Need a great masseur in Austin??? Well I have to say I have found one of the best! I had actually been turned off to massage over the last few years and Elizabeth Meador a licensed Massage Therapist here in Austin has changed all that for me. I have frequent pain in my neck and back and let's face it for those of us who live on a computer 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week who doesn't experience some type of chronic neck or back pain from being hunched over a monitor all day? So suffice it to say I really am so impressed when her technique, soothing personality, and tranquil environment... so much so, that I have already set my next appointment for the beginning of December! Elizabeth does integrative massage, deep tissue massage, prenatal / post-partum massage, and craniosacral therapy which is (& I am totally stealing this verbiage from her website) an amazing tool for helping the body release stuck energy in a very non-invasive way. Using cues from the cranio-sacral rhythm (the flow of cerebro-spinal fluid from the brain through the spinal cord), we can tap into areas of restriction. A session will include 10-steps for helping the body release the restrictions in the craniosacral system, namely the skull, spinal cord and meninges of the brain and spinal cord. Not to be too dramatic, but Elizabeth Meador is possibly one of the best massage therapists in the history of the world. Not really sure I want to share her, but I guess I will. Every time I come here I walk out a new woman. She really listens to what you want worked on, and really feels what your body needs. I have been more than once and each experience gets better. Elizabeth knows the body and can fix just about everything. She knows her limitations, and can give great refeals to something outside her scope of practice. She does practice out side of her home, but it is very clean, and you fell ssafe here. I love her! Elizabeth is for real the BEST. Super compassionate and perceptive, she somehow finds all my sorest spots and makes them better. Often she will find areas of tension I wasn't even aware of and release them, too. I've been seeing her regularly for a few months during my last trimester (which is almost over, thank gawd) for prenatal massage. She's got a very comfortable setup of bolsters and supports and a body pillow so I can lay on my right and left sides for massage. Dim lights and relaxing music and sometimes some aromatherapy oils all make for an incredibly relaxing hour that leaves me feeling ten times better. Elizabeth told me one of her favorite techniques to practice is craniosacral massage and after my last appointment, I can see why. About a month prior, I'd hit my head on a cabinet corner and it was still very tender in that area. No swelling, just hurty. I mentioned it to her and she spent just about 5-10 minutes gently manipulating my skull bones with the lightest touch of her fingertips. The next day, the tenderness was completely gone. Seriously. Poof. Like magic. I would recommend Meador Massage to anyone for anything! read more

I very selfishly want to give Elizabeth fewer than five stars but only because I know if the word gets out about how amazing she is it will be even tougher to get an appointment! However, I would be lying in the worst way if I gave her anything less than all the stars. She fully deserves every single last one of them. Elizabeth really knows her stuff. She's patient, listens to the body and works out the really nasty knots you know about as well as the ones you didn't even realize were there. My husband gifted me gift certificates for prenatal massages with Elizabeth and they were my favorite parts of being pregnant! Her techniques are perfectly adjusted for pregnant bodies and she's very focused on making the experience a pleasant one. The aromatherapy she used was so nice that I continued to smell it on my skin and relax throughout the day. Elizabeth was also very accommodating when it came to scheduling... She managed to fit me in the morning I needed to be at the hospital.
