Don't be fooled by Leaf Filter! Hiring leaf filter was a huge mistake. To begin my experience I ran into Leaf Filter at a craft show. Since I had just done a new roof and gutters I thought that a gutter protection system would complete the project. I signed up at the Leaf Filter booth for a free estimate and they called the next day. The salesman Jack L. showed up on time and was informative about the system. He explained that the Leaf Filter had a life time no clog grantee which was one reason for the high cost of the system. This was very important to me because I was recently diagnosed with a extreme health issue and may not be capable of gutter cleaning much longer. Consequently I signed up even though Leaf Filter actually cost twice as much as my new gutters cost. It seemed despite the cost the service would be worth it. The next day install would begin with an installer Jack said was the best they had. The installer showed up around noon and began to work. Nightfall came and he was maybe half way complete with the project. He said he would return the following day at around the same time. On Saturday the installer called to report he would be late, but would show up to complete the job. A couple hours later he arrived and worked until dark to finish. By this time I was ready to be done, I rushed through signing the paperwork without close inspection. At first everything looked fine, then came the first snowfall. Just 12 days after the install, about 50 feet of my new gutter was ripped from the Leaf Filter guards and distorted by the snow. The next day I called Jack, who said it probably was the soft wood on my facia boards and would report it if I sent photos. This I did right away, but on inspection noticed that the amount of hidden hangers was only 2 per section. Jack had stated that there would be 4 to 5 per section and the website video clearly shows even more. Once again I phoned Jack who told me to call customer service. This I did and was told they would not even look at the problem until March. The system was installed in less than a week but they couldn't send anyone out to repair the damage for two months. Naturally after spending more than $8,000 on a guard system which failed in 12 days, I expected a quicker response then two months. Now I have called every number I could find to reach Leaf Filter and have been told March is the earliest and that's the best they could do for me. You can imagine how frustrated I am with this company and there response. I will continue with this review as more unfolds but save yourself some stress and stay away from Leaf Filter. read more
