TerraFirma - Foundation repair in Portland, Oregon with EverBrace before and after photos.

Very pleased with the work, from the beginning sales person visit to the ending follow-up chats, on…read morethe phone, about the work performed. We had a foundation in a corner of the house where the soil under the footing was washed out. The length was about 12 feet with a 4 inch gap between footing and ground. We called TerraFirma! Very soon we were meeting with our sales person after he inspected the outside of the home, the crawl space and measured elevations within the house. There was 1/2 inch drop in elevation where a crack was in the middle of the unsupported foundation wall. Plenty of photos were shown to us about the condition of the crawl space. We made a decision to support the crawlspace with a helical screws option. 4 piers would be needed to hold up the problem area. This was a guaranteed option where the other was to inject the polyLevel material. This later option might do the job just fine. But, could also allow sag, again, at a later time. We wanted the repair done once and for all time. Also, the inspection found two posts failing to support the floor beams. We would have those replaced, along with a sump pump installed, in the crawl space. We signed the contract and were placed in the work schedule which was a couple of months out. We were asked if we would like to be moved up in the schedule if there was an earlier opening made available due to cancelation or whatever. We said yes to that and as a result the work was able to be completed a month earlier than we expected. Great! The crew arrived, on time, and got right down to it, literally. All engineering, permits, inspections by third party engineer and county officials was taken care of without a hitch. 4 piers were in place in 1 day. The 1/2 inch drop was corrected by the helical screw piers. When we had questions about the work, our crew foreman guided us through the project process so we received good answers from him. Very satisfied! I rarely use this word but I gotta' say it was "Awesome" to watch the technical crew install those piers. Quite the combination of difficult, strenuous labor and technical expertise using high quality gear and materials. Thanks, again, for the good work!

This business did not explain to us what the situation would be after the foundation work was done…read more--- a gigantic mess. It will cost us at least an additional $2,000 to bring the house back to its normal appearance. The salesman never mentioned this.

Moving to Oregon after living in the desert Southwest brought issues I never realized were…read moresomething that was normal up here. We had a house inspected and he found there was some water in the crawl space. This freaked me out a bit but there was no other damage and they reassured me this was normal for this area where the water table was close to the surface. This was a condition to purchase the home so the previous owner called in Terra Firma to have the issue handled. Patrick came out and did a thorough inspection of his own. He said it would be good to have a system to route the water to a location and pump it out. The previous owner had the work done and we came to see what was being done. James, Josh and one other worker (that I missed his name) came out the day the work was being done. They came on time and were professional. They dug a drainage area around the outside of the crawl space, filled it with a trailer full of stone and installed two high-powered pumps to move the water out of the crawl space. We had the drain cover pop off after they were finished but they came back out and fixed it right away. The only slight negative is the vent they had the pipes come out from under the crawl space was left without coverage so any creature could get down there. We fixed it but it seems to me that they could have made the pipes go through the wire venting so it's protected-but maybe not. Terra Firma is definitely the company to chose when having this work completed. They keep you up on the problem, create a timeline to fix it and have professional staff on hand to get the job done right. They also send photos when the job is done. I would call them again if there is ever an issue. #ThankYouThursday

Pretty disappointed. We contacted them about needing an engineer to come look at a crack in the…read morefoundation to confirm if it came from a tree root and would need it in writing. They told us they would be happy to and would also give us a bid. Cool. We would have been happy to pay and they said no need. It was a complete WASTE of time. They came out, spent a little over two hours in the crawl space. We got an email saying they can't tell if a tree root cracked it or not but the foundation is lifted and here is $20k bid. Even though he told my significant other he couldn't even begin to give a bid as pulling the tree root out would cause more damage so there was no way to know. Totally came off as a used car sales man pitch. This is why we wanted to pay. Won't use their business for the repair and would never refer a friend or family member to this company. Update to owners response: -You did not send an engineer as promised when making the appointment. -a bid was not provided for the area we requested. The bid was on the rest of the foundation. -you failed to deliver what was promised as confirmed by your manager when he pulled the call from our initial conversation.

Leaf Filter - Failed leaf filter

Leaf Filter

Our gutters had fallen due to freezing rain and snow, accumulated debris, including pine needles…read moreleafs and age. They did not drain properly at all. I called Leaf Filter and Larry came out and gave us a very reasonable bid to clean out our rain gutters, level them and be sure they flowed properly, and instal their own debris covers to keep them from clogging up again. The job is guaranteed to remain debris-free, to flow properly, and to never be a problem again. Our home is three stories with a Chinese slate roof and copper gutters, in the mountain community of Lake Arrowhead, near Los Angeles. Our job took an extra day to complete due to custom features and a slate roof. Leaf Filter kept me informed of the progress and schedule, and the whole job took only two days to complete. Jose and his helpers were extremely polite and knowledgeable, and respectful of our property. We recommend Leaf Filter for repair of existing gutters as well as installation of new. The price quoted was so reasonable I didn't even get a second bid. And when they had to make a second trip to finish our job, there was hesitation and no increase in the price.

Leaf Filter is a SCAM!!! They carefully pick their words in their ads to dupe you into thinking…read morethat, once installed, you will never again have to climb a ladder or do anything to your gutters. That couldn't be further from the truth! WHAT THEY CLAIM: "Keep your gutters clear year around", "Clog Free Gutters" & "You'll Never Have to Climb a Ladder Again to Remove Leaves from Your Gutter" WHAT THEY MEAN: The screen covering they add to the top of your gutters will stop debris from getting INSIDE your gutter. Key word being INSIDE. WHAT THAT *REALLY* MEANS: Countless times a year, the screen Leaf Filter places on top of your existing rain gutter will get covered with leaves and other debris, causing the rainwater to roll over the top of the leaves/debris and right down on to the ground, like a waterfall!!! (I am including photos of how little debris it takes to make the rain gutters overflow with Leaf Filter. What you see in the photos is what I have to deal with after every windy day, at each of the roof's Valley Flashing, or face waterfalls the next time it rains. (This is in addition to the numerous uncloggings necessary in the fall, when leaves are dropping) So much for never having to climb on my ladder anymore, huh Leaf Filter?!? I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with Leaf Filter!!! Previously, I had those "gutter brushes" in my rain gutters. They worked far better than Leaf Filter. I foolishly switched because my rain gutters needed some leveling work, etc. and I thought that installing Leaf Filter would address that and my leaves/debris that clog my gutters. DISCLAIMER: I do NOT work for any of the "gutter brush" companies, I never have, and I have not/am not receiving any compensation or product for recommending them instead of Leaf Filter. I also will not recommend any particular brand of gutter brushes. I will only recommend that you research "stainless steel gutter brush" and go from there. They actually do block the debris from getting into the rain gutter and, UNLIKE Leaf Filter, will make it so you no longer have to climb a ladder to deal with the leaves. The leaves will stop behind the top of the brush, on the roof side, and you can use a Leaf Rake (from the ground) to pull the leaves over the brush onto the ground when they build up. Gutter Brushes also cost FAR LESS than Leaf Filter. Getting back to Leaf Filter, IN MY OPINION, they are VERY overpriced, the salesmen use high pressure tactics, their customer service sucks, and the product just is on the verge of TERRIBLE!!!
