I went to the Suisun City, CA social security office on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025 for an…read moreappointment at 1:20pm. I arrived around 1:10pm, and the older white male security guard checked the couple in front of me without issue. However, when I walked up and said, "I have an appointment for her" (I had my child with me), he took huge issue with that and said angrily, "Is she going in alone?" and I responded "No" and he said, "Well, then you should say 'I have an appointment'" in a very rude and loud tone. I felt extremely targeted. I do not know if it is because I am a young woman or because I'm Asian, but his treatment towards me was so different from how he treated the man and woman in front of me. I do not know exactly how I could have offended him by saying "I have an appointment for her", clearly in reference to my child who was with me, but it felt like my very existence was offensive to him. I felt on edge and unsafe the entire time I was there due to my experience with this rude and belligerent security guard. He should be fired, or at the very least given sensitivity training. Why treat a young mother with a 1 year old as if she is the crap on the bottom of your shoe? What exactly did I do to warrant such an angry reaction? I am so disappointed with my experience here due to the security guard who seems like he bullies people who he deems weak just for the fun of it. I have submitted a feedback form to Social Security about my experience with him.

Rather than call, we live close to this office so we decided to go in person. The security guard was super nice and friendly asking us what we came in to do and if we had an appointment. We did not, so we had to take a number and wait about 20 minutes or so. He was so kind and helpful to all, greeting them ad they walked in, and saying "ok have a great day" as they walked out. The lady that we saw was patient snd explained everything to us. We were only supposed to get one set of pages 1-14 and she entered all the answers into the system that we had already done, and as for what we needed clarification on, she was very helpful and cleared it up. 5 stars for her! She said we should expect to see another set of pages come in the next couple of weeks and if we had more questions to come and see her! A lot of it was repetitive, we had no problem filling it out, but my husband did go in person to turn it in rather than put it in the mail. ( This was right during the primary voting so we didn't want it to be delayed). This is a very long review , but I hope it encourages someone to go in, and get help or clarification on SS paperwork.

Their security guard on point, alert and in great service, he called me out when I was too close to the check in, unaware, he pointed to the red sign and politely asked me to wait further back to respect the privacy of others, he would assist the elderly when they couldn't hear the muffled audible calls or see the screen. I was deeply moved by all of this, and am grateful for the security and experience. Since I came in a little late I wasn't able to complete my appeal due to consideration for closing, yet I believe her name was Betty or Becky printed out all the steps and paperwork needed, I am grateful for she have the best service due to her limitations.

So after a month, I came in yesterday for my appointment and I thought I had all the documents I needed to apply for a replacement Social Security card. But turns out Rafael told me that I needed more verified documents like my child's report card showing the date of her birth and name since I did not have a student ID card. At first, I was a bit irritated because when I made the appointment, the gentleman (who I made the appointment with last time) didn't tell me I needed a specific documents and what I had on hand, he said it would be fine. But thankfully, Rafael was nice enough to explain what I needed and if I come back to him, then he would try to squeeze me in. And I told him, I'm going to go home right now and come back within 20 minutes. When I got back the security officer, Corbin was really chill and friendly. I can tell by his aura that he's a cool dude and I'm glad he's working there because I think he brings happiness in that environment with his vibe. Anyways, Raphaël saw me & signaled me to go to the window. I gave him everything I found that he asked for, and the process went smoothly. I really appreciate him because he turned my irritation into satisfaction. I'm glad I handled business because now I don't have to worry about it. And for those that go stand in line in the morning, very early to get a ticket, you don't have to do that anymore because there's a QR code on the front door where you scan with your phone and your automatic in the queue. All you have to do when they open: you scan the barcode and you get your ticket, real simple and easy. Anyways, this location was chill and the workers were cool. All I gotta say is be nice and appreciative and you'll have a great day doing things you don't want to do, lol.

At that point, I was just two numbers away from being called. I asked the security guard why there weren't signs posted near the kiosks or a notice on the electronic board explaining this beforehand. He said they were short-staffed. I replied that perhaps they should at least advertise that people need to call ahead, instead of wasting the public's time and their staff's time. I then told the clerk I wanted to wait for a manager to discuss the inefficiencies. After another 10 minutes with no response, I left. This office is beyond ridiculous

Criselda should be an employee who teaches others how to help new people signing up. I will be glad to speak to her superior to let them know what a wonderful employee they have. 1/5 -- Extremely Frustrating and Unacceptable Experience…read more I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received at the Social Security office in Concord. I have been trying since the beginning of this year to get what should be simple documentation processed, and after multiple attempts, I still have not been able to get the help or resolution I need. Today, September 9, 2026, at approximately 9:57 AM, I specifically asked to speak with a supervisor because the issue has been going on for months. Instead of contacting the supervisor or explaining a clear process for speaking with one, I was repeatedly denied the opportunity. I even asked what I needed to do in order to speak with the supervisor, and they still would not call or notify the supervisor that I was requesting assistance. What made the experience even worse was the security guard on site today. The interaction was extremely rude and disrespectful at a time when I was simply trying to get assistance with an issue that has remained unresolved for most of the year. It is unacceptable that someone can spend months trying to resolve a documentation issue and still be unable to get meaningful assistance or even speak with a supervisor after specifically requesting one. People come to the Social Security Administration because they need help with important matters, and they deserve to be treated respectfully and given clear answers. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have had with a government office. I hope management at the Concord location reviews how situations like this are being handled and takes these complaints seriously.
