I went to the Suisun City, CA social security office on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025 for an appointment at 1:20pm. I arrived around 1:10pm, and the older white male security guard checked the couple in front of me without issue. However, when I walked up and said, "I have an appointment for her" (I had my child with me), he took huge issue with that and said angrily, "Is she going in alone?" and I responded "No" and he said, "Well, then you should say 'I have an appointment'" in a very rude and loud tone. I felt extremely targeted. I do not know if it is because I am a young woman or because I'm Asian, but his treatment towards me was so different from how he treated the man and woman in front of me. I do not know exactly how I could have offended him by saying "I have an appointment for her", clearly in reference to my child who was with me, but it felt like my very existence was offensive to him. I felt on edge and unsafe the entire time I was there due to my experience with this rude and belligerent security guard. He should be fired, or at the very least given sensitivity training. Why treat a young mother with a 1 year old as if she is the crap on the bottom of your shoe? What exactly did I do to warrant such an angry reaction? I am so disappointed with my experience here due to the security guard who seems like he bullies people who he deems weak just for the fun of it. I've been here pretty often this past year. The 6 times I've visited I did not make an appointment. I've been able to see a representative in less than an hour. Each person I saw was helpful and provided the information I needed. I've been going in person bc I want an immediate answer to most of my questions and I have time. I recommend going after lunch. When I went in the morning there were more people. Don't bring in any sharp objects or pepper spray bc you have to put it back in your car. read more

Staff/workers were very kind, helpful, and punctual. My only complaint is that I couldn't bring my energy drink in the room and there wasn't a sign outside the door saying that opened drinks weren't allowed (there was a sign inside the room though). SS has been taking my money for Medicare that I never requested or signed up for. They have ripped me off for 3 months now. The rep I spoke to said to mail in the form CMS 1763. I did that on 10/6/23 and they still took money from me today! This made me have to go into their office and ask what the f is going on. The rep said another form is required now even though the other one I mailed in was received! The form I submitted today was Form SSA-561-U2. This one was a Request for Consideration. WTH? They stole my money and now I have to request it back! So f'd up! I know without a shadow of a doubt that the employees they hire have no education or experience otherwise they wouldn't just steal from me when it was verified today that I never asked for Medicare. This place needs some improvements. The entrance is somewhat difficult to find, but this is okay. The office space is not spacious enough to accommodate the growing number of customers. This is still okay. It took me about a year to get my benefit eligibility resolved. Next time I will have to go to Social Security Office, I will try some other location. Lately I took my wife and she had a 08:55 appointment. But even before it was opened, there was a long line of wich tail went one floor down, making new arrivals exiting an elevator to walk down the stairs to join the slow line. My experience was horrible. The incompetence and lack of care was horrible. Since the letter I received had a dollar amount I filed a waiver and reconsideration of overpayment. I provided proof of my inability to pay. However because of the amount of disability I received from my employer I was snubbed and my claim was denied and I was told I should have known I was overpaid. l presented the correct information they computed my benefits I can't understand how I'm expected to know they were wrong, I'm not the expert. I reqested proof of computation of overpayment amount numerous times with no success. I filed an appeal it took over 7 years and when I went to my hearing the judge didn't know how they arrived at the overpayment either and was to contact me in 3 months so the 4th month I contacted the judge and she never received a response back. However she agreed however agreed it was not my fault. Asked me to fill out another reconsideration. She made a partial ruling and remanded my case back to this office. I filed for an administrative appeal it's 10 years later and no response but they stopped my payments even though the judge requested they withhold $50 monthly. Each time I submit documents to reflect my income change nothing happens. Every three years I get a letter saying they under or overpaid me. I never met so many incompetent people in one agency. Make sure you make copies of ALL documents you give them. I was told they don't keep them. If you're waiting for an appeal and its been years I've learned a stack of documents were found on top of a file cabinet that were years old. They were located during a move. I'm sure that's part of my delay. I witnessed a trainee and her coach place my documents in an unassigned desk used to see clients that dropped in SS and the trainee telling her coach shouldn't she file my paperwork at her desk. Her coach insisted it was okay to leave it there. I contacted SS over a 6 year period asking about my appeal. I was told I had my appeal, they're running 2 years behind, they don't show I filed an appeal. I asked why are they taking money from me and I haven't had an appeal and they can't prove how they arrived at the computation? Payments resumed however over $6k of underpayment to me were kept. This goes on in all the offices. The staff is not adequately trained, people that can't perform the job is retained and our tax dollars support a system that holds is accountable for its deficiencies. read more

