    Molcajete, regular michelada
    Rachel T.

Delicious, fairly priced, fuss free. There's a self serve chips, salsa, fruit, and escabeche bar. Nice big sunny outdoor patio with two TVs. Outdoor bar. Service is attentive and not fussy. They have the perfect level of availability and ease. This is the kind of place you want to sit back, relax, and take your time enjoying the meal in nice weather. We ordered modelo micheladas, and shared a molcajete. The molcajete is hefty I think it's a great appetizer for 2-3 people depending on how hungry you are.

Sol Taqueria is a neighborhood gem! Living nearby, I've passed by countless times yet never really noticed the place. Scrolling through Yelp, I found a companion who was intrigued, and we decided to check it out. First off, this is such a nice little restaurant. Aside from a couple of tables outside in the front, they have an extensive back patio. Lots of thought went into it! Plenty of tables outside for parties of varying sizes, a bar, and cute decor. Inside, there's also nice seating, a self-serve chips and salsa bar, self-serve water, and a cute atmosphere. Who doesn't love free chips and salsa! Also, a bonus for being super dog-friendly with kind and quick service. Companion and I both got our own dishes. You order and pay at the counter, and they bring it out to you. I had the Taco Plate with carnitas and al pastor as my protein. He got the Two-Item Combination plate with a chicken tamale and a birria enchilada. My tacos were good, the meat was flavorful and nicely cooked, and the tortillas were yum and didn't break. The rice and beans were just fine; I got mine without cheese. He enjoyed his combo plate, and the bite of his tamale was good. I also got a horchata which was okay, a bit grainy. For the price, portions were comparable! If you're in the neighborhood, Sol Taqueria is a must-visit for family dinners, hanging with friends, or a casual date. It's a very chill atmosphere with decent food and good service! Find them off San Pablo Ave. with metered and residential parking nearby.

Great place to take tourists who prefer milder Mexican food and a fun atmosphere. Drinks were good but very sweet.

The food was excellent, most especially the Molajete. The drinks were delicious although I preferred the traditional margarita to the Chimirita. The service was OUTSTANDING. I felt like I had gone to a friends house and was treated hospitable. The space was chilly, but I should have planned ahead People kept leaving the door open; by people I mean those who came to pickup delivery orders. I thought about considering this a restaurant I would classify as takeout, however the Molojate and service are dining in for. There was street parking.

WOW WOW WOW! Amazing food and excellent customer service! Ventured out the east bay while family was in town and decided on this place for dinner and it did not disappoint. Order at the counter and pick a seat. We sat in the backyard area with the heaters. Self serve chips and salsa 10/10! The green salsa was probably the best one. Our food came out perfect and hot! Double miche was delicious and hit the spot. My mom got the milanesa torta, my sister got the super carne asada quesadilla, my boyfriend had the quesabirria tacos and I had the camarones a la diabla. Everything was so tasty! I would definitely recommend coming here and giving them a try and ring the bell on your way out! They will not disappoint!

Street parking but it wasn't so bad. Staff was really friendly and patient. Lots of food for the combos and good value. Lots of seating in the enclosed back patio. The food is good and worth the try.

Just came here for the first time and I really liked it. Service was pretty quick and employees were very nice. Food was also good, I ordered a regular burrito with chicken. Overall restaurant appearance was great. There's an inside where it feels like a general taqueria, the outside dining feels like a little garden.

This will probably become one of my go-to local restaurants. There is no shortage of Mexican cuisine in the area but WOW. My friend and I split two plates and each were amazing. We had never had "huarache" before. Went with "carnitas". Tender, juicy, and flavorful. 3 different sauces lined up. We also got a "Chile con queso" tamale. It wasn't a tamalito; it was a tamalon! The masa was perfect. They have an old school salsa bar and make fresh chips for you to munch on while you wait for your food to be made fresh. Love the back patio! Spacious and colorful. The staff was A+. Will be returning to work my way through that menu!

    Super Burrito ~ Chicken
    Gina G.

