This time around, they painted both of my daughters' bedrooms, our downstairs half bath, the trim, doors, ceilings, and even our front door. I came to them with inspiration photos and a vision, but what they created was even better than I imagined. We had builder-grade paint colors in some rooms and mismatched colors from previous owners in others, and they transformed every space. The half bath is probably my favorite project. I had always wanted wainscoting in that space, even though it wasn't there originally. Miguel walked me through different options, offered suggestions, and ultimately brought my vision to life in a way that exceeded my expectations. If you're struggling to pick colors, Eva is wonderful at helping with that too. She has a great eye and was incredibly helpful throughout the process. What stands out most to me, though, is the pride Miguel takes in his work. Every day he made sure the workspace was spotless before leaving. In fact, we had a tile installer working in the bathroom as part of the renovation, and before I even realized how much of a mess had been left behind, Miguel had already cleaned it up. That's just the kind of person he is. He treats your home with the same care and respect that he would his own. Finding people you trust to work in your home is not easy, but we trust Miguel, Eva, and their team completely. They are talented, professional, and genuinely wonderful people. Long version: Scenario - It's a freezing (sub 40 degree) day in North Texas and I'm out of town on a business trip with my wife, son and mother-in-law at our home in Flower Mound. Wife calls and says the heater is not kicking on. She calls an HVAC company who comes by checks the heater in the attic and says, the unit is working however there is a pipe that vents through the roof of the attic that seems clogged or bent, but they don't do those type of repairs and she would need to call a roof company. Frantically, I scour Yelp for a good review and find people glowing about Bret's service and I give him a call. It's late in the day on Friday and when I explain the scenario, he immediately sprung into action and helped us resolve the issue. I'm going to highlight multiple reasons why Bret, owner of Texas Pride Roofing and Fencing will always have my business for roof and fence needs for as long as I live in the DFW metroplex. 1. Promptness - When I called Bret although it was later in the day, he was willing to head to our home and check out the situation, getting to our home in a couple of hours due to the severity of the situation. 2. Honesty - He took photos of the situation and gave a fair assessment of the situation. In this instance he said, "I don't have all of the parts that I need now but I can get you up an running for today, and then come back next week after I'm able to get the parts when I can get to a supply shop" 3. Thorough - He was on the roof, in the attic, and investigating the situation from every angle. Shared photos of his assessment, and was descriptive about what he was doing. 4. Genuine - The first time he came to the house, he hopped on FaceTime to talk to me and make me feel at ease with him at the house with my wife and family. You can look at someone's eyes and know that they are being sincere, that is this guy 100% 5. Follow up - It took him coming to the house a few times to get the situation completed, and I had to ask him for an amount that I owed him. He wanted to make sure that I was satisfied before asking for money. A true stand up guy, good business man, and yes, the roof is fixed, the exhaust pipe repaired, and the heat is working. The oil based semi-transparent stain was professionally applied with appropriate precautions taken to prevent overspray. He applied two light coats to the fence instead of one heavy coat to prevent the possibility of bleed through onto our neighbor's side of the shared fence. Our garage doors absorbed the stain at a higher rate than expected because they were so dry. The next day it was apparent that the 3 full sprays of the doors he had done were not adequate to provide the right coverage. Dave came back a few days later at no charge and sprayed 3 more coats until the doors looked great. Bottom line - this is a great company, highly professional and competitively priced.