I am very disappointed in this office. I went there on Tuesday of this week, and dropped off paperwork for my grandson's SSI. They lost the paperwork! What? I know what time I was there, the computer log in tells you "Put in the social security number even if the visit is for someone else". Ok, I did. I waited for approximately 23 minutes until I was called up to window 8. The woman never introduced myself. I gave her the paperwork that my daughter requested me to. She made copies of everything (which had my grandson's ss number on each and every piece) and placed them into a SS folder for me. I asked if there was a receipt of some type and she stated "No". Ok, so I told her that I would keep my number ticket as proof. She thought that was a good idea. Since then, my daughter has been on the telephone with them since Wednesday morning. First they claim, they didn't receive the paperwork. So I explained to my daughter what the woman looked like to a "T". One worker told her on the phone, that when they receive documents, it is to be entered into the computer right then and there. I have done this twice for my daughter since I live closer than she does. (They have NEVER INPUTTED ANYTHING INTO THE COMPUTER AS I WAS SITTING THERE!) Then they said they would get back to her, yeah right! Today, she called AGAIN. The person on the phone informed my daughter she has a case worker. WHAT?!?! They have NEVER informed her of this! She was told she would only have a "Intake" worker. The have consistently loosing paperwork, giving the wrong fax number for over a year! (My daughter verified this fax number with them NUMEROUS times). A worker this morning told her that she didn't have time to stay on the phone with her because she has other appointments. WHAT?! Bad case management. My daughter now has to wait until her annual recent appointment to get this taken care of. What?!?! My daughter is on top of everything especially since my grandson was born with Spinabifida and clubbed feet. She knows the importance of anything SSI requests. Why is it, when they need something, they need it yesterday? But when you need to report something or submit something THEY REQUESTED, they either act like they didn't receive it or they take their time to process it or even call a person back?! Again bad case management! If this is what we all have to look forward to, we are all in big trouble my people!!! read more

I went to the Social Security office without an appointment on my only day off during the week to change my name on social security from having been recently married. It was not possible for me to schedule an appointment due to constant change in my work schedule. I took a chance and arrived 30 minutes before they opened on a Wednesday. At 8:30 am I arrive to find 22 other people with the same idea of getting there early. I told myself right then it would be a half day event, also due to the fact they are only open half a day on Wednesday. I accepted what was, and put my headsets on and commenced waiting for the doors to open, stand in line, take a number, and be at the mercy of those who would just treat me like another number and prayed I would at least be taken care of before they closed. Soon the doors opened, I found myself in line and was greeted by the nicest and friendliest Guard I had ever encountered. He gave instructions to the line of people and maintained a pleasant and friendly attitude to each of us as we approached him. He would inquire each of us as we got to him of our needs, and would turn to share that information with another employee who was at a machine ready to data input our social security number and hand us a number. I couldn't even listen to an entire song on my phone as the line went thru so fast. As I approached the Guard and shared I was there to change my name, he literally pulls a form out of his Uniform pocket and the page turned to the area I needed to fill out. I got my number and sat down to fill out the form which took me all of 5 minutes. I waited 5 more minutes and my number was called by yet another very nice employee. I get to her desk, show her my marriage license and viola! She did what she needed to do and I was done! From door to line, from number to filling out form, to being processed I was done in 20 minutes and on my way! I cannot tell you how taken aback I was to have been treated with dignity and care, with respect and courtesy that is non-existent in my everyday life with customer service that is unheard of these days! Thank you to all who work at the Suisun City Social Security office! Every business in Northern California that deal with the general populace need to take a few training courses from you all! I've needed to visit this Social Security Office Rn person twice, both time without an appointment. The first visit I was lucky, no crowd and I was seen in minutes. Today was my second visit with no appointment. I walked in and the waiting area was packed. I was greeted by the security guard and he assisted me with the electronic check in. I sat near the front because I'm nearly deaf and when my number was called the guard remembered my number and directed me to the appropriate window. I ended up at two separate windows today where both of the clerks were polite, friendly and very helpful. I was in and out of the office with my questions answered, my concern resolved and tax documents I needed in less than half an hour. Both of my visits to this office have been perfect in all regards. The management and their team at this office do an excellent job. Considering my first visit was on a Monday and today's visit was on a Friday the pleasant experience I had means even more. The rest of the government offices, both state and federal could learn a lot from the employees at this office. read more

