Burbank Sounds was a big help with a small problem. I had a tweeter go bad in my fancy Bose original car stereo. Rather than propose selling me an entire new system, Sinhue suggested I find a factory replacement speaker via ebay and that he would install it. So I did, and he did, and the stereo sounds great (again) for 1/10th of the cost of replacing the system. read more

This place is an honest and fair business. They fixed some wiring issues I caused by connecting incorrect wires to each other. Not only that, but they put the wires in tubes and wrapped them. They did such an amazing job and it looks like stock. Their work is a night and day difference compared to other businesses that did wiring for me in the past. Highly recommend this business. The only thing is they don't have anything to lift cars up or for lower cars to drive on and they also don't remove bumpers if necessary. Needed to get my sub fixed but the man working on it at this spot was extremely unprofessional. For starters he acted miserable, he hardly spoke any English and didn't make any effort in trying to communicate. He had no customer service skills at all. He broke the cover on my amplifier trying to pry it open when I told him multiple times that there were screws on it. He also had an unpleasant odor that was lingering in my car. I had to spray an air freshener and air it out afterward, no joke. Instead of fixing the issue, they created more problems. The staff here is incompetent. To begin, i had no problem with this company when I had my CarPlay stereo installed, many months ago for my 2013 Honda fit with manual transmission. Things went pretty smooth for that installation. Fast forward to today, and I have literally been in the dark and disappointed with the promise, quotes and possible insulation of a push start ignition system to the same car. I have left my car, on & off, there for total of 3 days with a promise of getting a quote (which were ridiculous - from $200 to $750) and getting the insulation completed. The first day I didn't receive a call until the end of the day and I was first in line. Something about the insulation guy was at an emergency and they couldn't find a substitute. (WTF?) They gave me a promise that the insulation would be done the next day which turned out to be false because they couldn't install the kit that I had brought, per their request. I ordered a new unit for the insulation. Dropped off the car at 10:30 this morning was promised that I receive a call shortly regarding a quote and getting insulation completed. Fast forward to now, no call. So I called them to get information regarding this insulation. Basically, they told me to get my car because they don't want to install it... all because of the failure of them to communicate with me, but they're installation guy was still at Carmax (WTF?) and didn't have any idea when he was able to come by and install this push button ignition for my Honda Fit. My point is communication is key when leaving any product with a company when getting something done in a timely matter. Far as I'm concerned, they could care less about about being a professional business that would provide extraordinary service. Even responding via email was a disappointment. I recommend finding services elsewhere. Keep in mind, there's not many businesses in the Los Angeles area that do this type of installation. So, Good luck. read more

install on componets are clean. Good wire runs. I had to return to "tune up" some issues that arose with items. Alarm install was good however, I don't think putting the receiver (where blue light emits and valet button) on the middle top of the windshield is the best location considering that the sun will be hitting that sucker all day. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. WILL RUIN YOUR CAR AND TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY. If I could, I would give this place negative 5 stars. They do not have the proper knowledge or tools to work on European vehicles. However, they will still take your car in, while charging you extra fees for the "extra difficulty" of dealing with a European engine. This is extremely dishonorable for any business owner/facility. They charged me more than double the regular price for an install service (because of the European make) and took my car in for the day. It was returned to me with my engine light and EPC light on. The mechanic informed me that he did everything he could and he could not figure out how to turn them off, he did not have the proper tools to work on the engine computer, and I would need to go to the dealership to turn them off. I said okay, asked if the vehicle is drivable and he said it was fine. Then I noticed that the engine was lagging and would not accelerate properly. Gaining speed on the freeway was incredibly difficult, and I was scared that my engine would fail on the freeway and immediately exited. After a month of going back and forth between my dealer and this shop, (all the while my car was not drivable, and stored at the dealers shop) they refused to pay for the damages they had caused. They even alleged that I had brought the car in with the damages and tried to take themselves completely out of the equation. VERY DISHONORABLE. Then, the shop continued to tell me to bring the car back to them so they could try to fix it themselves. They assured me that their friend knew how to work on European engines and that they would fix the car for me. I was very worried and uncomfortable with the shop "trying to fix it" and letting their "friend" take a go at my engine. They didn't even want to take responsibility for the damages already incurred- what was to stop them from further damaging my car, and then telling me that they weren't responsible?? I simply could not trust that this wouldn't happen to me- nor could I ever feel comfortable driving the car if they somehow "figured out" the problem and turned the lights off. Once I leave the shop, they would have no skin in the game, and would not blink twice if my car had more problems- and likely would take no responsibility based on their current behavior. My dealer sent them the bill to fix the damages to the wiring and engine (they offered photos and video documentation), and I even offered to pay half the bill to feel safe in my own car. The shop would not budge- they still refused to take responsibility and wanted their "friend" to try to fix it. In order to feel safe, I opted to pay the full $2,000 bill myself and will never return to this awful place again. This is one of the most expensive lessons I have ever had to learn. I took my less than a year old truck in to get a security system installed because it had been broken into, and a few months later my truck wouldn't start because of the battery. I took it in to get it fixed/rewired and now I'm having the exact same issues. The reason I finally bought a brand new truck was to avoid car trouble, but a car isn't worth anything if it won't start. I would go back a third time and have them fix it, but if they couldn't fix it the second time I doubt they'll fix it this time, too. My experience with Burbank sounds has been largely positive. I just had my head unit upgraded so nothing major. However, I do want to give a shout out to the owner for helping me when my first unit stopped working. Was able to get me into a better brand that had Apple CarPlay as well which is what I was mainly wanting. Only reason for the missing star is I just wish they took a little more TLC on installation making sure that everything is fully set up properly etc. other than that I would definitely recommend. read more

I went back because I realized that they didn't mount the stereo they taped it in place. I asked them to fix it. They may have but they left so much undone. Stay away from this place! I've been a loyal costumer and I've had two stereos installed for good prices before but they got greedy. They charged me $300 for labor for a simple stereo installation and $150 for a part you can get online for $32!!!!!!!! They're ripping people off. And the installation was not worth that much because they were wires left sticking out and I had to come back two days later when they originally told me it would only take only two hours for them to finish. To top it off the auto dim feature on the GPS map wasn't working properly. At night the map wasn't switching to night mode. I took my truck in last thursday morning on the recommendation of a co-worker that the folks here knew what they were doing. While the quote was a bit high for labor, I decided to go ahead and have a stereo installed. I pulled out my credit card and offered to pay, but Sylvia, the apparent owner said I could pay after the work was done. Sinhue Quirin gave me a ride back to my work, about a mile away in his BMW. Nice enough guy for a heavy metal guitarist. Sylvia called that afternoon that my truck was ready, but their credit machine was down and could I bring in cash. I pointed out to her that they had my ride. She said she would call back, and did. She wanted to have someone pick me up and take me by my bank, since I didn't have $280 in cash on me. It began to feel like a drug deal. No discount offered for the cash only transaction, and the guy who picked me up was driving a ratty Nissan with semi-working air conditioning on a hot afternoon. He said he rented a bay fron Sylvia and installed the tinted windows and was picking me up as a favor to her. When I got to the shop, Sinhue's BMW was out front and he was sitting at his desk. He didn't look up the entire time I was in the lobby. Not a great experience overall. The stereo was installed and worked. The workmanship was not very clean, two cuts to the plastic faceplate looked like they were done without a straight edge. Here's the kicker: last night I drove the truck and the running lights in the dashboard now don't work at all. I left a message for Sylvia this morning and I'm waiting on a call back. I wanted to make advance arrangements (necessarily by phone or email) for installation of an iPod adapter in her ten-year-old Honda Civic.
