Someone added an address to the listing for the City of Dixon. That is the address to Dixon City Hall. I couldn't get the address removed, so I changed the name of the listing to Dixon City Hall. Apologies if this is a little confusing. The hall itself is pretty cool. I visited when everyone got all worked up about the mayor and his straight people pride nonsense. It's located right next to a ginormous park, Hall Park, which should be used more often but it's in Dixon so it's not. Think I paid a bill here at some point. Quite by chance, was having a salad, ended up getting invited to come see Dixon CA. Person also lunching said - "be sure to see the yelp place" that's for "City of Dixon" and look, here it is! The point: chatting with a new friend is wonderful but also they live in DIXON! Well - that gave us plenty to chat about as we devoured our excellent G Street Café salads. (See how we did that?) I said how I enjoyed seeing the 1,000's of Sunflowers - acres and acres of sunflowers along I-80 - last time I traveled by Davis and Dixon on 80. I had passed by 100's of times, had seen hand painted signs, but never went in. Dixon, she says, might have some Mexican food or produce stands that would amaze and surprise me! I said I never like to miss Yolo Fruit Stand and she said - "This is even better". Well - I was not fishing for an invitation, honest!!! But the person did invite me so I will be in Dixon this coming weekend - or if their kids plan to go rafting - maybe after that. We each gave our cell phone numbers; don't you worry, soon I will be reviewing my visit to DIXON CA! In the meantime, I want to compliment DIXON Five Stars on Yelp on the incredible Sunflower Fields that go on and on and on passing on the I-80. Last time I travelled, it was such a sweet sight and soon I'll be able to get a close up look, have some lunch, coffee, dinner, see sunflower fields, whatever! Five Stars for discovering places I never knew were great, I guess like Dixon. We'll see!! read more

Moved here in 1989 when there was one grocery store and just a handful of other businesses. I have lived here most of my life, with exception to a couple of years, and Im proud to say this is where I come from. Dixon will always be my home. I love the people here and it is a beautiful place to be with great weather. However, Dixon is not what it once was. Unfortunately, you really cant live here unless you can afford to buy a $400+k home or move in with family. Theres not much thats affordable or even to rent anymore, which keeps the working class out. Also, for some reason, 90% of the police and positions of power are all employed by white men. Enthic diversity is often under represented here, which is a shame. When tragic events have happened here, specifically with children, it is often swept under the rug. Politically, it remains to be the "good ol boy" network. All of these things need to be looked at and carefully considered. read more

I love the city of Dixon and am most impressed with the folks at City Hall. The one who stands out the most is Melvin who works in the building department. I sell real estate and needed some plans on a house to make sure to best protect clients. Melvin was very patient with all of my questions, calls, and requests for plans for the house. He went above the standard that we encounter on a regular basis. The other folks in the office are nice and helpful too, but Melvin helped us all so much. Thank you Melvin and City Hall! read more

I was looking on moving from vacaville to this small little patriotic town. I do think they have great food and the community is so small and very nice. lately it seems to be growing new houses like vacaville and that is just bringing it down. so we decided to look elsewhere. I have a lot of friends who live out there and have also been thinking about moving they say the country feel lsnt the same. and it is getting overcrowded. this is something that is also happening in winters. just heartbreaking read more

A city that few have ever heard of or ever been too. It's a small quite town that is usually known their vast amounts of fast food joints and gas stations, but to us locals it's home. It's a unique town in many ways. It offers an abundance of various taquerias and it's also starting to have many restaurant options. To those visiting a must try are firehouse bistro and my favorite buds. So to those passing by try to visit some of those places. read more
