We hired PaintMor to paint our living room, entry, dining room, kitchen and breakfast nook. The living room had stain grade picture frame paneling which had a dark varnished finish and we wanted to brighten up the room. The entry had old grass paper wallpaper that we wanted removed and textured. And there were other areas we wanted to update as well I searched Yelp and found PaintMor which had mostly, if not all, 5 star reviews so I called and set up to get an estimate. The owner Tim showed up right on time, and listened to us tell him everything we were thinking about doing throughout the house, even knowing we weren't sure how much we actually wanted to do right away. He took excellent notes, and provided us with a detailed quote that itemized the price for each option that we were considering. His proposal made it very easy for us to consider each option and decide exactly what we wanted to do right away. We ended up having them do the rooms mentioned above, but definitely plan on having them come back and complete the rest of the list in the near future. Tim, Evaristo the crew foreman, and his two man crew showed up right on time as scheduled and we walked through all items to be done. The first thing that impressed me with their work was the excellent care they took in taping and covering the floors, windows, ceiling fans (including removing the fan blades) and fire place, as well as putting up plastic barriers in the doors to the living room before priming and then painting the paneling. The painting of the stained paneling turned out great. We had several wiring holes and an old electric box that needed repairing before painting. They did a fantastic job of patching them to where we can't see where they were before. They also took down the grass paper in the entry, sanded down the old texture in the dining room, and textured both with orange peel texturing to match the kitchen and breakfast nook. They had a well thought out plan on getting all areas finished efficiently. Everything happened a it should at the proper time in the job. They were always on time arriving each morning, and cleaned up and left at the appropriate time each evening. The day after they finished, Evaristo and his crew came back to do a walk through and take care of anything we found that wasn't quite to our satisfaction. We contracted with PaintMor to do a whole house repaint based on the strength of their reviews from customers. It was a very wise decision. Our home was built in 1992 and is two stories, 3300 sq ft, kitchen, breakfast area, large foyer, first floor and second floor family rooms. In addition, there are dining and living rooms plus 4 bedrooms, and 3 full baths. The dining room has a cathedral ceiling and the foyer is open to the second story ceiling. The existing paint scheme was just not to our taste so we used the color scheme from New Orleans as a guide. Every area was painted; ceilings, walls, and all doors and interior trim including a lot of crown molding in the major rooms. As the bathroom vanities were new, and in a color which meshed with our colors, the vanities were not painted. Needless to say, this type of project required prep by us such as emptying all the kitchen cabinets, the dining room China, and all photos from walls. Free standing book cases had to be emptied so the walls and trim could be painted. Big projects impact your life. The three man crew has been with PaintMor for years and the crew leader 17 years. They worked 10 hour days and took off only Sunday. The job took 9 full days to complete. We had the kitchen cabinets painted as while they had been replaced by the previous owner in the last three years, the color just did not work. PaintMor removed all the hardware, doors, and drawers for spray painting. In preparation, all the flooring was covered with protective paper, the counter tops, windows (with their new plantation shutters) were covered with protective plastic sheets. The kitchen and breakfast area were isolated from the rest of the house by a plastic film cocoon. I moved one of my cars out of the garage to allow them to create a paint booth for spray painting all the interior doors. Just like the kitchen, the rest of the garage was protected with plastic. No overspray anywhere! The stair way and upper banisters included over 100 spindles which had to be masked and painted. The spindles had natural wood flooring beneath and wood railing above. Lot of time spent meticulously masking that area. Three guys working a full day just on this area. In the end, our home has been transformed into our vision of how it should be. This is the third time we used PaintMor for a project. I am always careful hiring contractors because my experience is that most contractors, or their crews, are always compromising quality for one reason or another. Untrained crews, taking shortcuts, not caring, sloppy, etc. PaintMor is different. Tim, the owner, was great to work with all 3 times. Earlier this year we had a frozen pipe burst that ruined the Sheetrock in half of my 2 car garage. His crew replaced Sheetrock, spackled, painted