I have been on Hold for over an hour to make a ride to Dr. Why? I am a senior low vision. Four calls on hold for 10 to 25 minutes and still on hold 30in as I type to You. I am a disabled person trying to get to a Doctor. Roundtrip is difficult every time. The digital record on my phone will show how many times I have to call with No Answer. It's exhausting on I ask for another business to take me to and from doctor etc. roundtrip is terrible . read more

We got married here. The people that worked here were amazing. Every call we made and everyone we talked to were so helpful and polite. We were all over the place and couldn't get it together. Theu treated us so nicely and we're very helpful. I wish I remember the main lady that helped us name. I think she was in window 7 and she wore a head wrap. She was such a pleasure to work with. She helped take then tention off and treated us so respectfully. We felt like we had a bond with her. How nice to go to a county place and have a memorial experience. read more

I finally decided to come to CCC Records office because researching online at home does not give you the image of the documents. I could not be sure if the documents are exactly what I wanted. I was very pleased with the service I received, specifically from William. He was polite, very responsive, helpful and patient with me. (He was probably biting his tongue to not say something hurtful or rude). Anyway, my effort in going there was so worth it. I should have experimented more in navigating their computer instead of getting frustrated. Now I know the quickest way to find specific documents in their database and get hard copies. Thank you much! read more

It takes months maybe longer to plan a large expensive wedding. What if you go ahead and do the formal stuff so as life changes your paperwork is in order and then later down the line you throw that big event? This is exactly the decision my son and his now wife made. They made the appointment online less than 1 week before. The rooms they offer and give you a choice of are really quite nice. Stained glass windows and flowers. Very private and larger than I expected. I believe the maximum people for the ceremony is 15 guests. We had 11 and we're not too close together at all. The woman who married them. She was fantastic! You could feel her genuine happiness for them and was great with the baby and let her be part of the ceremony. Also my daughter n laws great grandma is 103 years old and so of course they wanted her to sign as a witness. Being 103 and signing on a tiny line is hard. It took 3 reprints to get it right. And never did she lose patience. They whole thing was heartfelt and full of love. Didn't expect all that at a courthouse wedding!! Had I expected it I would not have tried to wear mascara. Lol Today there is one more Mrs. H! Which is great because I always totally screwed up spelling her maiden name! ;) read more

Thank you Lisa S. and the other ladies at the recorders office for making my visit so smooth and pleasant. Upon arriving at the Contra Costa County Clerk's office, I pull into their parking lot (free btw) and there's a sign outside indicating "Start Here" in front of a window to the side of the double doors. A pleasant lady greets me and ask what I needed. She tells me to come inside to enter my request on one of their computers. The computer system is easy to navigate. Once I submitted my request online, I get a ticket with a number. I only waited about 5 minutes before my number was called, and I go to the appropriate window, where I met Lisa S. She asked for my ID, and when she noticed that my birthday had just passed, she wishes me a happy belated birthday. I pay for the documents and she wishes me a nice weekend as I leave. I've never met such a pleasant staff at any government office before. The DMV could take some lessons from this office. My only qualm is having to use a shared computer that's used by many others. They have a couple of hand sanitizer stations in the waiting area though. read more

Got our wedding license, it was easy, quick and efficient. The online form was easy and quick as well, which made the office visit a breeze read more

Just went down there this morning, the team there could not have been more helpful and more friendly, thank you for what you do.

Office is clean. Personnel are all helpful and friendly. I've only come here twice, to apply for marriage license and to pick up marriage certificate. Both times was pretty quick. Took less than 30 minutes. I've also called a couple times for clarification and I was never on hold for too long and person on the phone were always helpful. read more

Everyone is so nice here. I've been here a few times. Mostly for birth certificates, and of course a marriage certificate for my recent marriage. The process for marriage is started online. You could probably come down to the office and start the process but its really easy from the comfort of your own home. We filled out our license and booked the civil ceremony all in one online session. There are two rooms to get married in. They are very simple and nice. It was big enough for all four of our kids and my husbands family to attend. The service is simple and to the point. We were very happy with our decision to be married here. If you're looking for simple I would highly recommend a ceremony here. read more

The honey and I had planned to be married in June of 2020, followed by a month long trip to Europe, you can probably guess how that went. We've been holding off until we could have a big event, however with Delta, and now Omicron that just didn't seem like that would happen anytime soon, thus enter in the Contra Costa County Clerk's office. Because it was going to be a courthouse wedding, It didn't really make sense to have my mother's long wedding dress tailored so instead I went for a vintage cream 60's Jackie-esque dress and hat with veil. It was incredibly easy to make an appointment and fill out a marriage license online. Once we'd signed in at the window outside, they gave us a number and we moved into the smallish lobby. After waiting about 15-20 minutes my now-husband and I were called in. And after signing all the documents and taking our oaths, we moved, with our photographer and witness, into the very sweetly decorated room for the ceremony. From start to finish the process was very easy and pain free. Copies of the certificate were $19, but go up to $21 in the new year and the space also has a really pretty parklet with cute couples seat for photos next door. I highly recommend this location if you, like me, end up doing a courthouse wedding due to Covid and want a little more pomp with your circumstance. read more