Hands down the easiest thing I've done since getting married just recently. I work in vallejo and had the option of going to their location but from references heard it was AWEFUL and the people working there are flat out RUDE! I did some research and found that a social security office is in Suisun and right by my house! Literally right downtown! The location kind of sucks, a bit difficult to find, but now that I know where it is it's super easy. Basically shares the building with cast iron. Walk right out back of Cast Iron and boom on your right! I came in just now, on a Friday afternoon, expecting it to be the devil aka DMV wait times. Boy was I wrong! The service is great from the moment you walk in. A super friendly security guard checked my purse, congratulated me on being newly married and directed me to a machine to answer a few questions. Got my ticket at 1:37pm and was out of there by 2:00pm. No joke, the nicest people I've come across in a while! Not sure why others have had a bad experience with customer service.. Cause these people were great! Ps, a woman with 3 kids and a new baby was on her way out and the security guard stopped them to offer them Despicable Me stickers! How cute is that! This is the worst government office I have ever had to deal with. You get a number but they do not even call them in order so really what's the point? I have been here for hours to simply turn in an application for a duplicate social security card. If I hadn't convinced myself an hour ago that I had to be soon I would have already googled the next closest office or driven to Santa Rosa or even San Francisco where you know where you stand because they actually call the numbers in order. Maybe they just can't count that high. My advice go somewhere else to get anything you need done by the social security department. read more

Not my first visit.. But today had to be the worst. i took my kids 15 and 16 we needed to get a replacement card for them since i adopted them. the security guard was great really nice. when my number got called the women at window 2 ROSA did not even look at us. I sat down took everything out of my envelope and looked at her and then she still didnt look at us. my son looked at me an then made sure we were at the right window. and i said to her hi we need his social, still no eye contact and said ADAM. YES! give me your ID.. he then said i dont have one she said well how old are you he stated 15 and she said well a birth certificate wont work so go to DMV and pay the 25 and then you can come back. she then looked at her computer again. i looked up and seen that window 3 ELSA called my daughter and i told her to go to the window and the lady there told her to file out the paperwork and she would call her back. i told her oh no i have it already filled out. she ignored me and called another number. i then waited for her to be done with her customer and then i said i have it can she be seen. she said I ALREADY CALLED HER AND I WILL CALL HER AGAIN, i then stated to her but she can just give it to you and we can finish it up. I ALREADY TOLD YOU I CALLED HER NUMBER AND I W I L L C A L L H E R B ACK W H E N R E ADY. like as if i was stupid. I felt like those two are lazy and have no customer service skills and hate their job so much and feel like they have a power trip. as we waited i seen two more people go up to there window and leave upset. they then called us to window 6 and wow what a difference she was all smiles said hi and said go ahead and have a seat. then she said are you here for a renewal ssn. yes! after she was don't she then turned and said can i help with anything else. i told her about complaint she said to talk to the security guard to get a form. but guess what all the english ones where out. because too many people complain about them. and i can tell the security guard doesn't like them much either. as soon as i asked there names he gave me a look and said ROSA AN ELSA and then said better speak to a supervisor. i told him i had to get my daughter off to work but thanks read more

I've delt with this location for over 10 years. There's some who do their job & are kind & a handful who act as if the benefits are coming from them personally. First, your rushed at the window. I have friends who have faught for this country & they have to prove them selves to the fullest for their benefits or are denied before being approved. Most cpa's & others at the window don't like to give stamped copies of papers & have lost papers as well, especially for Appeals/claims. Make your copies. This office also fails to provide DDS reports to claims/Appeals, delaying your time to respond. Manager A. Williams, hides in the back & refuses to assist most of the time with complaints or concerns. Instead your told she's not there or busy. She's also known to stop benefits without notice. Totally violating the due process. There's also the issue of giving the public POM info, when requested at this location. They don't return calls in a timely manner when you leave messages or at all. In my honest opinion, the office needs to be audited by the General Attorney & others for their conduct with the public & some need to be replaced or relocated. Their too comfortable. These facts are not to offend nor attack, just to assist with making this a better location/experience. I know of other locations that assist the public professionally. The Suisun City office needs more training on the rights of the public. The security guys have always been respectful & kind, I agree! read more
