These guys are great! Had nothing but a poz experience from here. first I had ceramic tinting done on my 2014 mitsubishi. And then went back for a pioneer NEX navi sys installed. They definitely took the time to make sure they get the job done right. Especially with my car being a newer model. I admit I was worried they would screw something up; especially with my knowledge of car installs and that they did not work on this model before. But they did everything perfect. These guys did yet another vehicle for me...2014 dodge charger. Top notch as always. Called a day in advance to make an appointment and just waited for it. The guys were just about ready for me when I pulled up. Took 2 hours but Santoro's sandwich shop is next door so I just ate and killed time there. This was the 3rd job they did for me plus another for a buddy of mine and always do a superb job. Do yourself a favor and don't go anywhere else for window tint! after a long, exhaustive process of window tint shopping, as they are on every corner in LA, and can be quite seedy, i finally, due to yelp, decided on SOLAR TINT. it was a long drive for me but i am very particular about my windows and trusted the reviews here. so in i went! i was so pleased with the service, pricing, timeliness, cleanliness and overall treatment by the owner who has been in business for over 30 years! upon my arrival, i was treated very well by the owner and the employees, they took patient time to show me all the options and make recommendations based on my needs and preferences. the shop was non-chaotic yet efficient and friendly. and clean! during the process while i waited for my car, the owner has set up a very comfortable patio type atmosphere with comfy chairs and a little table for which to write or eat. these little things score extra points for making it nice! i must add also that the owner came over and sat with me for a few minutes and talked to me personally about his business, and shared some insights. he showed me his car which was beautifully tinted and in general was a very courteous, kind, respectful and professional man. i would give him the name 'zen master of tinted windows' based on the treatment i received and the quality of the work, its been over a year since i had the work done, i would highly recommend this shop and have referred several people there already and will return for stereo tune-ups when i can! thank you for doing a great job! read more

I made an appointment for windshield tint and showed up on time. 15 minutes into my appointment, he took a walk-in and stopped working on my car. I waited 25 minutes while he helped the walk-in and finally told him that my appointment should take priority and he told me to go somewhere else. Total waste of time. read more

My wife and I decided to have tinting added to our car to make our summer driving more comfortable. We found Solar Craft here on Yelp and after reading the "tinting reviews" decided to pay them a visit. As we arrived we had a chance to observe the tinting technician finishing up an install and were very impressed by how carefully he was doing his job. We met David, the very friendly owner, and were further impressed by how knowlegable he was about the various tinting shades and materials available to us and we appreciated how pleasantly he answered our questions and addressed our concerns. It was all very friendly and casual and there was never any high pressure to get our work done there. We told him we'd think it over and David gave us a written quote on the back of a business card along with the tinting shade codes we had discussed. My wife and I agreed that his price was fair and the initial contact experience with him impressive enough that we called and scheduled our car to be tinted the next day. Solarcraft has done the tint on 8 cars for me in the past 15 years. I have always been happy with their work and Dave is always friendly. I have never had a bad experience with any of their tint work. I've only used Solarcraft for audio related work once and there was slight issue that kind of bothered me. When they installed the stereo in my '70 el camino, they reversed the speaker wires. So when I want sound from the right speaker it comes out of the left and vice versa. This isn't really a huge deal and I never spoke to Dave about it as I hardly drive the car. If it wasn't for that, I'd give him 5 stars. read more

My experience was similar to T.R. There is something seriously wrong with the way this place is run. It is unprofessional and chaotic. Made an appointment a week in advance for 1 PM on a Saturday. Guy on the phone was trying to get me to come in during the week (impossible) because he said "we are very busy on Saturday". So I was prepared to be patient. Got there and he didn't seem too pleased to see me. Although he had my appointment written down. I also wanted a Satellite radio and I saw that they had a bunch of them on display. fat chance to get any info, though. the guy barely made eye contact with me and walked away. I tracked him down in the parking lot sitting in a van talking to a client and asked him if I was free to leave. He said yes. Came back at 3: 35 PM (I had been told it would take about 2 1/2 hours) to see my car sitting out front - clearly not touched. Assumed there'd been a problem and asked the installers working in the bay what the deal was. They directed me to the Asian guy clearly the owner) who had taken my appointment. Went looking for him and found him - you guessed it - sitting in a van in the parking lot. He said they were really backed up. Told him it would have been nice if he would have communicated that earlier in the day. I'd already committed 2 and a half hours to this process. Asked him what time the appointment was for the car they were currently working on - he said 11 AM! I'm sorry when you're still working on your 11 Am job at 3: 35 PM there's something amiss. He saw that I was pissed and said he would guarantee the car would be done by 5 PM. BTW, there is no air conditioning in this place - there are maybe two plastic chairs you can sit on - the area is open to the sun and it was 90 degrees and humid. Took myself off to a local biz for some a/c and cooled my heels. Came back at 5 minutes before 5 PM to find the guys just cleaning the windows in my car preparatory to STARTING to apply tint. I. got out of there at 6: 10 PM. The entire afternoon the guy, who I assume to be the owner, never made eye contact with me, never apologized. Their true client base is clearly the gearhead/car nut guy who comes by every week and knows them all on a first name basis. These people were well taken care of, even schmoozed, and several people who came by that the owner DID talk to made reference to having come in the week before and coming back next week etc. I was clearly identified as a one shot client and therefore not worth the effort. As I was leaving one of the guys who had worked on my car stopped me and asked me if I'd been given any instructions about the windows. I said no. He then told me not to roll down the windows for 24 hours and never to windex them. Those instructions were almost an afterthought. Another guy asked me if i was planning on putting in a cd player. I'd told him I'd wanted to but I was never coming back. He said "Too bad we didn't know that -I could have installed it while the other guys were tinting your window". Yes, too bad. They did a good job which is why I gave them two stars but it was a horrible experience. Got fried in the sun, wasted a whole afternoon and wish I would have gotten a mobile tinter to come to my house. I would have willingly paid more money not to have spent such a miserable afternoon. read more

