I want it delivered to me with the install. She said I could not have it. By my estimate, the alleged "waste" would add another 20% to the project. At this point, I was visibly upset. I know when to cut my losses, and said I wanted my money back. They agreed but were unwilling to show me a receipt that the full price I paid would be refunded. So, now, I have no counters or proof of refund. They pawned the situation off to HD and I was asked to leave. So, I called HD. They said they would refund all but $200 for the measurements. After much pushing, they finally returned all. I have only written one other review in my life , for good service. This experience was SO bad, with the last minute charges and no educated explanations, and the bouncing me back and forth from HD to Solid Surfaces, that I was compelled to warn others. Dealing with Premier Surfaces has been an absolute nightmare! We paid for our counters in full six weeks ago and we still don't have our island installed. They have become non-responsive and will not tell us when we can expect to have the job completed. We have tried calling several times but "no one is available" to take our call and we never get a call back. We are about to ask for our money back so we can go to another business to have our island counter made. HOWEVER NO ONE WILL PICK UP THE PHONE. I guess we have no choice but to go to the showroom floor to get this resolved. read more

My wife and I stopped into Premier Surfaces in Henrietta last Friday, to get some ideas for our home kitchen remodeling project. Ellie Smuk introduced herself to us, and said that she would be pleased to work with us. After asking many questions, and spending about 45 minutes looking at different showroom samples of Cambria quartz countertops and undermount sinks, we made our selections. I also provided Ellie with all of our current countertop dimensions, and even builder room prints of which she made copies. We also decided to borrow two small Cambria countertop samples to see how each would look in our kitchen. Ellie told us that she would call us the following Monday with a job price quote, based on the counter dimensions which we had given her, and the products which we had chosen. Well Monday came and went with no call from Ellie. It is now after 5pm on Friday, and still we have not received any call from Ellie or anyone else at Premier Surfaces. It must be nice to have so much business that you can treat your customers with such disregard, and without even so much as a call back. Glad we didn't put our trust in them on a 10K+ job if this is representative of their work ethics. Premier surfaces has many quality products for sale, but their lack of follow through, and concern for customer satisfaction by their sales representatives makes it impossible to recommend them. There are a couple of much better choices just a little further down the road. read more

We ordered our new White Ice granite counter top through home depot. We found out solid surfaces supplies them with all their granite for this area. We called them to make an appointment to come look at the slabs to make sure we liked it. I forget her name but she was very friendly and showed us slabs and answered any questions we had. She also showed us a sink that was similar to ours in their showroom. Then about 2 weeks later they came and installed the counters. My wife said the men were very polite and friendly. They did a great job so after 3-4 weeks I am very happy with our counters we have had no problems and they give a year warranty on the install. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

I have used them twice (unfortunately), problems both times. First time, they failed to bring the right size backsplash and had to come back a week later. Second time, they showed up with no sinks even though their rep took the sinks with him when he measured. It takes them two weeks after measurement to install, so I am without any bathroom vanity tops/sinks for two weeks. When they did show up, not only did they have no sinks, but they cut one vanity top completely wrong/backwards, and the second one they for some reason cut/curved away from the wall by 1/4" in the last 3" against the wall so that there is a large gap on the end. They agreed to replace the first vanity top, but for some reason seem to be claiming that having a large gap away from the wall is their standard practice on the second one. Worse yet, rather than correcting their mistake promptly they now want another 2 weeks to fix their problem - so I am without any bathroom tops or sinks in my house for five weeks. They don't seem to accept responsibility for anything, horrible customer service, and they all want to blame some other employee at their company rather than take corporate responsibility as a team. Would never recommend them to anyone. They are extremely expensive for granite, they don't do good work, and their processes are so broken that they cannot do anything in one trip (which is why they are so expensive. Avoid them if you can. PS. - update, after waiting 2 weeks for them to replace the master bathroom vanity top, which they cut incorrectly, they brought me the most drab, boring, lackluster portion of the slab they could find. They couldn't care less about their mistake. And to make matters worse they installed it extremely badly; they use a strapping and gluing system that they strapped from front to back so when they tighten it up there is a 1/8" overhang in the front and 5/8" overhang in the back, obviously not centered. Again they couldn't care less. And finally please note, that when this company gets a very bad Google review they provide a stock auto-reply to every single customer, but when they get a good review they provide a personal note to those customers. Clearly they don't care about their mistakes. Again, a very, very poor company to work with. PPS - I just figured out that the problem with the sink being un-centered is not due to the straps, but is actually because they cut the sink opening in the wrong place and they cannot center it because the front of the sink hits the front of the cabinet. They could have solved that by cutting the sink hole 1/4"-3/8" deeper in the back, or by pushing the entire sink hole back by 1/4", so they had two chances to get this right and blew them both. Imagine that, a granite company that cannot accurately cut granite. read more