I had a very pleasant experience with Christine @ CCCO clerks office. We went in for our marriage license and was greeted by Jamel (?) and he pointed us in Christine's direction. She seemed so excited for us that I mad comment. 2 weeks later had to go in to get certified copied, again Christine was so nice. Asking about our honeymoon etc. Too bad the DMV, IRS and may other government office aren't like CCCO clerks office! read more

After 11 years and two babies, we tied the knot! With our crazy busy schedules, we both just wanted to elope and plan a celebration after the fact. After a super long day of work, and about 30 minutes before closing, my then boyfriend says, "let's go do this!" I agreed, we loaded up the girls, and headed to the County Clerk's office. I honestly thought they would turn us away for walking in MINUTES (4 to be exact!) before closing time, but they didn't. They happily welcomed us, got us started with paperwork on the computer, and even helped find a "witness" for us. Every single person we encountered was super kind and helpful. They don't operate like your typical government run office building. They act like a private business that legitimately cares about their people and their experiences. Seriously, I wish I could give them more stars!! read more

Contra Costa County Clerk - Eloped! - Public Services & Government Near Me - Martinez, California

Dropped off ballots. No problem. Arrived at 4:29 and was able to run in and put my ballot in a box inside.

We had an appointment during covid-19. Since everyone was doing virtual weddings, it was hard to find appointment in most of the counties. Contra costa county was very generous to give us an in-person appointment, even though none of us were residents of the county. Abims was very nice and helpful. He communicated really well, he booked an appointment within a week. On our wedding day, we were impressed by the efficiency of the employees. We had to apply for marriage license and have a ceremony on same day. We were in and out in 30 mins with 2 marriage certificates. I have heard negative and sluggish things about other counties, but Contra Costa stands out. They are friendly and very efficient in their work. I wan to thank abims for his wonderful support! :) read more

Wow! I assumed going here would be as bad as going to the DMV. It was a 180 degree difference. I love the concept with the window outside. The woman who helped me there was so friendly, enthusiastic, and smart. I watched her help so many people with a smile everytime. She knew how to answer any question, even attempted to speak Spanish to some folks who had trouble with English. I was in and out and finished in about 20 minutes. I was so impressed With the lady at the window that I would have given her a tip if that was allowed. I hope she is paid well. Now why can't the people at the DMV learn from this place. read more

Jac C and I visited the Contra Costa County Clerk on Friday to apply for our marriage license. There are only a handful of visitor parking spots in their lot but ample street parking on Castro, next to the building. Street parking will run you a very reasonable 25¢ per 30 minutes. They are open from 8:00 - 4:30 but get there by 4 for a marriage license. You can print out the application and fill it in at home to expedite the process. We were in and out in no more than 15 minutes. The staff were nice and concisely provided all the necessary information. A marriage license will run you $85. I recommend bringing cash because Wells Fargo and Bank of America debit cards are currently not working with their system. We officially have Contra Costa County's stamp of approval to get married! read more

My husband and I recently stopped in here to renew my notary commission. The final steps were to file my bond with the County Clerk-Recorder, and swear my oath. During the same visit, I also requested two certified copies of our marriage license. The entire process was very fast. The short line at the front desk moved quickly and we were given a number that directed us to the correct window when it was called. The wait wasn't long and the woman at the window was very helpful. There is an extra fee to pay for service with a credit or debit card ($2.50), but they do accept checks so this can be avoided. Fees were reasonable and similar to the fees in most counties. They also have a great website that's easy to navigate to find directions/hours. read more

Literally the best government agency office I have been to. Professional and very efficient. In and out in less than 10 minutes. Why can't all court houses and recorders offices be like this? If only all the county offices provided such cool, fun employees as this one!! The time has come! Our wedding is just less than 2 weeks away! Which means.... its gettin official!! I am about to be stamped as a married woman!! Well, thankfully Contra Costa County Clerk office, made this experience easy and enjoyable. Simple, simple, simple it was. Being most people work during the week, the County Clerk office graciously, provides hours up till 8:00 p.m on Thursday nights for us folks that work the 9-5 schedule. My honey and I headed over here after work, anticipating that there would be this tumultuous line, with a bunch of robotic, lifeless employees directing us what line to stand in and what to do....boy, were we wrong! As soon as I entered, I was easily welcomed by a clerk of what to do and how to get started. I arrived early and was still waiting for my honey to arrive, so I was able to get the process started before hand. And, low and behold, there was NO line!! Zero, zip, nada! Just a few other soon to be hitched folks such as ourselves :) Oh, and not to mention the place is quite immaculately clean :) My honey than arrived. We got our ticket and waited in the two person line and were quickly assisted. I can't recall the lady's name who swore us in and completed all our paper work to just about officialize us, be she was such a doll!!! Cheerful, sweet, and just so charming!! And just like that, it was done! Now wedding time!! Thank you, County Clerk Office, for making this potentially dreadful task, into one enjoyable, memorable experience! read more

