Love this. Definitely hurt during but I felt better for weeks after. Love lymphatic drainage. It is all great. Remember to book in advance.

Made an appointment in the week for Friday evening with JP. Thankfully this is walking distance so…read moregot there in plenty of time. The door maybe locked if they are all with clients. The entry is serene with white noise machines on the doors to keep what's behind them nice and relaxed. The lobby had several things to look at while waiting. Once JP finished the session before, the table linens were changed and I was brought in to review what needed attention. Since I was there specifically for my left shoulder, that was the focus. I did a 30 minutes session which went by wayyy too quick. JP did a great job of going slow to not cause any discomfort and asked how the pressure was along the way. Talk about relaxing! I'm intrigued to see how the area feels after a nights rest as I've been dealing with the issue for several months. Despite doing PT, there's was something not quite getting to the exact location of he tension. I could feel the areas I've been missing with trigger point in myself being addressed during the massage. Talk about a win! The cost wasn't too bad, $65 for 30 and I will do an hour next round to do a full body massage. The venue was quaint and quite perfect for relaxation.

We both enjoyed our massages and plan to switch therapists next time to experience the other's technique. That said, our rooms were noticeably different. Mine was smaller and more basic, while my husband's was larger and more thoughtfully decorated, which impacted the overall experience a bit. The music in my room was also unexpected--chill R&B instead of the usual nature sounds or soft piano, which I typically prefer. Kenia had a great flow to her movements and was really in tune with my body. She worked out all my knots and even found tight spots in my glutes. Afterward, I had a cup of water waiting for me at the front which I appreciated.

On average I work out 7+ times per week doing different exercise modalities. That type of activity…read moreon your body takes its toll. I used to get massages on a regular basis but fell off the massage wagon. A friend of mine highlighted that she has gotten massages once a month for the last 14 years. I was definitely behind the 8 ball on massages. My friend's long-term revelation was eye-opening, so I decided to get a massage today with Green Care Massage, which is located on W. Parmer, next door to Tomo Sushi. My massage choice was a deep tissue massage. Those polls are not for curtains!!! When my massage therapist asked me could she work on my back, I thought, I said yes. What she actually said was can I "walk" on your back. In my head, I was thinking why do her hands feel like feet...because they were feet! Snappity, snap, snap...I was getting a full on Ashiatsu massage (also known as back walking massage or barefoot massage). If you are not aware, Ashiatusu is a technique where the massage therapist uses their feet to apply deep pressure while holding onto overhead bars for balance and control. The word "Ashiatsu" is a Japanese word meaning (ashi=foot and atsu= pressure.) Apparently, my back was so tight I needed Ashiatsu first. My massage beginning to end was incredibly effective and rejuvenating experience. From the moment the session began, it was clear the massage therapist was highly skilled and knew her craft. The deep, slow strokes and focused techniques worked through my knots and tight muscles, especially in my back and legs. While there were moments of intensity that you would expect with deep tissue work, it was never painful (pressure...no pain). Afterward my body felt like it had exhaled and breathing fresh air.... well worth the time and money. I could feel the tension evaporating with each targeted movement. It is important note, I felt soreness in my neck and back during the massage that I did know existed previously. After the massage session, I noticed a significant improvement in my mobility and range of motion. My usual stiffness had disappeared. I do not know if I will get a massage once a month, but I certainly will not wait too long before another one.

They open at 9:30 for those early birds like myself. I've had massages by Angie several times now and she is wonderful. Next time I swear I'm going for the 120 min massage...and there will be a next time!