We were referred to Premier by McKenna's Kitchen and Bath's. After reading some of the reviews we had concerns. With Covid-19 our granite install was delayed nearly 2 months. As soon as I was able to contact Premier on May 15th, I left them a message and they immediately called back. Everything from that point, went exactly how we hoped it would. From scheduling the slab viewing, to the installation. Mike and his partner were great, it's obvious they are experienced and responsible. We LOVE our granite surfaces! Premier Surfaces We spent over 3 months and thousands of dollars and our countertop is not what we wanted, ordered or paid for. Premier Surfaces came to our home and installed a countertop on THREE separate occasions and we are left with what we didn't want. Mistakes, horrible customer service and the inability to keep appointments should keep everyone away! Our original instillation was in July. As soon as I saw it I knew it wasn't what we ordered. They had cut the sink opening wrong. We reached out to our sales rep and she confirmed yes, they cut it incorrectly. I wish I could say they handled things quickly and efficiently but they didn't. I asked for a significant refund and they refused and offered a laughable number. They wanted to"make us happy" and install again. It had taken us many months and many trips to different wear-houses to pick out the stone we wanted. We reluctantly agreed to give them another chance. It took many phone calls just to schedule a new install. We took time off from work to be home for the install and the day before the appointment they called to say they wouldn't be there as scheduled. They then missed the second appointment as well. When they actually showed up for the second install the new sink cut was better, and the seam looked good. We did noticed some damage to our new walls and cabinets. We were willing to over look the damage and move on just to get our kitchen renovation complete. We had been waiting on the countertop for 2 months. Then we noticed the second countertop was cracked all the way through. That must have happened when they drilled for the faucet. Now begins another series of horrible communication with the office, and missed appointments. A manager finally came to our home and agrees to replace the stone to "make us happy". This of course takes us into month 3 and 4 of our countertop install. For the 3 install we were available on a Saturday so that we didn't lose any more time off from work. The week of our install they called to say that would come on Thursday instead of Saturday. That wasn't our appointment! We specifically scheduled Saturday! We were told that the crew was working many days in a row and needed time off. Really! We refused the Thursday appointment and were told they would look into it and get back to us. They did keep our 8am Saturday appointment, but showed up at 7am instead. We briefed the install team as to why they were there for the third time. They also mentioned how many issues they had to deal with, with other homeowners. Two hours into the install they called us in to look at the piece. They noticed that it was cut wrong! AGAIN! We had to decide what direction to go. If they didn't install we would be into 5 months of dealing with this company and they would have to come out AGAIN and rip up our NEW kitchen. We were done with Premier Surfaces and didn't want them in our home again! We had them install the countertop which was the same cut as the first one. We did talk with the managers on the next business day. Of course we had to call them. They refused to give us our money back or even a half of it. They did say they "wanted to make us happy" and come out to install a 4th time. NO WAY! They did give us a small refund. We took it because we no longer had the time or energy to deal with this company. We had to walk away with the second biggest expense in our kitchen not what we wanted or paid for. read more

