I had a positive experience at this location last week. I scheduled an appointment in advance and was able to fill out necessary paperwork online. My appointment time was at 9:20am. There was plenty of parking. I was directed through text to "check-in" online once I arrived on site and given a QR code to scan at the kiosk for my ticket number. When it was my turn, my ticket number appeared on the screen in the front of the room and I was also texted. Once I went to the window, I showed the necessary documents to the employee, she gave me a receipt and was told I would get my new social security card in 2 weeks. I was out in less than 5 minutes. Very easy. read more

1/5 -- Extremely Frustrating and Unacceptable Experience I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received at the Social Security office in Concord. I have been trying since the beginning of this year to get what should be simple documentation processed, and after multiple attempts, I still have not been able to get the help or resolution I need. Today, September 9, 2026, at approximately 9:57 AM, I specifically asked to speak with a supervisor because the issue has been going on for months. Instead of contacting the supervisor or explaining a clear process for speaking with one, I was repeatedly denied the opportunity. I even asked what I needed to do in order to speak with the supervisor, and they still would not call or notify the supervisor that I was requesting assistance. What made the experience even worse was the security guard on site today. The interaction was extremely rude and disrespectful at a time when I was simply trying to get assistance with an issue that has remained unresolved for most of the year. It is unacceptable that someone can spend months trying to resolve a documentation issue and still be unable to get meaningful assistance or even speak with a supervisor after specifically requesting one. People come to the Social Security Administration because they need help with important matters, and they deserve to be treated respectfully and given clear answers. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have had with a government office. I hope management at the Concord location reviews how situations like this are being handled and takes these complaints seriously. read more

TLDR: You are required to set up appointments for all visits now. After attempting to apply online (which didn't work) I happened to be in the area for the DMV so I figured I'd walk over as it's not stated anywhere online that you must have an appointment. When you get there the loud speaker announcement states they have appointments available within 5 days. I almost laughed because it's wildly inaccurate. I'd booked an appointment a few days before for the first one available - almost 3 weeks out. Even if you go by business days, it's not close to being accurate. Currently they'll let you sign in, get a number, wait for 30 minutes, then call your number, and at your window you'll be told to make an appointment and they'll refuse to help you further. It's absolutely bonkers and I've never seen anything like it. After I was told I could wait an additional 3-4 hours for the possibility of speaking with someone, I asked if like the DMV they could text me when someone can speak with me. No. No, they don't do that either. I left. I will say I ended up googling and found a great thread that talked about the different processes people have used to get into their non-working SSA accounts. I tried a few of them and was finally able to log in via IDme on an incognito window so I could download a statement of my account, which solved about half of what I needed. Overall, it was a pretty awful and extremely inefficient experience all around. Definitely would not recommend. read more

You guys waste peoples time. When I came the last time to get proof of my appointment etc I was told to bring my homeland security and whatever documents, ID etc. I let them know that my resident alien card was stolen and that WAS OKAY as long as I had papers from homeland security with the number etc. I have recieved a SS card from here before and even brought my married SS Card that I had recieved from here as well. When I asked for proof of my appointment to show my job you guys blacked out my SSN for what? Come today and the Asian lady tells me at window 8 I can't take your documents sat there for how long looking at the computer and when I handed her my stuff and my OLD social security from when I was married say I can't take none of these. I need your resident card. I told her I told them it was stolen when I made the appointment I am in the process of getting my citizenship I was just told since my father was a US Citizen and served in the navy I havr to file for my citizenship. In the process of this now then the lady was like I don't know if you're going to be approved. I was llike excuse me? She said oh I'm sorry I just need the card. They should of said that to me so I could pull it up online with the number and whatever expiration date she said she needed. You had me come here to waste my time and be rude about it. I've should of known better to come here because when my mother passed away I came here to give her death certificate and the Hispanic man who called my number told me I don't need to take that from you the mortorary will send all of that to us. Okay I was there with it reporting her death. Just a waste of time here read more

No appointments. And hire people that are kind and helpful. The ones you have don't deserve a paycheck.

Heads up, you now need appointments for everything. :/ Gone are the days you could conveniently swing in when you had time and get something handled easily. Which is what made the experience at this office so painless and easy. Not anymore. I came in this morning to follow up on an issue I came in here 3 weeks ago for. The lady called my number, asked why I'm here, asked if I had an appointment, and said I could make an appt or go back and sit down and 'maybe' they would call me. But she doesn't know when. All that just for her to click click and see if there's a note back from the previous employee who helped me? Nothing difficult. Just a yes or no answer. In the time it takes you to make me an appointment, you could look and tell me yes or no. What if I make an appointment just for you to say "oh I'm sorry I don't see anything." This appointment system is not efficient if they jam up the appointment schedule for people that have a very quick and easy thing. Appointments only further delay someone getting answers, someone getting paid, someone getting important documents that they need on life's terms, someone having to miss work they can't afford to do etc. I see them calling people and sending them away, because very few realize they need appointments now. Why on earth require appointments now? The structure was already fine. There's never been lines out the door, sitting here for hours etc. Thanks for making things harder for us regular folks just trying to get life situated. The lady who couldn't answer my question at window 19, never even called another person after me. The entire time til I had to leave without being helped. She Just sat there on her computer, like tf you even doing?! read more