First time at Sol Taqueria and unfortunately they were still working on the outdoor space, so looking forward to coming back for the patio seating! Until then, we enjoyed the juicy chicken super burrito, flavorful and wallet friendly tacos (they have a great Taco Tuesday special FYI), and chips/salsa bar indoors tapping our feet to the fun music and vibrant wallpaper art. I also dig a salsa bar with a variety. Metered parking is available and so are menus for breakfast and kiddos! Huevos Con Jamon and the Breakfast Burrito look super yummy, and on the lunch/dinner menu the nachos, tortas, and super bowls look equally as delicious for a new local spot for authentic Jalisco-style Mexican cuisine. The chicken, steak, and al pastor are all winners, and the service is stellar. Until next time!

We had been to Tarocco for lunch and figured we would ask them for a quote, too. My daughter warned me that the owner is trying to be an "influencer" on Instagram and posts photos of herself in crop Tops so I should beware, but that's fine by me. We called to get a quote and had a discussion. After we gave the owner all of our information, she told us she wouldn't give us a quote unless we came in person (?!) Which is weird because this isn't how restaurants work. Typically for events restaurants will give you a quote via phone or email for the sake of convenience. We had gotten 3 quotes already from other restaurants via phone. Making us drive 45 mins just to get a quote is a total waste of time. Especially if we can't afford it. So my daughter called again, left a VM explaining we couldn't come in person due to time constraints, and again asked for a quote. No reply. We waited a few days and called again. No reply. Finally we got a voicemail from the owner saying that she didn't like my daughter's attitude ?!!! Apparently you're not allowed to ask this restaurant how much they charge for events unless you're face to face. This lady has absolutely no idea how to run a restaurant. We took our business elsewhere and recommend that you do, too.

It's also one of those places that makes you want to stay. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and generous. The burgers are loaded and perfectly balanced, the fries are always crisp (never soggy, which is rare), and everything tastes high-quality and made to order. You have to try the chicken and waffles. The waffle batter tastes homemade and the butter takes it to another level... it's one of those dishes you keep thinking about after. I'll even DoorDash it all the way to Jingletown. The patio setup is really well done... there's a mix of larger tables for groups and higher bar-style seating for smaller hangs. The wooden furniture and cushioned benches make it comfortable, and they've got heaters for colder days and umbrellas when it's sunny, so you can usually pick your ideal spot. The food always looked really good, but for whatever reason I always ended up ordering from somewhere else. Well, I finally did it. I finally ordered from Cali Alley, and all I have to say is, why did I wait so darn long? Door Dash was having a 2-for-1 deal on the Cali Alley Burger, so I ordered one of those (and got another for free) , as well as on the small mac and cheese, so I ended up with two of those as well. I got fries as he side for the burgers and saved the second burger and mac and cheese for the next day. I also bought a small side of veggie fried rice for lunch later in the week. OK, let's start with the fries ... wow. Super crispy. Don't know what they do to them, but I think I almost ate all the fries that came with one of the burgers before I even touched the burger. The fries seemed to have a coating like some fries do to make them extra crispy on the outside. Whatever it was, it made them so good, I couldn't stop eating them. I was almost too full for the burger. But who are we kidding? If there is one thing I am good at, it is eating more than I should. The burger, which is described on Door Dash as "char grilled, fresh ground brisket and short rib burger, served on a toasted brioche fun with crisp lettuce, tomato onion marmalade and garlic aioli" was thick and incredibly flavorful. I couldn't stop eating that, either. It was that good. I ordered it medium, and it was pretty pink, but it was sooooooo flavorful, and all the toppings worked well together. I didn't get any cheese on it because I wanted to try to burger by itself and not mask it with cheese. I might try adding cheese next time, but honestly the burger is so good, I almost wouldn't want to cover up its flavor with cheese. Oh, I almost forgot. When you order on Door Dash, you can opt to have them include a small side of their chocolate-chipotle bbq sauce, and I highly recommend that you get it. It's a really interesting flavor and is good for dipping the fries in. I didn't try putting it on the burger, but that might be good, too. The mac and cheese was OK. It's important to note that I enjoyed the flavor but it is more of an eggy consistency than a saucy mac and cheese if that makes sense. It has a nice kick of black pepper, which I liked, though. The vegetarian fried rice was also fine but could have used a little salt. All that to say, don't be like me and procrastinate, get the Cali Alley Burger and fries ASAP.
