I hired Paul to put up a new patio redwood cover from my house.He and his crew did a excellent job .Lot of time it hard to find someone that even want to do a simple small job.But not Paul he do any jobs bigs or small. Excellent reviews gave me confidence to press the "Request a Quote" button on Yelp. Paul responded to my request promptly, unlike other contractors. I invited him to see the projects I had in mind. He came out to see and discuss them and provided estimated costs in writing efficiently. My wife and I reviewed the plans and hired Solid Construction to do all four of our projects (three involving carpentry and one involving replacement of some concrete sections with decorative polished rocks in our driveway). We are very happy with the work done at reasonable prices too. We found Paul (and his crew) easy to work with, trustworthy, and a delight to be here. Update 10-5-19: Paul continues to do excellent work. We asked him to complete some dry rot and rain gutter repairs on a house we have for sale that is currently in escrow. He got the work done quickly and did a fantastic job on it. The pest company re-inspected the repaired areas and it passed with flying colors. Definitely recommend! read more

Highly recommend. Found Paul on Yelp. Right away he was different in that he always responded right away to texts, emails or calls as we agreed on what needed to be done to update a bathroom and we coordinated our schedules. This responsiveness and dependability carried through to completion of the project. Paul is very skilled. We kept finding more things that we wanted done and Paul, sometimes along with an assistant, Scott, was always able to handle it, including inspecting and making some repairs to our roof. They painted the bathroom, replaced vanity, lighting, faucets etc. Even deep cleaned old tile grout on floor and shower tiles. He charges by the task, but is reasonable and thorough. Also, they cleaned up as they went and were considerate. Based out of Paso and we live in Pismo, but still 100% reliable. Did a great job; we're very happy. read more

We had three projects done at the same time. One was redoing the tile in the shower. The tiles were not laid flat and even with each other, the grout lines were not smooth, the tile next to the window, on a shelf and on the built-in seat are all sloped the wrong way, the water puddles in the corner instead of draining back to the shower. Excess grout was left over all the tile surfaces requiring hours of cleanup. He left without reinstalling the shower door and has now said I should hire someone else to finish the job. He also painted the inside of the house. The cleaning prior to painting was poorly done, the masking didn't stick resulting in many areas of overspray and all trim was painted the same as the walls instead of a semi-gloss as is normal. read more
