Tacos de Costilla
Maddi B.

Food and drinks were amazing but the price is very high for what you get. $22 for two beef tacos & $28 for two lobster tacos is kind of insane. Service was good and vibe is great but it's definitely a spot for when you're wanting to splurge.

Huevos con mole shakshuka

I had breakfast at Soledad last week, and I adored it. It's a charming Mexican restaurant named for chef/owner Julian Medina's grandmother, who was from Michoacán. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, and I lucked out that I was going to be in the neighborhood on a Friday morning and could stop by for breakfast. I started with a café de olla (a delicious Mexican coffee treat with orange and canela) and a fresh grapefruit juice. I ordered their huevos con mole shakshuka (baked eggs, mole poblano, plaintains, crema, and queso fresco), which was rich and delicious. I really wish I'd had room for a pastry dessert (hibiscus concha filled with blueberry cream? a churro-ssant? a corn pistachio cake? Mexican shortbread cake?), but sadly was too full. The cafe is charming - pretty and comfortable - and the service was great. I'd happily return for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

Margarita, guacamole and my buddy had the skirt stake. She loved it.

Food is always great and fresh, the margaritas are awesome, never change, service was great thank you Rafael and Jorge. The ambience is always nice , will be back again.

This review is for Soledad, a Latin restaurant right here in my neighborhood--and I'm so glad I finally went. I've walked past Soledad so many times, and it always catches your eye. It's cute, it's quaint, and everything is pink... which immediately had me because I am very much a pink girl. I'd been wanting to try it for a while, so one day my cousin and I decided to do a little drinks + appetizers moment, and let me tell you--it did not disappoint. We started with the crispy carnita sushi, which was delicious and such a fun appetizer. I also ordered the lobster burrito tacos, which were really good. My cousin got tacos as well (forgive me, I can't remember which ones), but everything we tried hit. For drinks, I had a coconut mojito--so refreshing--and my cousin went with a flavored margarita that was also really good. For dessert (because obviously), we split the churro sundae and the tres leches cake. Both were delicious and worth it. I finished things off with a cappuccino, which honestly surprised me in the best way--it was really good and a perfect ending. Now let's talk about the ambience, because this is where Soledad really shines. The vibe is giving Miami meets New York--upscale but still casual. The velvet high-top booths, the inviting bar, the decor, the china... everything just feels intentional and good. It's intimate without being stuffy, which makes it perfect for date night or a girls' night, but I could also see families enjoying it too. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the overall vibe was just right. They serve breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner, so it's definitely a versatile spot. And yes--it is very picturesque. If you want to get your Instagram or TikTok content, this is absolutely the place, and the bonus is that the food actually tastes good too. I'll definitely be going back. Good vibes, good food, great atmosphere--Soledad is a win.

Picanha tacos

Stopped by Soledad to grab take out of lunch tacos! Hubby really wanted the fish tacos. So we got that, plus the picanha, and chicken tacos and the burrito. We liked the tacos. The chicken was quite dry so will likely stick to the beef next time. Always with tacos, it must always be eaten warm. Because I got take out, it definitely took the ommph out of the tacos. However we will definitely go back to dine in next time.

This was such a lovely place and the food was delicious. I need to come again to try their other food items. The interior decor is cozy, cute, and elegant. And the staff are super nice. I ordered the concha pancakes, which come in three stacked pancakes with an assortment of strawberries and blueberries, topped with butter. On the side is a berry syrup that is both sweet and tarte. The pancakes are dense and very filling, I was struggling to finish it all. They were exquisite and I still think about them. Highly recommend if you are looking for a refreshing pancake!

I stopped in for happy hour, 4-6pm M-F, which is amazing. Small bites/ tacos and $10 drinks. I mainly chose this spot for the bar. I loved the look of the bar area. Decent sized dining area, warm inviting colors, long bar area upon entry.. Heavy variety of tequila. The drinks were well made. Staff were warm and welcoming. Things were timely. I'll have to stop in another time for the food. The back area looks like a nice intimate dinner spot. I'll go again for that.

Came here for a few weeks ago and loved it! I think it's relatively new to the area but I would definitely come back again! For a Tuesday evening it was pretty lively which bodes well for its popularity I think. Despite being busy, the service was efficient and staff members were friendly! We tried a few different items including the tuna tartar tacos, ensalada de verano, enchiladas soledad, pato con mole (duck carnitas), and pasta seca. I have to say the tacos and enchiladas were my favorite but there's so much more on the menu we didn't get to try. For a group of 5 people this was a good amount of food though I'm sure we could have finished another entree if we tried. Will definitely return in the future!

Loved everything I ate here! I would definitely recommend the branzino, but everything was amazing. The restaurant was also very cute and would be perfect for a girls night or date night

Love Potion Cocktail

Came here for our Valentine's Day Dinner. We booked a reservation at 6:45pm, but arrived a tad bit earlier and they were kind enough to seat us. This place looks relatively new-ish, as you can tell with the decor. I'm a fan of how they optimized their seating with the high tables and leveraged the wall to add seating without adding extra chairs and making the walkways way too narrow. Big fan of that. With that said, we ordered their special Valentine's Day cocktail of sorts.... it was called a "Love Potion."..... I forget what was actually in it, but it tasted pretty damn good, not gonna lie. We then shared guac. It was awesome guac. They included a smaller chipotle-style dip on the side that complemented the chips and guac really well. Also enjoyed the chips as they were super fresh. While my better half ordered a Valentine's Day Special seafood dish, I found a way to order the Enchiladas Soledad vegetarian. That was really really good. It wasn't heavy, but I enjoyed because verde enchiladas are my favorite. We then ended the night with the Valentine's Day Special dessert. It was an orange cake of sorts. Also will note that the bathroom was very spacious and very clean. This was a great Valentine's Day Dinner indeed. Wonderful ambiance and even better food.

Tradito Tiradito de Atun
Kathy L.

One of the most inventive and delicious Mexican meals I've had in a long time. My favorite was the Tradito tuna, my husband loved the crispy rice carnitas and my son loved the meatballs which were very unique. For mains we had the pasta Dan Dan noodles (such complex flavors) and the perfectly executed duck mole

Chile Relleno
Tiffany T.

Tuna Tiradito was 10/10. Loved it. Chile relleno was 10/10. Great option for vegetarians. It might even be vegan. Churro sundae was 8/10. Good but not special if that makes sense. La chica cocktail was great, the Paloma cocktail was not. Will definitely go back to try more dishes. 100% recommend.

Duck Mole at rear, steak front.

Beautiful space with friendly staff on a rainy Sunday brunch. We loved the lunch menu plus the breakfast menu. Cocktails solid, small beer list, decent wines. We picked the Duck and the steak both were excellent but the duck won! Pineapple upside down cake was also good. Happy we tried it, an elevated authentic Mexican restaurant worth a visit anytime of day.

Very expensive - my duck mole was close to 40 and you can hardly find an entree under 30. My take - overpriced

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.

I had to drink my frozen Patron Margarita standing up until a space at the bar open up after 20-25 minutes. Once seated, my area wasn't properly cleaned. I felt awkward and uncomfortable. I reluctantly ordered fish tacos with mild guacamole but was given spicy guacamole. The fish tacos were a little cold. The service was rushed. I left without ordering another drink or more food.