This place conducted a really and well job on tinting my windows on my 07 Corolla vehicle. I been to a lot of excellent window tint places in the surrounding L.A and San Gabriel area. But i have to say they do an impressive job. David and Ernesto are really friendly people with an amazing customer service. They really are knowledgeable, competent , and understand able about their products. Their price is decent and reasonable. You will get quality work from this tint shop. They do not do mickey mouse, and or low quality work. They also do alarm, stereo system, key less entry, and door locks install. I had the good ceramic tint installed. I swear the guy (wish I could remember his name) with 30 years of tinting under his belt must be the Jedi of tinting. If you know what to look for, you can see this guy is a master at what he does. Don't bother coming into this place at all, the service is terrible and they do a horrible job for your car. I came in here to get my windows tinted because I had never done that before and for once I thought to myself let me go ahead and get my windows tinted on my car. It'll be cool & what came out was worse than any service I've had before. They screwed up a friend of mine's tinted windows as well too so I'm sending this out to everyone don't bother coming to this place at all. I had to pay twice the charge to get my car back to what it was. Plus these guys never took responsibility for their poor job. I don't know how they are even in business!!! Was out by 5pm - quick, easy, and no up selling - they used my existing hardware and harness. Best of all the price was really reasonable - $45. I love supporting local business - forget the best buy's of the world!! I went to Solar Craft to have a new radio/CD player installed in my 1993 Volvo sedan after reading many positive reviews on Yelp. I had been referred to another car stereo shop by a friend but had read some mixed reviews so I continued looking for another place. When I got to Solar Craft my old CD player was not working and my automatic antenna was not working either. I thought I would have to replace both, but after looking at the setup they realized that the antenna was fine and had just become disconnected. Once reconnected, it was operating properly and they said there was no reason to replace it. They did a great job installing the new stereo and made no attempts to sell me a more expensive model when I chose one that was more in the "budget" range. Several weeks went by and I was so happy with the work they did that I brought our other car (a 1989 Volvo 740 wagon) in and had them replace the stereo and the antenna in that car. Again, they did an outstanding job, did not try to sell me items I didn't want or need and they were fast, very courteous and neat! High marks for Solar Craft - I would highly recommend them. read more

I got an AUX install from these guys and they did an awesome job. Talked me through it all before they did the work and had a fair price.

I called and got a great quote over the phone to install a new stereo in my car. I made an appointment for later that day. I showed up and they were ready for me. It took about 35-40 minutes and they we done. Then the guy who installed the radio synced up my phone to the Bluetooth and showed my how to used my new stereo. I was charged the quote given over the phone and everyone was very friendly. read more

I have been coming to this guy David for years, work was always ok. The last two times I had work done there it was a surprise price increase. Be careful of the surprise cost. I called David three days before bringing my car to him and was told $190. To have my windows tinted. Up on arrival the cost went up to $200. Not a problem only $10. I dropped my car off and was told two hours to have the work done, (7windows). When I returned David said it took an hour to clean off old glue from a previous tint. (I bought the car used with no tint on the car) that was a lie about the time to clean the glue, It took two hours to tint the window, and if they cleaned off old glue it didn't take an hour. So my cost of $200 went up to $240. They charged me $40 up on my return. Now my issue here is I didn't get a call or any type of notice that the price would increase. Giving me a notice gives me the option to take my car elsewhere. On top of that, I had tipped his worker $15 before I was told about the price increase. Absolutely bad business, and shame on you David. read more

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !! FAR FROM CUSTUM !!I didn't get there tint so this is for there so called (non) CUSTUM stereo install. First off David is a total salesman . I knew what I wanted and got talked in to some brand I never heard of and they put subs in I didn't want when I went to pick up my truck. The system wasn't even tuned to specs sounded like crap. Took it back 3 times and finally went somewhere else and had it all ripped out and had what I wanted installed by a PROFESSIONAL . They cut my carpet kit all up I had to have that replaced . Also had nothing but engine noise while driving.. Make sure you look at his signs at the shop they say they aren't responsible for anything with your vehicle , that's not a good business practice if its there fault. So I ended up paying twice for a 1 crapy system and then went somewhere else for a BOMB ASS system. So think twice . I wish I could post pictures of all the damage these so called professionals did ,and put the name of the Real professionals that put in the real system!!! read more

My car stereo wasn't working so I took it to Solarcraft after reading the positive reviews. The manager or owner told me my speaker was blown and my amp was fried. He then sold me a high-end top of the line made in France speaker and a high-end amp. I dropped a lot of money. They tested the system at an extremely high volume and it sounded fine from 10 feet away, which is where I was standing. When I got home and played a few acoustic songs the audio was distorted and muffled. It sounded like it was coming from another room. I went back, the owner adjusted a few things on the amp but it made no difference. He clearly had no idea why it sounded like sh*t and was really nice and apologetic about it but didn't offer money back. I could have made a scene but that's not my style. They know how to screw in a speaker, they know how to sell an expensive product, but they know nothing about audio. Haven't used my car stereo since. I don't recommend Solarcraft. read more
