I arrived around 1:10pm, and the older white male security guard checked the couple in front of me without issue. However, when I walked up and said, "I have an appointment for her" (I had my child with me), he took huge issue with that and said angrily, "Is she going in alone?" and I responded "No" and he said, "Well, then you should say 'I have an appointment'" in a very rude and loud tone. I felt extremely targeted. I do not know if it is because I am a young woman or because I'm Asian, but his treatment towards me was so different from how he treated the man and woman in front of me. I do not know exactly how I could have offended him by saying "I have an appointment for her", clearly in reference to my child who was with me, but it felt like my very existence was offensive to him. I felt on edge and unsafe the entire time I was there due to my experience with this rude and belligerent security guard. He should be fired, or at the very least given sensitivity training. Why treat a young mother with a 1 year old as if she is the crap on the bottom of your shoe? What exactly did I do to warrant such an angry reaction? I am so disappointed with my experience here due to the security guard who seems like he bullies people who he deems weak just for the fun of it. I have submitted a feedback form to Social Security about my experience with him.

From Daniel who was in the office Thursday afternoon to "Micki" (?) on the phone Thursday afternoon to Ken the supervisor to the lady working the front counter on Monday morning, to whoever was answering my zillions of panicked emails and comments on their website, everyone was so understanding, helpful, and efficient. This was problematic as I am eligible for a tax credit. Because of the incorrect name, they could not revise my property tax bill. I was advised to pay the incorrect amount under the old property owners name and I would eventually get a credit back for the amount I over paid. I was not happy but I did it. Almost 10 months went by from my purchase date, and they finally corrected the name, but have still not adjusted the property tax due, and cannot find the two emails I sent to them with the completed paperwork for the exemption. They have further stated that I might need to continue paying the incorrect property tax, because they have not processed anything. Glenn Zook, the Assessor recording leaves a very nice voice mail message about his staff providing excellent customer service. I beg to differ and would love to have a conversation about their customer service.

In the short time I was here I saw water coolers, weed eaters, several office chairs, LOTS of laptops and computers, keyboards, desks, bookshelves...and so much more that listing it all just isn't possible! A note about the computers/laptops - they are in good used condition, but have been "wiped" of all programming and would require purchasing new software that would normally be included in new computers. If you're looking for office supplies like I was today, stop in here for awesome deals on many gently used things. Considering the assortment of items, the interior is well organized and easy to navigate. They're only open on Fridays from 10-4, so mark your calendar and bring a truck.

TLDR: You are required to set up appointments for all visits now…read more After attempting to apply online (which didn't work) I happened to be in the area for the DMV so I figured I'd walk over as it's not stated anywhere online that you must have an appointment. When you get there the loud speaker announcement states they have appointments available within 5 days. I almost laughed because it's wildly inaccurate. I'd booked an appointment a few days before for the first one available - almost 3 weeks out. Even if you go by business days, it's not close to being accurate. Currently they'll let you sign in, get a number, wait for 30 minutes, then call your number, and at your window you'll be told to make an appointment and they'll refuse to help you further. It's absolutely bonkers and I've never seen anything like it. After I was told I could wait an additional 3-4 hours for the possibility of speaking with someone, I asked if like the DMV they could text me when someone can speak with me. No. No, they don't do that either. I left. I will say I ended up googling and found a great thread that talked about the different processes people have used to get into their non-working SSA accounts. I tried a few of them and was finally able to log in via IDme on an incognito window so I could download a statement of my account, which solved about half of what I needed. Overall, it was a pretty awful and extremely inefficient experience all around. Definitely would not recommend.

I had to go in today to file my divorce papers. If they weren't already filled out and ready, I think the process would have been more stressful. I got there at 8:45 and had started filing with the clerk before 9am. She was very nice and even complimented me on my paperwork. I was walking back to my car by 9:45am. When I got in line, there were only 3 people in front of me. When I walked out, there were at least 15 people in line. When people say "get there as early" they mean it. If you're going to file for divorce, have them filled out before you go or go directly to the family law facilitator. As my divorce has literally just started, I will update my review as I go through the process.

I left feeling that my relationship with my son was significantly reduced despite my willingness to continue being a committed, responsible parent. Throughout the proceedings, I repeatedly heard decisions being made in "the best interest of the child." As a father, I struggle to understand how limiting a loving, capable father's time with his child serves that goal. From my perspective, the family court system gives judges tremendous discretion, and it feels like there is very little accountability when parents believe a decision is unjust. This review reflects my personal experience in this court. I hope the system continues to improve and places greater emphasis on preserving strong relationships between children and both loving parents whenever it is safe and appropriate.