I call on public sector for a living. Most of my experience has been with the State of Ca and various counties in so cal. I have seen first hand the inefficiencies of our "local government at work". I had dreaded this day for so long! I even took PTO to brace for the long day! I was pleasantly amazed at how easy and efficient the vital records dept. provided help and support. I was in and out in 20 minutes to get original docs copied on county paper. I've dealt professionally with counties where this process can take hours if not days! Efficient is only 25% of my review. The staff was friendly, helpful. Patient, and frankly,g et the idea of serving the public that pays their Salaries. I'm willing to say, they were happy and excited to meet and greet me! The office is modern clean. Process is streamlined and efficient as well as acceptable to all types aka non English speaking disabled elderly. I was able to use my phone to scan docs to folks in my family who needed them sitting in their general public waiting area. All they staff spoke said hello and a couple asked if they could be of assistance... That's after I was done. I suppose the two rows of PCs in the comments n area were for folks to access the intent because there was no wifi my only issue. But hey I can leave find a 4 bucks sip a refreshment and get wifi cause now, I have plenty of time! I don't like to pay taxes, but I am a happy citizen who sees the value of a well run county. CC is working it! read more

I have made several request for your office to stop listening Dallin LLC as the owner of my property 1817 Chanslor Ave,  Richmond CA 94801 even enlight of the last lien release dated December 16, 2017 from the garbage company which states that I am the legal owner of this property. It is my belief that Dallin LLC and the county clerk's office are partners in real estate fraud, why wont your office remove the fraudulent documents off of my property when your office knows that I am the legal owner?. Please remove these fraudulent documents ASAP.  You have been collecting rent on a house for last three plus years and should enough money by now. I want my house back. So I'm going on a trip and taking the le petite monster, and I'm told I need her birth certificate to prove she's an infant. Can't you just look at her? No teeth, can't walk, drinks from bottles...oh wait, that describes adults too. So I go into my trusty file cabinet and I can't find it. What? Where is it? Ooooh, we were never sent one. So I haul myself and le petite monster to Martinez, expecting a DMV experience. I was so wrong. Free parking, pleasant help, quick service. In and out in 15 minutes. Took me longer to drive there. Expensive at 31 dollars per copy, but same day service saves the day. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased that it was so incredibly painless. Well done, county clerk. read more

It's been a breeze everytime I've gone, which is a relief. I preprint the forms I need off the website which saves me time and headache. Parking is ample. Get a number, wait a short wait, and I've been in & out in under 20min both times. First time to apply for the marriage license ($85 for nothing really IMO) and then the 2nd time to get 2 copies ($17/ea!) but it's been painless both times. The one hiccup came when my now husband went into turn in our completed marriage license. He took it in the Monday after our wedding and found out that because the officiant misspelled Geyserville and tried to correct it on the form, it causes a whole slew of issues that are annoying. But they stress it to you when you first apply for the license so i am not surprised. He went in, paid $20 to fix and signed an affidavit, now it's all good and we have a copy of the certificate. It's pretty awesome how easy the whole thing has been with big thanks to the CCC Clerks Office, thanks for everything!! read more

Best public office experience I have ever had. I put off obtaining my son's birth certificate (to have on file) for 2.5 years. Last week I decided to deal with some of the outstanding items on my to-do list and this task was selected. Contra Coast County Clerk has got it going on! Easy to find - Check Easy parking - Check Clean - Check Fast - Check Friendly - Check Informative - Check What more could you ask for?? I arrived around 1pm on a Thursday. Pulled into the lot and easily found a parking spot. The signage on the building/door was clear and direct. I walked in and was helped immediately and provided excellent information in a friendly manner. They are nearly paperless which is awesome! I was directed to an ipad where I filled out the birth certificate form, which took me about five minutes to completed. As soon as I was done the nice woman printed me a "receipt" similar to what you get at the DMV. My number was called at the exact time that I read what the number was. I went to the window which included verifying my identity, payment and being provided the birth certificate which took about 7 minutes. I thanked them for their assistance and was on my way. I am in a state of shock that it took me less than 20 minutes to take care of this long awaited task. read more

Well I had to go to the clerks office today to get commissioned and bonded for my notary. I got there around 12 in the afternoon and I waited for almost an hour before I was helped. The girl that helped me was very friendly and made my experience much more pleasurable then it was before I got up to the counter. Still the wait was ridicules and hopefully next time I need to go I will try and go at a different time. I'm thinking going at lunch time was a bad idea. read more

Great experience, there was no line so it was a breeze applying for our business name. One less star for the agent Vera, she was very rude and mean. When we came in, she and the other lady gave me the paperwork and I said thank you and they both started laughing like mocking me. But we didn't pay attention to them. I was asking a lot of questions since Vera is the alleged "customer service agent" and just because I missed to put my name after I signed, she asked me sarcastically if I can't read it. Like seriously? If you are not happy about your job then leave! Isn't that part of your job to be nice to people???? I hope you can read this! read more

NOT THE DMV! Great experience! When would you ever think a county or state agency is efficient and pleasant? Seriously, this office has its act together!
