Leaf Filter is a SCAM!!! They carefully pick their words in their ads to dupe you into thinking that, once installed, you will never again have to climb a ladder or do anything to your gutters. That couldn't be further from the truth! WHAT THEY CLAIM: "Keep your gutters clear year around", "Clog Free Gutters" & "You'll Never Have to Climb a Ladder Again to Remove Leaves from Your Gutter" WHAT THEY MEAN: The screen covering they add to the top of your gutters will stop debris from getting INSIDE your gutter. Key word being INSIDE. WHAT THAT *REALLY* MEANS: Countless times a year, the screen Leaf Filter places on top of your existing rain gutter will get covered with leaves and other debris, causing the rainwater to roll over the top of the leaves/debris and right down on to the ground, like a waterfall!!! (I am including photos of how little debris it takes to make the rain gutters overflow with Leaf Filter. What you see in the photos is what I have to deal with after every windy day, at each of the roof's Valley Flashing, or face waterfalls the next time it rains. (This is in addition to the numerous uncloggings necessary in the fall, when leaves are dropping) So much for never having to climb on my ladder anymore, huh Leaf Filter?!? I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with Leaf Filter!!! Previously, I had those "gutter brushes" in my rain gutters. They worked far better than Leaf Filter. I foolishly switched because my rain gutters needed some leveling work, etc. and I thought that installing Leaf Filter would address that and my leaves/debris that clog my gutters. DISCLAIMER: I do NOT work for any of the "gutter brush" companies, I never have, and I have not/am not receiving any compensation or product for recommending them instead of Leaf Filter. I also will not recommend any particular brand of gutter brushes. I will only recommend that you research "stainless steel gutter brush" and go from there. They actually do block the debris from getting into the rain gutter and, UNLIKE Leaf Filter, will make it so you no longer have to climb a ladder to deal with the leaves. The leaves will stop behind the top of the brush, on the roof side, and you can use a Leaf Rake (from the ground) to pull the leaves over the brush onto the ground when they build up. Gutter Brushes also cost FAR LESS than Leaf Filter. Getting back to Leaf Filter, IN MY OPINION, they are VERY overpriced, the salesmen use high pressure tactics, their customer service sucks, and the product just is on the verge of TERRIBLE!!! read more

The worst company I have every dealt with, bar none. Their rep came to measure and give me a" bid. After measuring, he came in my house with his 3" binder and went through it one page at a time. Then he hit me with the number. I almost fell out of my chair! I told him I couldn't afford it, but would discuss it with my son. He asked me to let him know that night. I left him a text saying I couldn't do it. The next day he called me and said they had a huge commercial job east of here and the district manager felt sorry for me, so they could do it for a third the price. I was really upset by their tactics and wanted no part of them. The next day, I received a text from someone else in the company offering me yet another "deal". By far the worst work and customer service ever. What they place on our home could have been done better by 3 year olds in a sandbox. Then months later and it has still not been corrected. So about the customer service - good luck with that. I actually had someone tell me that they would send an email to the correct department but did not know when I would get a call back - this is after months of trying to get this work addressed. Our gutters had fallen due to freezing rain and snow, accumulated debris, including pine needles leafs and age. They did not drain properly at all. I called Leaf Filter and Larry came out and gave us a very reasonable bid to clean out our rain gutters, level them and be sure they flowed properly, and instal their own debris covers to keep them from clogging up again. The job is guaranteed to remain debris-free, to flow properly, and to never be a problem again. Our home is three stories with a Chinese slate roof and copper gutters, in the mountain community of Lake Arrowhead, near Los Angeles. Our job took an extra day to complete due to custom features and a slate roof. Leaf Filter kept me informed of the progress and schedule, and the whole job took only two days to complete. Jose and his helpers were extremely polite and knowledgeable, and respectful of our property. We recommend Leaf Filter for repair of existing gutters as well as installation of new. The price quoted was so reasonable I didn't even get a second bid. And when they had to make a second trip to finish our job, there was hesitation and no increase in the price. read more

Don't be fooled by Leaf Filter! Hiring leaf filter was a huge mistake. To begin my experience I ran into Leaf Filter at a craft show. Since I had just done a new roof and gutters I thought that a gutter protection system would complete the project. I signed up at the Leaf Filter booth for a free estimate and they called the next day. The salesman Jack L. showed up on time and was informative about the system. He explained that the Leaf Filter had a life time no clog grantee which was one reason for the high cost of the system. This was very important to me because I was recently diagnosed with a extreme health issue and may not be capable of gutter cleaning much longer. Consequently I signed up even though Leaf Filter actually cost twice as much as my new gutters cost. It seemed despite the cost the service would be worth it. The next day install would begin with an installer Jack said was the best they had. The installer showed up around noon and began to work. Nightfall came and he was maybe half way complete with the project. He said he would return the following day at around the same time. On Saturday the installer called to report he would be late, but would show up to complete the job. A couple hours later he arrived and worked until dark to finish. By this time I was ready to be done, I rushed through signing the paperwork without close inspection. At first everything looked fine, then came the first snowfall. Just 12 days after the install, about 50 feet of my new gutter was ripped from the Leaf Filter guards and distorted by the snow. The next day I called Jack, who said it probably was the soft wood on my facia boards and would report it if I sent photos. This I did right away, but on inspection noticed that the amount of hidden hangers was only 2 per section. Jack had stated that there would be 4 to 5 per section and the website video clearly shows even more. Once again I phoned Jack who told me to call customer service. This I did and was told they would not even look at the problem until March. The system was installed in less than a week but they couldn't send anyone out to repair the damage for two months. Naturally after spending more than $8,000 on a guard system which failed in 12 days, I expected a quicker response then two months. Now I have called every number I could find to reach Leaf Filter and have been told March is the earliest and that's the best they could do for me. You can imagine how frustrated I am with this company and there response. I will continue with this review as more unfolds but save yourself some stress and stay away from Leaf Filter. read more