Waited on hold for 90 minutes. The person who answered the phone was rude right off the bat and did not want me to explain my situation. The minute I said that he did not have to be rude he hung up on me. I guess they believe they have you hostage because you need their help and can speak to you anyway they want. I have news for you. I will pray for you it's not worth getting upset about. Have a blessed day! Just thought management may want to know how people are being treated. read more

Went in for an appointment, security guard was nasty! Cute but had a terrible attitude when It was time for my number to be called the speaker and tv system didn't announce it, so he called it and I went over to his desk thinking I needed to see him before going over to the window, thought it was routine, yet he stares at me when I told him that was my number, he then says "ok" and I ask him where do I go he points at the screen in a very rude and authoritarian voice "look at the screen" which I did and just walked away, once seated with the person that helped me things got way better, she was super nice and thanked me for asking how her day was, bet they don't hear that often therefore I try to be nice to all public and government officials, yet I got an entitled security who takes his job way too seriously and definitely didn't want to be there, sad but a reality when they feel they are above you because of the place they work at, hope his days are better for him and being kind and personable doesn't hurt. read more

Extremely incompetent stuff. rude and unprofessional. waisted time waiting al most an hour to hear that I need to make an appointment for something that was preciously done in 5 minutes . The person claimed to be a district manager Maria Dahghlian, accused me of being "offensive" after a said that previous employees was not able to answer the basics questions as not being trained for that ! I just asked why my social security payment wasn't adjusted over 2 months past the previous year when I was working full time. I am 72 years old and after short encounter with these people my blood pressure went up to 200. please be aware of a level of service this office provides Ismail Agates, Ph.D read more

Very organized, clean office with staff who are knowledgeable and happy to help. Definitely a 5 star experience!

Management needs to be fired. I recently got married and changed my last name. I went to the office to get a new social security card. I went to the check-in kiosk and it asked if I had an appointment, I said "no", it asked what I was here for, I selected "social security card". Then it gave me a number. I waited for 40 minutes, which was fine. When I got called up the employ told me that new rules meant that I couldn't do anything about my social security card without an appointment. He tried to make me an appointment but all of them are during normal work hours. I am a public school teacher and cannot show up between 9am-4pm on a normal day (the district gave us the day I showed up off). I have also tried to get an appointment in the past, but couldn't since it had you start the paperwork online, but didn't give me enough room to fill in all my middle names. I asked if I could get an appointment for summer when school is out, but that can't be made until 1 month in advance. So here we are. :( If I wasn't going to be able to get anything done, why didn't it say that when I checked in at the kiosk? Who ever decided that it is ok to wait only to be told that you need an appointment when you have all your information and a filled out paper application ready to go, needs to be fired. read more

I brought my 95 years old dad to the office because his date of birth was wrong on his SS record and on that day after waiting for almost 2 hours finally it was our turn and we had his driver license his SS card and his us passport with us and we told the lady why we are there for and she said we need his citizenship certificate I told her they issued his passport with his citizenship they are the same and she said no you need to come back. And we went home and the next day we came back with citizenship certificate and she did not even look at it and she just looked at the passport only and she fixed the birth date and we went home and we told the Medicare office it is been fixed and a week later they send us a letter it says they miss spelled his last name now and I went back without my dad because he was seek then. And the officer seething there he told me to get a # and he did not say now we just go by appointment and I was waiting for hour and half, and when I got to the window she said we just go by appointment now and I told her the what happened you guys maid a mistake on his name and she said you got make an appointment and I ask for supervisor and she said wait in waiting room he come to you there and I said I been waiting for hour and half already and supervisor called the officer to kick me out off her window and I waited in the waiting room for an other half hour but supervisor never showed up. And I left If any one knows where we can complain please let me know. Thanks. read more

I came in today 1-16-2025 with no appointment since my phone attempts had been (waiting for hours ) with no success. I was called to window 14 after waiting for30 mins which I thought was pretty good. But things started to quickly go down hill when this Asian looking staff ( didn't have an ID on her nor did she state her name) found out that I wanted to have my Medicare election change . She quickly said" we can't help you with that , that's Medicare !" I told her that I had called Medicare and the staff member told me to talk to Social Security. This staff started to look DISGUSTED at me ,saying " it is not us , I can't give you any future appointment " then she started to look at me from the top of my head down to my torso like she was dismissing me. She then stopped talking to me so I quickly got up. Shame on this miserable employee. She acted like she was dragged out of bed to work today. I hope someone in her future gives her the same horrible treatment. FYI ,not everyone who is in this office with Medicare issues is destitute, I have been a nurse for 32 years and retired that is why I was working on my Medicare coverage. read more
