Monica is amazing! I've been going to Monica for years. I used to have crippling lower back pain and didn't know what else to do. Khammi is a true healer. We discussed my human design chart as she moved through deep tissue and cupping bodywork and then ended with Craniosacral therapy. I had never heard of Human Design or Craniosacral therapy before finding Sol Solace. I came to these women and non-binary healers by way of searching for trauma informed bodywork. Before my session, I had experienced traditional massage and dabbled with cupping and acupuncture. I had also experienced a little spirituality over the years through tarot and reiki. ...this session was TOTALLY DIFFERENT! Not like any other massage. I did a 60-minute massage with Monica who was compassionate, kind and knowledgeable. I've had a lot of body work done over the years and feel fairly knowledgeable about various modalities (Chinese bodywork, acupuncture, chiropractic, osteopathic, CST, etc.); Monica's skill and knowledge was truly astounding! I've never experienced someone with the depth of knowledge and understanding of the body that Monica has, and her ability to use various different modalities to address underlying issues is incredible. I always leave massages or body work with hip issues (a weird quirk of my body), but Monica noticed my pain and brought me back into the room and fixed it before I left! I've never not limped out of a bodywork session before. She also apparently has a pretty good idea of what's causing it, and I look forward to my next appointment so she can start to address the underlying issue (my initial appointment was actually for jaw tension/pain so the hips weren't supposed to be involved). I highly recommend Monica, and will be sending my husband to her to help with his snoring (she specializes in jaw and palate work). I first made an appointment with Monica after a friend described her as "a true healer with magic hands." Now my friend is a little more esoteric and ornate than I am so I just expected our session to be good. However, my experience surpassed my expectations. Immensely. I enjoy deep tissue and her pressure is perfect, and if it's not she'll ask and make adjustments for your comfort. She'll move your arms around to get deep into places you didn't even know were a mess. And will explain a bit what she is doing. I don't necessarily talk in appointments but it's really nice to hear what is going on with your body. If she notices something weird like one side that is way tighter than the other, etc she asks about you daily life to find the issues that are causing your body to freak out. For example: Two weeks before an appointment my boyfriend and I broke up. The relationship was serious and the break-up hard and heartbreaking but I was working through it. During my appointment, Monica was concentrating on my back and arms and I noticed she spent more time on my left side than normal. I thought since I'm right handed maybe my left side was just more stiff because I don't use it as much (I don't know!). When I turned over and was facing up, she was still moving my left arm this way and that, working on the side of my ribs and my collar bone. She then asked, "Have you been really stressed lately?" Before I could answer she got more specific. "Did you suffer a tragedy recently?" She was doing this as she was working on the muscles around my heart, just below my collarbone and the front my armpit area where your arm and chest connect. Though I would roll my eyes at calling my break-up a "tragedy" I did feel like I lost someone. So I told her about my break up. She then explained that the stress had caused the muscles around my heart to tense up and harden and that's what she was working on. It amazed me that I almost literally had a broken heart. Now this happened over a year ago and I doubt my memory of that exchange is perfect. But it is that type of communication and listening to your body that Monica does. If you're an athlete, too and need a really good massage I definitely recommend her. I did a lot of Muay Thai and kickboxing and she got out all my knots and I immediately felt sooooooo much better and more loose. Even if you're at a desk all day she does amazing work. Seriously, give this woman a call and make an appointment. read more

I have had Monica come into my home for a mobile massage several times, and she is incredible. Her massages have probably been the best I've ever had. She knows what she's doing, and she is a wonderful therapist. Her focus is very much on overall wellness rather than on relaxation only. I usually leave a massage wishing that the pressure had been heavier, but with Monica, it is the opposite. The massage is intense from start to finish for 90 minutes, and when she's done, I can feel the effects of the work for hours and into the next day. I would also say that she is very much in tune with me on an emotional level (how much stress I may or may not be feeling on any given day, for example). I would strongly recommend her.