Walked around the showroom....a few people in and out with customers. After a long 15 minutes I gave up and walked out. Perhaps I needed an appointment....perhaps they were short staffed. read more

We have redone our kitchen and master bath in Cambria quartz, a beautiful material that requires little upkeep (no sealing). We recommend working with Mary Lou to make arrangements; she is professional and very helpful. The installation was done on time and seamlessly (in every sense of the word). I haven't even received my product (Quartz countertops) yet and I can not believe the horrible business practice. I planned, designed, and paid for my project months ago. It took weeks after my cabinets were installed for the person from Premier to come out and measure. We then received a date for install that was reasonable, if not ideal. Close to the date, we were given another date 3 weeks away! On that date (my birthday) I stayed home all day waiting for installers that never came! After calling my contractor, I received a call from someone at Premier claiming that they did not know why no one showed up. Upon this persons investigating it is believed that a piece cracked and they would have to redo it so my install was pushed another week. I explained that my kitchen has been complete except for countertops and sink for weeks and that I have guests coming from out of state to visit and I have no working kitchen! The person stated that they were trying to get someone to come and at least install the sink and some makeshift counter for me, which I grudgingly agreed to. Then SILENCE. Have not heard anything! This business practice is unacceptable! I will update when I have something else happen! read more

I like the product very much because they have a grey/white (Fog) that matches my kitchen. My cabinets are over 30 years old and look great but they are not level. The installers did everything they could to make it look right. I finally had to fill in the gap with an angled piece of wood. It is important to bring a piece of the product into your house to really determine the color because lighting is different in every room. read more

Dealing with Premier has left me annoyed and angry! The counter top are finally done, after 31/2 months, and three counter tops later. You can get NO satisfaction from informing even the President of the company how dissatisfied the entire process was. The order was through Home Depot! Never use this combination of vendors! We have paid thousands of dollars and then some to finally have a one piece Quartz top that was NEVER offered to us until we made adjustments to accomodate that look. I truly feel a rebate was in order, one was never offered. Instead another $1000.00 was paid BY US !!! as a token adjustment for a one piece Quartz counter.So much went on from a miscut to improper installation of sink to rude work men, broken sink on last try, missed scheduled appointments, and young men with no customer service savvy! Maybe they should be reading some of their reviews !!! There is so much more to this saga, with regard to time I will warn possible buyers.......BEWARE !!! read more

We went through Solid Surfaces to eliminate another party (Home Depot) being involved. Solid Surfaces was quick to schedule our measure and within 8 calendar days they were scheduled to install the Quartz countertop we loved! Before the measure, they required we put down half of the payment, then put the other half down before the install. We didn't have any problem with that if it's their policy. When the installers came, 3 pieces had to be taken back because the measure was inaccurate or a sloppy cut. The Solid Surface manager would not give us a turnaround time for the new pieces to be installed. They stated they would call us and we had to call them multiple times. With this occurring, we had to cancel the plumper- causing the kitchen remodel to be pushed back. This is unacceptable customer service. I feel that since they have their money, they are not rectifying their mistake (monetarily or expediting service) or taking accountability. I would not recommend them regardless of how price efficient they are. Customer service and doing what is right goes further than anything else to me. read more

We read all the reviews before going with this company. It got such good reviews for professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We brought detailed drawings to the showroom and received a quote for granite kitchen countertop that we had picked out. After Solid Surface came out to review the site, the price increased 23%. Seriously, it is not a large kitchen. We loved what we picked out so we negotiated a 12% increase. The installers were great. The installers sealed the countertops before they left. Afterward we noticed a crack in the granite. We had Solid Surface come out and inspect it again. They said it was a "fissure". But it was raised and you could feel it when you ran your nail over the top. They came out and put an epoxy over the spot and sealed the granite again. Since they ask for their $ up front before installation we felt there was little recourse. I would not recommend this company for granite countertop. read more
