Solar Shine Bros -- perfect name for Jake and Nick's company. Our panels had never been cleaned properly since they were installed five years ago. When they were done, they literally did shine. I have wondered how much a dirty solar panel impacts the production of energy. The day after they did the cleaning (in Sept), I noticed about a 20% increase in solar production from typical days in the weeks before. It's only one day, but it has been cloudy every day since, so it's the only data point I have as I write this. Bonus: these guys are just personally awesome! Jake and Nick did an outstanding job cleaning all 16 of my solar panels. They were professional, punctual, and reasonably priced- but, that being said. Price isn't everything. I could have hired my kids to do it -but do I want my kids up on my roof risking their lives? No way. Solar panels are expensive. If you clean them with the wrong brushes or don't properly pressure wash the grit off first you will cause scratches (like swirl marks on car paint) and that is permanent damage that will lower their ability to perform. What really stood out was the care they took to protect my patio furniture and landscaping during the job with attention to detail. They also installed bird netting to keep pigeons from nesting under the panels, which was a huge bonus considering the sun doesn't shine through bird poop. I was so impressed with their work that I asked them to pressure wash my patio. Not only did they use a professional-grade surface scrubber, but they went above and beyond -- cleaning our pavers and all the concrete areas around the house after washing the entire home exterior. Everything looks brand new again! Realtors always say pressure washing your home and concrete is one of the most important things you can do and now I see why! These guys are local, hardworking, and take pride in their work. I'll definitely be calling them again and recommending them to everyone I know. See you guys next year!! read more
