I arrived around 1:10pm, and the older white male security guard checked the couple in front of me without issue. However, when I walked up and said, "I have an appointment for her" (I had my child with me), he took huge issue with that and said angrily, "Is she going in alone?" and I responded "No" and he said, "Well, then you should say 'I have an appointment'" in a very rude and loud tone. I felt extremely targeted. I do not know if it is because I am a young woman or because I'm Asian, but his treatment towards me was so different from how he treated the man and woman in front of me. I do not know exactly how I could have offended him by saying "I have an appointment for her", clearly in reference to my child who was with me, but it felt like my very existence was offensive to him. I felt on edge and unsafe the entire time I was there due to my experience with this rude and belligerent security guard. He should be fired, or at the very least given sensitivity training. Why treat a young mother with a 1 year old as if she is the crap on the bottom of your shoe? What exactly did I do to warrant such an angry reaction? I am so disappointed with my experience here due to the security guard who seems like he bullies people who he deems weak just for the fun of it. I have submitted a feedback form to Social Security about my experience with him.

Rather than call, we live close to this office so we decided to go in person. The security guard was super nice and friendly asking us what we came in to do and if we had an appointment. We did not, so we had to take a number and wait about 20 minutes or so. He was so kind and helpful to all, greeting them ad they walked in, and saying "ok have a great day" as they walked out. The lady that we saw was patient snd explained everything to us. We were only supposed to get one set of pages 1-14 and she entered all the answers into the system that we had already done, and as for what we needed clarification on, she was very helpful and cleared it up. 5 stars for her! She said we should expect to see another set of pages come in the next couple of weeks and if we had more questions to come and see her! A lot of it was repetitive, we had no problem filling it out, but my husband did go in person to turn it in rather than put it in the mail. ( This was right during the primary voting so we didn't want it to be delayed). This is a very long review , but I hope it encourages someone to go in, and get help or clarification on SS paperwork.

Their security guard on point, alert and in great service, he called me out when I was too close to the check in, unaware, he pointed to the red sign and politely asked me to wait further back to respect the privacy of others, he would assist the elderly when they couldn't hear the muffled audible calls or see the screen. I was deeply moved by all of this, and am grateful for the security and experience. So after a month, I came in yesterday for my appointment and I thought I had all the documents I needed to apply for a replacement Social Security card. But turns out Rafael told me that I needed more verified documents like my child's report card showing the date of her birth and name since I did not have a student ID card. At first, I was a bit irritated because when I made the appointment, the gentleman (who I made the appointment with last time) didn't tell me I needed a specific documents and what I had on hand, he said it would be fine. But thankfully, Rafael was nice enough to explain what I needed and if I come back to him, then he would try to squeeze me in. And I told him, I'm going to go home right now and come back within 20 minutes. When I got back the security officer, Corbin was really chill and friendly. I can tell by his aura that he's a cool dude and I'm glad he's working there because I think he brings happiness in that environment with his vibe. Anyways, Raphaël saw me & signaled me to go to the window. I gave him everything I found that he asked for, and the process went smoothly. I really appreciate him because he turned my irritation into satisfaction. I'm glad I handled business because now I don't have to worry about it. And for those that go stand in line in the morning, very early to get a ticket, you don't have to do that anymore because there's a QR code on the front door where you scan with your phone and your automatic in the queue. All you have to do when they open: you scan the barcode and you get your ticket, real simple and easy. Anyways, this location was chill and the workers were cool. All I gotta say is be nice and appreciative and you'll have a great day doing things you don't want to do, lol.

He said they were short-staffed. I replied that perhaps they should at least advertise that people need to call ahead, instead of wasting the public's time and their staff's time. She went over all the questions and would ask me if I understood which I did after her patient explanations. Soon a half hour was over and I had my notes and we had finished the sign up process. Criselda should be an employee who teaches others how to help new people signing up. I will be glad to speak to her superior to let them know what a wonderful employee they have. TLDR: You are required to set up appointments for all visits now…read more After attempting to apply online (which didn't work) I happened to be in the area for the DMV so I figured I'd walk over as it's not stated anywhere online that you must have an appointment. When you get there the loud speaker announcement states they have appointments available within 5 days. I almost laughed because it's wildly inaccurate. I'd booked an appointment a few days before for the first one available - almost 3 weeks out. Even if you go by business days, it's not close to being accurate. Currently they'll let you sign in, get a number, wait for 30 minutes, then call your number, and at your window you'll be told to make an appointment and they'll refuse to help you further. It's absolutely bonkers and I've never seen anything like it. After I was told I could wait an additional 3-4 hours for the possibility of speaking with someone, I asked if like the DMV they could text me when someone can speak with me. No. No, they don't do that either. I left. I will say I ended up googling and found a great thread that talked about the different processes people have used to get into their non-working SSA accounts. I tried a few of them and was finally able to log in via IDme on an incognito window so I could download a statement of my account, which solved about half of what I needed. Overall, it was a pretty awful and extremely inefficient experience all around. Definitely would not recommend.

At the same time ask the person what you should prepare to bring with you (forms, id, other members of the family, etc etc); 2- Arrive for your appt 10 min early so you have time to get through the security check (similar to TSA at airport). There is plenty of FREE Parking there! 3- Be kind to the security check people -- they're just doing their job. 4- Have everything in hand for your appt, so when you're called to go to a Window, you're ready. They will first ask for your ID. 5- Both times I visited this office, the window agents were first rate. They answered all my questions and gave me tips on how to proceed afterwards. I really appreciate the competence + excellence of all the people I've interacted with here.

So I do, AAA advice to call fastrack pay and get an Abstract letter. With that I will be able to go to go to the DMV and pay my registration. I got the abstract letter in the mail I get in line at the DMV. I called to window 3! I give her my resignation and the abstract letter. She tells me I don't need that you still have citations showing. So I said well all of the citations showing are here in the paper and like the paper states show this to DMV! She said nope! That paper means nothing to me! She asked me if I wanted to pay my registration so I said yes!!! She moves on to tell me she can't give me a sticker till the citations are removed. So I asked her. Ok if I get pulled over I can just show that I paid correct. She said naw you will still get a ticket because technically you have not renewed your registration! At this point I'm irritated and I need this paid. I pay my registration. She hands over the papers. Call fasttrack and they are saying they have no more citations for me to pay! That the DMV should have taken the abstract letter as to why they always send for that same reason! What's the point of having all this technology if the DMV can't event communicate with fastrack to verify you have paid the tickets!

Representative Barbara Lee and HSDLA (Homeschool Legal Defense Association) advocated for him. It took nearly a year for SS to respond and pay what is my sons benefits by law. This ignorant biased decision by these two SS reps in te Oakland office created unexpected for stress for the last year.