and completely repaired the damage. The end result was perfect. His crew was careful, professional, and left no mess or damage when the job was done. We just had our kitchen cabinets painted. I was hesitant about painting my cabinets because I had seen other professionals work painting cabinets and although the jobs I saw were good, i never thought it looked like when a quality cabinet comes out of a factory. I didn't want just good. The crew lead was great. He addressed all of my concerns. We have a large kitchen with over 40 cabinets and drawers. and also painted the cabinets in our butler passway and laundry room. The crew isolated the area creating a painting booth out of that section of the house. Every appliance, window, or anything that could not be removed was protected. The rest of my house was unaffected by any sanding dust or stray spray. Tim has an Interior designer, Jen, that helped us choose appropriate colors and helped us with finding new hardware. The color consultation was free. We also refinished our wooden front door and it looks beautiful. The bottom line is the job was completed in 4 days and after giving a very thorough examination I could find nothing that wasn't done perfectly. Yes, I said perfectly and that is not a word that I often use related to a contractors work. The finish on the cabinets looked like they just came from a quality factory. Did I mention that his fees were very reasonable and competitive, and probably less than what other less capable contractors quote.? Paintmor indeed painted more than I expected. I have done remodeling in the past and there are basically 2 types of contractors you run into. There is the one that overpromise and underdeliver and there is the one that is upfront and overdeliver. Tim and his crew is definitely the later. He meticulously wrote down what we asked for and put together a detailed quote so there is no miscommunications later on and expectation is aligned up front. His crew is very experienced and detailed oriented. First, they do the proper preparation to protect any furniture. When they paint, it is not just masking tape and paint over the edge, they take the screws out from vent, patch any holes and imperfections, texturing etc. If there is any issues, they communicate with you and make sure there is alignment. They also perform basic cleanup after the job so not leaving a big mess. I have nothing but respect for Tim and his professional crew. In summary, they are not the cheapest and if your expectation is to get the lowest price possible then look elsewhere. Tim was friendly and very helpful, and we got an estimate scheduled that same week. Tim arrived right on schedule and walked the whole house listening as I explained the various projects we needed taken care of (drywall repair, wallpaper removal, texturizing, painting, kitchen area, a bathroom and office area). He took measurements, asked questions and was very thorough. As he left he said he'd have an estimate to me the next day. And he did!! The estimate I received was straight forward, easy to understand, and offered so many other details that none of the other companies had offered. The estimate cost was competative and fair too. The services and features he offered went far beyond the other company I competitively bid. PaintMor offers the highest quality Sherwin Williams paint, offers design services as part of the job through a third party at no extra cost. The design services alone set PaintMor apart in that we changed our color scheme somewhat based on the recommendations by the designer so it matched better with the color of the wood flooring and the carpet. The job overall consisted of the interior first floor including the foyer, dining room, kitchen, living room, master bedroom, master bath, 2 small halls, guest bath and laundry room which included bare cabinets; and finally the application of a polymer on the front door. Upon job start, the PaintMor team arrived on time and was very quick and thorough, while also being very careful in the preparation. The job foreman was easy to work with when there were questions and Tim checked on status as well. We painted almost our entire downstairs and the total job time took just about three days and the team worked full days giving 100% to the job. Upon completion they put most everything back, I was also pleased with the fact that we have three heavy mirrors in our dining room and they placed those back as well without our asking. The day after we noticed a wall plate missing and a place to touch up, I called Tim and he brought the crew out the next day. Additionally, we had a fan installed after the job having removed a ceiling light fixture that was bigger than the fan base. Had our floor wrecked in the freeze. After we got the floor repaired we had 2000+ foot of complex trim. They came in and re-prepped and painted all in one day with multiple paint matches. But the mark of true professional team is before we were done we did a walk around and anything that wasn't right was redone. One area three times before it was clean and looked good.
